From what I understand from office staff, you're being recorded from the time you walk in, in the lobby, and in the exam room. She also told me that's not something they usually disclose. I'm not sure why they would feel the need to record their patients - when the office is open and people are there. It certainly can't be because of past burglaries *because the office is open*. After wearing them a couple of days, I found they were a defective design--the cross bar protruded radically onto the lens, visible in your line of sight constantly. I was told to wear them and try to get used to it. Unable to, I was put through hell getting a refund even when the office manager acknowledged the defect--and I was 'banned' by letter from ever entering their 'Boutique' as punishment. From poor service by the Boutique, to failure to stand by their product, to trying to humiliate their clients.

In 2025, Patricia Sierra recommended I have light-adjustable lens cataract surgery, for which I paid her $10,000 (ten thousand dollars). The pain after the first operation was unbelievable. It was off the scale and one of the worst pains of my life. When I reported it to her she said it was "dry eye" and would go away. Of course, it didn't go away and it got worse. I repeatedly told her how severe the pain was and that it didn't feel like dry eye. She insisted that's all it was. This went on for a few weeks during which I suffered greatly. Eventually, I could tolerate the pain no longer and went to see my regular eye doctor. He said that I had inflammation in the eye. He prescribed anti-inflammatory meds which reduced the pain significantly. Sadly, the inflammation was severe and had gone on for so long that my eye was permanently damaged. So, there is still pain there a year later. Patricia Sierra also was mistaken about the outcome of the surgery. She told me I would have 20/20 vision after the surgery and that I would not need to wear glasses. Sadly, my vision is now only 20/25 in one eye and 20/30 in the other and yes, I have to wear glasses. When I wrote to Patricia Sierra about all this, she was not very sympathetic but did offer me a small, partial refund. All I can do is share my experience with other people so they can make an informed decision.

Four days before he was going to operate, he looked at my file and asked me why I had severe cataracts? That's when I decided to find a new surgeon. I wanted a doctor who didn't act like I was a part moving down an assembly line and I found that with Dr. Serdahl and his staff. Dr. Serdahl put me at ease immediately. He was the only one of 3 eye surgeons I have seen who explained that I had Fuch's Dystrophy and why it could cause complications. Surgery was pain and anxiety free. Two weeks later, I was ready to schedule surgery on my other eye. It takes a lot for a doctor to impress me. Dr. Serdahl does. You can trust him with your vision.

When I wrote the name down it was at the end after my eyes were dilated. Then the technician Claudia was outstanding, very patient and gentle when positioning you at each machine. Also, would explain in detail what was going to happen and what you needed to do each time. Totally making sure that I was comfortable and understood what the test was for. Once I was placed into the examination room waiting for Dr. Liu, which took a little while, but worth the wait. I have had eye surgery on my left, now my right eye has to be done. I'm just thankful he will be performing the second surgery as well, because he is awesome. I was feeling some anxiety, but Dr. Liu makes you feel at ease. We discussed why I was back there, and he started my exam letting the Scribe Joshua know what he was seeing and what he needed to do. Joshua would ask Dr. Liu every now and then to repeat what he said, so that he was accurate in what he was transcribing. There was a scribe in training whose name was Lindsey and Joshua was explaining in detail exactly what he was doing. I will always recommend Sacramento Eye Consultants, they are outstanding!!!!!
