My dad has had a bad experience with the lady working at the counter and warned the rest of my family about it after the fact. I should've heeded the warning but I really wanted a donut before heading to work since it was close to my house. It was just very uncomfortable and I felt like I was a bother to her for just being there. Also what threw me off the most was the fact that she charged me extra for using my debit card?? Which was ok with me at the time but then I found out that it's actually illegal for places to surcharge for using debit card transactions, so just watch out for that. read more

By far the worst customer service I've ever encountered! I went in this morning to order donuts for my sons birthday. The lady quickly acted like she really didn't want to give me any service. She told me that I could use my card but it had to be $10 or more for card use. Well, I ended up going over $10, and she even gave me an attitude about ordering 11 donuts when she recommended 12, because it was the same price. I appreciate that, but I don't shop donuts everyday, this my first time here, why the attitude? Then when it was time to pay, it was charging me debit, when I was asking to pay credit. The machine reset within 30 seconds of me not completing my payment, so she blamed me for doing it, when I didn't touch the machine. So, she had to recharge me and I asked to pay credit but she kept on insisting, with an attitude that I need to pay debit. She also exclaimed that she don't know how I should pay, I just need to pay what it says. She was also was throwing the utensils down forcefully after she threw my last four donuts in the box with an attitude. All I did was come in and ask, "do you all accept card payment?". From there it was all downhill. I didn't even give her an attitude not one time, until I decided to say no thank you, and walked away. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. read more

We went to several different donut shops throughout San Diego to try and find the best option to use for our donut wall for our wedding. We ended up finding West Coast Donuts and I am glad we did! All of the donut shops we visited offered a variety of frosting colors to us as we were going for certain colors to get a certain look for the donut wall display. What stood out for this shop is the owners of the shop really worked with us to get exactly what we wanted and even though we picked different types of donuts (cake and yeast) they made them to order as all yeast so the sizes matched for the display. West Coast Donuts delivered us EXACTLY what we asked for with delicious light and fluffy donuts for the best price we found for the nine dozen donuts we ordered. Great value and delicious donuts! You would walk in and all you hear is "Hadoken", "Sonic Boom", "You win, Perfect"...it seemed that Street Fighter was the only source of revenue for this donut shop. Donuts was more than an after thought. With the name changed to West Coast donuts, this place is more of a real donut shop rather than a arcade hot spot for high schoolers. The dough isn't too thick & is similar to krispy kreme but without the overbearing sweetness. They have been at this spot for awhile now & has consistently brought out good products. The best donuts I've had since I was a kid!! Seriously. They have a crispiness on the outside, with light yumminess (esp with filling) on the inside. I got my favorite, Boston Creme, as well as Raspberry Jelly, and Apple Fritter... All were fantastic! My purchase was a dozen and a large coffee for under $12! Very reasonable. It is cash only. They should remove the boba drink options, Every time I drop by to buy a dozen and boba the Chinese looking lady always tells me there's no boba, but if it's the dude or the Thai girl there's always some available, the donut is average but I love the advertised boba drinks all over the shop cause it's pretty unique but when I ordered there's none(always) I stopped going here for 4 years just cause I usually see the same girl there and I don't really like her service ever since and I always leave disappointed from a simple donut run, but after years I came back cause I told my wife their boba drinks are hella bomb and there it was her again and sadly still no boba after 4 years. I went in at 10:30 a.m. on a weekday and they had a great selection of donuts. I decided to try a few chocolate glazed cake donuts, as well as chocolate bar, and a vanilla glazed cake donut. I will say all donuts were delicious! The chocolate was delicious, and not overpowering. The donuts themselves are fluffy, and perfect.
