They only accept cash and who carries cash these days? I love this place... So why only three stars. I have been coming here for years getting the same thing donut holes either 1.00 worth or 5.00 worth when it's for the girls at work. Looks like they have this new lady working there. For years I have been use to smiling at the same lady. This time the new lady was so into the TV show she got my order wrong. I told her 1.00 worth. She walked to the register and said 1.25 I told her I asked for a 1.00 worth she argued with me "why didn't you say that" - I was pissed and walked out. Oh Lawrd, this is the 5th review I do for a donut shop, have mahrcy! A pretty good donut place here. They make them big, they make them fluffy on the inside, and not overly sweet. While Randy's by LAX is still my favorite, K-T is a good donut in San Diego. Much better than the 3 corporate donut places down the same street, headed towards the 805. Surprisingly, they don't charge an arm and a leg, like the shops in SF, where a chocolate bar runs $2.95. read more

This is the best donut shop! I moved to southeast San Diego a year ago and have driven by this place many times, but never got around to trying it till a few weeks ago. Why did I ever wait so long? It looks like your typical mom and pop donut shop, but the quality of the donuts is superb. The first thing I tried there was a jelly donut and that thing was loaded with jelly. Never before have mine eyes beheld so much rich sweet jelly encased within a delicious pastry. Their buttermilks are huge and melt in your mouth, same with the old fashioned glaze. Cake donuts are fantastic and moist (and I've only ever been there in the evening; can't imagine what they're like in the morning). This is my donut shop! read more
