My partner and I are from San Diego and frequent another Korean spa in that area, so we decided to try K spa while we were here and ended up extremely disappointed. This place lacked the sense of peace and serenity you expect when going to a spa, we left feeling more frustrated than relaxed. I also don't believe it's advertised as a family-friendly spa, but it probably should be. The amenities were nice and initially what drew us in--a big lounge, multiple treatment rooms, as well as food and drinks available for purchase. However, these amenities were difficult to enjoy due to children running in and out of rooms and adults having loud conversations. I was especially surprised by how many people were on their phones, playing videos without headphones, even inside the smaller treatment rooms, and some even using laptops in the common areas and taking phone calls. It really took away from the overall experience. The massage I had was great and was probably the only relaxing part of our entire visit. read more

I usually go to K-Town for my Korean spas, but this time I wanted to try something different, and this place had some good reviews. I came on a Sunday late morning and the place was relatively quiet. I quickly checked all the facilities on the women's side and then in the co-ed areas. Everything was nice and clean and functioned super well - no one likes a lukewarm sauna, and these babies were heated up really well. I noticed noone had any flip flops - there were plenty of signs saying people shouldn't, and everyone seemed to abide by the rules. The facilities are not super large and there are no any frills to it, but I loved it that everything worked properly in all the areas of the spa. I did not try the food (it seemed like a hassle and was quite pricey), but I did enjoy a few snacks and green tea I brought in. Towards the afternoon the place started to get quite busy. Also, the do not talk rule was NOT observed in spas and saunas - people were laighing, chatting, making out and even arguing - and at times quite loudely. It's an okay option for a K Spa. It has the sauna rooms, jimjilbang, hot tub, and restaurant which I think is not part of the spa. The one thing I didn't like was the lack of disposable slippers. I don't trust any public floor no matter if it looks clean. I had to endure walking barefoot everywhere knowing that people sometimes walk into the locker room with their shoes on. The bathroom is a major ick for me. There are wet spots inside the cubicles which you can only assume to be urine because some people probably squat on the toilet because there is no toilet seat liner. Curled up in defeat at the foot of Hump Day? It's time to catch your breath at the Korean spa! In typical jimjilbang fashion, no need to schedule services at K Spa to enjoy the amenities. Just pay the entry fee which is $30 here. My order preference: Act 1: Soak in warm/hot then cold pool, after locking away shoes/clothes and showering, of course. Gendered areas must be enjoyed in the nude. Act 2: After donning given uniform, have a snack/meal in the co-ed common area. Act 3: Sweat it out in co-ed saunas then finish with ice room to close up them pores. Clean up nice in gendered areas before leaving. The floors at K Spa are spotless, notable when you're totally barefoot. The common area is modest but tranquil, with a Clay Sauna, Salt Sauna, Forest Room (room temp with turpentine diffuser), and Ice Room. Unlike spas that make you babysit one towel, you can grab them yourselves here. They trust you to take it easy. They provide cotton swabs, lotion, and even those ionic blow dryers. K Spa doesn't have its own kitchen so it teams up with next door restaurant, Damee, which has an adjoining dining room for spa guests. Drinks/snacks can be ordered from a kiosk & brought back to the tables in the common area. Meals must be eaten in the dining room. Here's where things get weird. To get to Damee, you have to put on these communal slippers, go back out past the front desk, then bring your drinks/snacks back through the locker rooms. We decided to order meals too so we can just sit in the dining room. What gave me the ick was the area where you put on slippers is also where people put their shoes away. There's definitely some overlap where people are stepping with shoes and you're barefoot. If this doesn't bother you, then K Spa is a restful space that can boost you over that Hump or out of that slump any day of the week. I decided to go to K Spa to celebrate my birthday. I have gone to a Korean Spa before. I usually go to Wi Spa in Los Angeles. This time around I took my family and my initial thought going in was that they would have a great time. That was not the case. K Spa is much smaller than Wi Spa. One thing I was looking forward to was unwinding and relaxing and I did not get the oppotunity to do that. The main room where you could rest was really loud. I had managed to fall asleep but the noise woke me up. One thing I would suggest is that there is a worker making sure the room is quiet. I felt cranky when I left. I used to come to Beach Spa on a regular and here's my honest review: * I personally liked the previous look and decor better because it really brought out a traditional Korean vibe. However, the new look is quite nice in its own way! Can't beat the cleanliness renovations bring! * They offer the same amenities as the previous version, except they did remove the UV Red Light Room in the shower area, which was one of my favorite places to take a nap. Other than that, they still offer the salt, clay, sleeping, ice rooms. * The rooms all have LED lights, which makes it quite difficult to relax. Mainly the Forest Room is a bit bright for a resting room. But all in all, the rooms are very cozy and well designed. * The shower rooms offer both a dry sauna room and a steam room. Love these rooms! You also have your tubs: hot, warm, and cold. * For drinks and small bites (eggs, shaved ice) are ready to order on the kiosk which is very convenient. Finally! My first time going to a kspa in Cali. I haven't been to one in years. This was definitely very relaxing and enjoyable. I got the body scrub and massage $115 package. This was my first time trying the body scrub, and it felt great. I like laying there like a dead fish being filleted. They do a good scrubbing and afterward, my skin felt super soft and clean. I started getting really hungry during the treatment cause they use scented scrubs and wash that smelled really good. They had use scented scrubs, cucumber facial mask, some hot herbal liquid to pour over body, and ending with milk wash. I did breakout into hives that night but it went away next morning. I'm not sure if it's from scrubbing and allergic reaction, but it didn't itch. You can let the staff know if you have sensitive skin prior. The massage was also very good. I'm kind of impressed how strong these Korean ladies are, and she did a great job getting lots of knots in my neck and shoulder. The facility is nice and clean. I felt like I took so many showers and hair wash that day. You have to shower and wash before the hot tubs and you have to do it again during the scrub/massage treatment. After the treatment, you should do it again in case allergic to the soaps. The restaurant offered good food. It's a bit pricey but at least spa user have a discounted menu. We also tried the red bean and fruit bingsoo. It hit the spot after the hot rooms. I want to bring my mom here to try it out. read more

OMG, K Spa in Buena Park, CA is an absolute dream ! The facilities are super clean--like, seriously the cleanest spa I've been to in Cali--and the vibe is totally zen. Just a heads-up: around noon, the place gets a bit livelier (total social hour vibes ), so if you're all about that serene spa life, an AM visit is def the way to go! One tiny bummer was that there wasn't any food on site . I was starving and dreaming of a cute cafe atmosphere right there in the spa, but all I found was a kiosk outside. Still, it wasn't a huge deal, just a little "meh" moment since I had to leave my cozy sanctuary to grab a bite. They offer 3 different hot sauna rooms of varying temperatures & one cold one - one was SO hot I felt like my face was melting (I think it was salt room?), another one was hot but tolerable (clay) and the last one was not that hot but good to end / relax in (might be the forest of I may be mixing up salt and forest). But anyways I like that there is a variety to kind of go in n out of. Theres also a restaurant (go through lobby) it is a big pricey and i recommend getting a combo set to share - but tasted pretty good! You can also get ice cup or various drinks here. I've been going here a long time, since before their move/remodel, and I have to say I miss the old location. It's more inconvenient to grab food now, and the restaurant employees don't seem to know how to handle cafe orders. The entire place feels quite sterile. But I can deal with that. The real reason I'm making this review is to warn folks to avoid Tina for any massage/때 procedures, as she is very rude (to Koreans, idk if it would be any different for non-Koreans). I received a 때미사지 (scrub & massage) from her, and she not only doesn't routinely pour water over you to wash away the scrubbed skin, she is very curt and demanding and gets frustrated with you when you don't return fast enough/move as quick as she desires. She also turns you roughly, and also doesn't cover you with a towel during the scrub. She also spent all her time on the scrub (but like disproportionately? She only spent like two seconds on my arms and most of the time on my frontside??) and no time on the massage. Editing to add: this was my second time with her, so this was not an isolated incident. When you make an appt, you can request to avoid people, so I highly recommend requesting to avoid Tina. My review for the hard product (the location itself) is closer to 4 stars, and Tina would be negative stars. read more

I used to come here all the time before they renovate and changed to K Spa. I must say I had a great visit! They completely changed the entire place and it looks much more clean and modern. I noticed that the locker room was spacious, but it seemed that they bunched everyone together because it got very crowded in my row. Inside, they have cold water, warm water, hot water, and steam room. The hot water didn't feel too hot as it used to. I decided to pay to get the 30 minute scrub and it was amazing! I simmer in the hot water for 30 minutes and during the scrub, I felt all my dead skin get scrubbed away. I felt so soft and new. Thank you Min for the scrub! Renovated and clean! Entry is $30. Everything is renovated and modern-design. There are so many showers! And the wet sauna looks larger than most Korean spas I've been to. The communal area is a large open-space concept with heated floors. They have a lot of staff patrolling the area... telling folks to quiet down. One projector screen going. I think it would be best and most relaxing to nap or read, but not necessarily work on a laptop. You can order food on a large screen but you have to monitor your text to get the alert that it's ready, then go through the changing area, wear shoes, and then go through the front to the separate restaurant to pick up the food. I don't love that, especially since it feels like you're entering a dirty space outside of the spa bubble. Overall I recommend. So happy I found this place! I booked an Aroma Spa package for 2 and thoroughly enjoyed all 80 mins. I suggest coming an hour early to your appointment to be able to enjoy all of the amenities. I really enjoyed the different sauna rooms: salt, forest, ice. The temperature is something you have to adjust to but I felt true peace laying in the rooms letting myself sweat out the toxins. As for the scrub, it is everything I hoped for and more! She really scrubbed all of the dead skin off of my body. It is definitely not for the weak because I was clenching in pain at some sensitive parts of my body. The after effects were incredible and I felt like a newborn baby. The massage started promptly after the scrub on the same table. I was a little surprised but pleasantly so! The massage worked out the kink in my neck and even moisturized me to full capacity. Parking here is pretty easy, they have a large lot that they share with other stores and restaurants. It does get crowded though. This spa is on the smaller size, the previous business used to have a larger wet spa area but it seems like they renovated to give more space to the small beauty shops in the reception area. I bought a package of 10 admission tickets. Be aware that these expire 6 months from purchase and then after that they can be redeemed for an extra charge that essentially makes it regular price. The common area has heated floors, an ice room, clay room, salt room, and a forest room. There are wood pillows or foam blocks that you can use in each room. And you can order drinks or shaved ice to eat at a couple of tables in the common area. Alternatively, you can go to Damee - the restaurant connected to the common area. There is a special entrance for spa guests. You still will want to bring your wallet from your locker though. Also, be aware that because the spa is small there is no area for childcare and children are generally not advised to be in the hot rooms. The women's wet spa area is fairly clean, but also it can get very busy on weekends so it may be hard to find a shower stall to really scrub down when it's busy. All of the showers have shampoo and conditioner. There's a wet sauna, a dry sauna, and three pools - warm, hot, and cold. There are stations equipped with mirrors, lotion, and hairdryers. They have some communal combs - but I recommend bringing your own from home. They also provide towels, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. It's a nice spa, but it might not provide all the amenities that a larger spa would. But still for the price it's not bad. read more

Great little spa! It's smaller than I-spa, but I feel like it's cleaner. I-spa is pretty clean too, but because kspa is smaller, it's easier to clean and manage when there's a lot of people. I opted to get a scrub and massage on a Sunday evening and called in for an appointment. If you're going to get a scrub you might as well add in the $25 for the massage since the scrub is $60, and doesn't include the admission so it's $90. The scrub and massage combo is $115 (+tip I gave $20) and it includes admission. If you're new to Korean spas, be aware that you're going to be NAKED. There's no big towels for your body, and there's no robes. Everyone is naked anyway, so just get on in. If you're self conscious don't be. I'm a plus size girl, I'm tall, I'm big and I'm tatted. I'm like a Korean mother's nightmare (ask my mom jk) and I felt fine. You get a key when you pay and you put your shoes in the small cubby. THIS IS A SHOE FREE ZONE! Then, you take your stuff to your locker, strip, and put on the spa clothes they provide. They're pretty loose. I'm a size 16/18 or a XXL and I had a lot of room in the pants. I have a big butt so usually pants never fit well but these were loose, I think even a size 20 could fit into them, they gave me a size XXL shirt and pant. Then, take a shower, they provide shampoo and conditioner and soap, and even toothbrushes and toothpaste. You can use your own shower stuff as well, I think they have better shampoo/comditioner/soap on the sitting side vs the standing showers. If you came in with your spa clothes, on the right side I are baskets to put tour clothes and anything else in. They also have a water cooler to fill your bottle OR little paper cones. After you shower, you are free to use the facilities. There's a hot, warm and cold pool. Their hot pool is REALLY HOT and I like hot. All pools have jets too. I wish the warm pool was just a little bit warmer, though. Steam room, dry sauna are available as well. Make sure to rinse off after sweating in the saunas before going into the pool. I opted for the scrub, it's the first time doing it but the lady scrubbed every single inch of me and I mean every inch. Under the belly, my fupa, the inner thigh and the area where my leg and body meet, my arm pits, my crack, everywhere, and in different positions. I exfoliate weekly with the Korean scrubbing mitts too but someone else doing it does a better job. I never felt so clean ALL over. She also washes your hair and does the massage with a cucumber face mush, and gives you hot towels here and there during your session. At one point she'll tell you to go shower and wash your face, and you come back for the massage portion. I love when she pours the warm water on me. Make sure you soak a lot before the scrub, up to the neck since when I sit in the tubs my shoulders are out of the water. At the end your person will give you an envelope for their tip that you can drop off at the front desk. My lady had her Venmo and Zelle on her envelope so that's also an option. The common room has 4 rooms: ice room, clay room, salt room and forest room. The clay room doesn't have the clay balls and it's not very hot, at least not as hot as I-spa. The salt room I think was hotter than I-spas and I couldn't handle it for too long. The little pathway wasn't covered with the thick blanket thing I burned my feet walking out. I have thick hobbit feet too but that shit was really hot. If you want drinks, bingsu (Korean shaved ice) or spa eggs you can order at the kiosk. If you want food you need to eat at the spa portion of the restaurant. Just go to the exit, there's some slippers you can wear to go eat there or pick up your food you ordered at the kiosk to bring back. I don't particularly like that, and that's where I think ispa wins because it's the same integrated area. Also for some reason, this spa everyone is so freaking chatty. People are talking loudly in the spas, and in the steam room and dry sauna. I would literally move, and every time I did there's another group of women that's chopping it up loudly. Even during the scrub a pair of Korean women were talking loudly. Not sure if it was a lady and the scrubber, or two workers talking amongst themselves. Then, even inside the clay room I had a group of 8 girls chopping it up. Main room there's a kid that's like.. 10-12 blurting random things to his mom. At I-spa everyone is fairly quiet.
