We usually go in person at this Lemon Grove location and have always had a pleasant experience. This time however we ordered online for some Double chocolate cake Doughnuts with rainbow sprinkles and a few Glaze donuts. We received no chocolate cake doughnuts- just frosted normies with random sprinkles, jimmies quine and nonpareils all over some of them, The shop also appeared to give us extra of the doughnuts they did have to compensate. Disgusting store. Went in to get some donuts and there were several flies not just in the case but actively sitting and landing on donuts. There was no door to the case and the store was filled with flies buzzing and flying around. The service was very meh. As someone who currently works in customer service and someone who has also worked in food for years, I have to say the worker had no energy and genuinely seemed upset to be there. My family and I love supporting this local business and their donuts and pastries are great but I decided to try the smoothie boba drinks today (avocado and Thai tea) and they were terrible. The boba was hard and not chewy at all. Probably because they don't sell very many and they didn't seem to know the recipe because the lady making it kept adding milk because it was too thick with ice. They more along the lines of 3 star donuts, but I give one total star for the deliver factor and they called to let me know that they were out a donut that I ordered, were nice, and offered choices in replacement. Don't waste your money. Avoid Always passed by and decided to support a local business. They charge a .49 cent fee if paying with card and under $10. It my was first bite of disappointment. My gf had to spit her bite out it was so gross. After the bad taste In my mouth I tried to find something to take it away. I had nothing around so I took a bite from every doughnut and it got worse and worse. There was one item which seemed digestible. It was their apple turnover. It was flaky and apples tasted ok. Nothing extraordinary but i could swallow it, which is where the standards at at for this place. I offered some to family to get a 2nd opinion and even my brother who eats almost anything had to spit it out. This place is super bad. The worst doughnut shop I've ever had and that's not an exaggeration. What makes matters worse is that some of the items were freshly baked and just hit the shelves. I wanted to give this place a try and it was a waste of money. $15 is what 12 different items cost me and only one item was digestible while the others I had to spit out and throw away. I ordered through the Yelp app for seven donuts and a bag of glazed donut holes. The donuts were light, fluffy, and tasted very fresh. We got glazed, chocolate, chocolate filled, maple, and cinnamon crumb donuts. The donuts were delicious but they gave me a chocolate twist instead of a glazed one. I would come back but probably in person so I can make sure I get the correct donuts.
