I was excited to try this doughnut shop because I was in the area, craving doughnuts and it had gotten some pretty good reviews on "Yelp". When I walked in a female was cleaning and organizing behind the register counter. That's fine, but she could have stopped a second or two to greet me but she didn't and continued to clean and organize. A little turned off I still decided to buy my doughnuts. The doughnut centers/holes in the show case looked fresh and delicious so I ordered a dozen. The clerk behind the counter didn't reach into the showcase for my doughnuts; instead she pulled out a prepacked bag of doughnut centers/holes from behind the counter. By now I am totally turned off, I paid for my doughnuts which after taking one small bite knew that they were not fresh or delicious and left the store. I tossed the remaining doughnuts into the first trash container I saw. If there is a next time I will try something else and hopefully get better service. read more

One of the best spots in the hood. My son gets the tuna croissant. Decent priced; they actually season their tuna which is nice. Literally a 7 minute drive from the house. We even met a family from Coronado there once....they come all the way across the bridge when they have breakfast in their own neighborhood. Speaks volumes for Kd's. Came to order the Croissant With Egg and Bacon Sandwich and a few donuts. Got all the way home and my sandwich is covered in mayonnaise. To be clear, nowhere does it say there is Mayo, and it is not a normal addition to this type of breakfast sandwich at ANY local donut shop. This is a pretty standard, staple type fare at just about every shop around. Got all the way home before I realized it, so I stupidly threw away my money. My dad comes here a lot. He was the one who introduced this donut place to us. HOWEVER, about 20 minutes ago my family and I came. Anyways , He stayed quite. So I told him I ordered the hamm and cheese. That's why I asked you if you could heat it up. I don't know if he was acting dumb or like he didn't understand but after realizing that he wasnt going to do anything about it I said nothing more and sat back down. Im usually not a complainer nor a bitch. I have a very high tolerance BUT I AM SUPER DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS DOUNT PLACE. I USED TO COME HERE A LOT IN THE MORNINGS FOR THIS ORDER. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO COME HERE; at least in the afternoon / night shifts. I WISH I TOOK A PICTURE AT THAT MOMENT. After I sat down he went to the back and didn't come out. My wife and I travel the country (well, California so far anyway) in search of the perfect apple fritter (AF). We came close today at this little shop. Perfect in all respects. Crisp outside, different degrees of "doneness" inside and no oily aftertaste. And this at 2 pm on a Sunday when lots of AFs are getting old. Even the temperature was just right. Don't know about the other items they sell. Don't care. It's all about the AF. On our scale of 1 to 10, it's a 9 and we've never given higher because we hope we never find the very best or we'd have to stop our search. read more
