What should have been a simple appointment turned into a mess because of the front office…read more The appointment email made it look like my appointment was at 1:15 and said to arrive 15 minutes early, so I arrived at 1:00. I checked in and was told to sit down. After waiting with no updates for nearly an hour, I went up to the desk around 1:50 to ask what was going on. That's when I was told my appointment was "actually" at 1:30 and that the email somehow accounts for the 15 minute buffer. That explanation made zero sense. I was then told I'd be next, but multiple patients for the same doctor were called back ahead of me. At 2:10, a staff member came out and loudly accused me of not completing my paperwork. When I started filling it out, I noticed the back page already had my signature and date. I pointed this out and was told I didn't fill out the section on health issues or surgeries. I don't have any. Somehow this turned into my problem. It felt very much like they were trying to shift blame onto me to cover up how far behind they were, and the attitude was rude and unnecessary. The only reason this isn't a one-star review is the doctor, who was excellent. Unfortunately, the front desk chaos, poor communication, and lack of professionalism completely overshadowed the visit. The front office seriously needs to get it together.

I pay over the phone or online after going back-and-forth with them. And then they still send me a bill and they say I am late! Even though I am paid up! I am seriously thinking about cutting back on my visits to the office. Not because of the doctors. But because the billing department is so bad. And it makes no sense to me. I arrived for my appt and was told that the doctor that day refused to see me - Dr Medina. I find that completely incompetent. They all should be on the same page. Based on the level of incompetence I'm actually glad that I didn't get to see that doctor at this practice. They don't seem to know what they are doing. I also lost $60 in Lyft charges to and from my appt. The only positive was the receptionist was professional and apologetic.

Four days before he was going to operate, he looked at my file and asked me why I had severe cataracts? That's when I decided to find a new surgeon. I wanted a doctor who didn't act like I was a part moving down an assembly line and I found that with Dr. Serdahl and his staff. Dr. Serdahl put me at ease immediately. He was the only one of 3 eye surgeons I have seen who explained that I had Fuch's Dystrophy and why it could cause complications. Surgery was pain and anxiety free. Two weeks later, I was ready to schedule surgery on my other eye. It takes a lot for a doctor to impress me. Dr. Serdahl does. You can trust him with your vision.

When I wrote the name down it was at the end after my eyes were dilated. Then the technician Claudia was outstanding, very patient and gentle when positioning you at each machine. Also, would explain in detail what was going to happen and what you needed to do each time. Totally making sure that I was comfortable and understood what the test was for. Once I was placed into the examination room waiting for Dr. Liu, which took a little while, but worth the wait. I have had eye surgery on my left, now my right eye has to be done. I'm just thankful he will be performing the second surgery as well, because he is awesome. I was feeling some anxiety, but Dr. Liu makes you feel at ease. We discussed why I was back there, and he started my exam letting the Scribe Joshua know what he was seeing and what he needed to do.
