I was very disappointed at KJon's recently. I wanted a 1/2 eternity band to go with my wedding band for our 25th wedding anniversary. I had a bracelet from my mother with enough diamonds to do the job. I also purchased a cheap CD band that I brought with me to KJon's to show them what I wanted. I thought all was clear but when I got the ring it was totally the wrong size and did not fit with my wedding band at all. they tried giving me all kinds of lame excuses like the new band was thinner, I was able to prove it was not. The diamonds were smaller, I was able to show this has nothing to do with the circumference of the ring. I even showed them how it was obviously smaller by holding the two rings side by side that clearly showed the diamond band was smaller. I get mistakes happen. But they pretty much refused to do anything. The jeweler attempted to resize it but only took it out of round. They told me l'd have to purchase an entire new mounting and have it reset for hundreds more dollars, despite my pointing out that I had brought in an example and therefore should have been no confusion. Terrible customer service and really annoying when you have an understanding as I do, just how little it would cost KJon's to simply replace the simple white gold, 1/2 eternity mounting. They even tried to show me a page of their supposed cost to purchase the mounting, which I am sure was retail. I wish this was my only bad experience. When I had the ring made I also dropped off a Navajo Squash Blossom necklace for appraisal because I was told the jeweler was Native American. My father bought it for my mother 50 years ago and I was curious about the piece. The report I received could have been produced by a simple Google search. Nothing about the necklace's origin, the stones, the quality of the silver or workmanship, actual age. Nothing. Then they tried to sell me on having him repair some weak spots that felt perfectly strong to me. At this point he already ruined my ring so I said no thank you. read more

I used to love going into K-jons when the former owners had the store. Unfortunately, since I've been in the store a couple of times since, I've had nothing but rude and impertinent service from a tall brunette in the store and also others. I just could not believe the extremely poor lack of a smile, any customer service, knowledge and tact. She knew nothing about the piece that I wanted repaired but proceeded to tell me that it was too cheap and it would be too expensive to fix. Unbelievably negative in every way! Just incredibly rude. I have never had such poor customer service in my life! I left immediately telling her how rude and negative her comments were. I will NEVER go into K-jons again. With the other negative reviews I see here, it's no wonder. Also the store is drab and colorless with only silver and diamonds-no gold, no colorful birthstones, nothing. Don't waste your time there. This is the first time I've ever done a yelp review, I've had Jewelry made here at K Jon's a few years ago. It wasn't cheap I paid over $1000 to have a necklace and earrings made from my black pearls that I got into Tahiti. The other day my black pearl fell of my necklace. So I brought it in for them to repair it. The woman behind the counter said that I was going to have to pay for the repair, I asked why because I just had it made a few years ago and I hardly wore it. Well she said she would ask the owner if he would waive the fee of fixing it. I proceeded to leave other jewelry there to be repaired and left happy. When I got home I got a phone call from K Jon's and the woman said that he wouldn't waive the fee to fix the necklace that he made because it was normal wear and tear. I said that I wasn't happy about that and asked don't you stand by your work. She said that he wouldn't waive it. So I would suggest if you're going to have anything made there not to. I paid over $1000 to have that necklace made and he didn't even guarantee it for anything. If there was a way that I could give them a zero for that I would. Stay clear of them because they don't guarantee their work! I Hardly wore the necklace also. So I definitely recommend not to go to this place. Very Disappointed read more

What a great jewelry store. I brought two of my watches in, both needed new bands and a battery. While they were replacing my bands and battery my son and I walked around and looked at the jewelry, the people behind the counter were so kind to my son, explaining diamonds, gold, crystals, and how they are made. At no time did I get a sales pitch. The watches that I brought in were not expensive at all, but the staff treated me like I brought in the two most expensive Rolex's they've ever seen. I have been a customer since 1987. Their building is beautiful and a great setting to display fine jewelry. I always have them replace watch batteries, shorten watch bands, repair jewelry, re-size rings, and more. I did buy a loose stone at a special even they held, but I somehow lost it. I have bought jewelry from them and always been happy with the purchase. Preston is a quality gemologist and really knows his stuff. There is usually plenty of parking in their private lot. The prices are high, but you are paying for service, and convenience of being local. It is not a high volume, low price type store. Go in for personal service, quality jewelry, and the usual stuff I mentioned like watch batteries, and free ring cleaning. I think you will be glad you purchased locally. read more

Went here for the first time today as my budget usually keeps me in the pawn shops. =) However I needed an item engraved (last minute of course) and thought I would give it a shot. Really disappointed with KJon. Went in to look for a wedding band set and to get my engagement ring cleaned. When I got my engagement ring back some of the white gold plating was rubbed off. They told me they could replate it, but would it would be $50(!?!). To fix something that their cleaning caused! And the main stone is loose now as well! Unbelievable. Dishonest. You can find everything from gold charms to eye catching watches, high end, exotic gemstones and exquisite diamonds. My husband surprised me one Christmas with gold huggie earrings, each with a single diamond securely set in front. He knew that I had lost more than one earring from taking my motorcycle helmet on and off. One of the women at the store understood the problem. She also rides and she helped him pick out this pair that was beautiful and very secure. Preston has done multiple appraisals for me. I am knowledgeable about diamonds and have known about the 4 Cs of diamonds for years, (Cut, Color, Clarity & Carot weight). Preston showed me additional characteristics, I have never heard about, that can effect the value of a diamond. Very impressive! They will clean and inspect your jewelry at no charge and let you know if they spot any issues that you need to be aware of. They have retipped the prongs that hold my large marquis diamond in place and replaced the whole head when it was needed to keep it secure.
