Then they said we are in the wrong room and need to move (which we refused) since most of our guests had arrived They don't tell you ANYTHING, they don't give you anything and I had to constantly chase them down to ask for forks, plates, napkins! Then they told me that we had to wait 2 hours to get the ride because they booked back to back parties and they weren't gonna let the Walkens go before the parties and they had to get all the people on the parties to go first. I said that wasn't OK. They didn't really care. We finally got on the track 2 hours later and we're supposed to be able to go back to back as the guy at the front told us. But no we had to wait another 20 min for second ride. And the nighttime manager said no we can't do back to back rides. They're gonna have to wait another 20 minutes for the second ride. He was pretty rude about it and said he can give us our money back, but the kids didn't want their money back the kids wanted to ride. We've been here now for three hours. The BEST KART INDOOR RACING LOCATION EVER!! This facility was packed with fun activities to do with your family and children friendly. Very nice and detailed beautifully to give that true race car driver feeling. It felt like I was at a real race car arena!! It was the best presentation of entertainment I've ever seen. We loved the arcade section, the well-lit signs, seating area, designs throughout the facility, cleanliness of the restrooms and MORE! The gear that you need to wear before safely driving, is given to you. A face-mask protecter, along with a nice design helmet. These are required to wear, for safely is top priority. Height required is at 48in and there's no getting a pass on that. You MUST meet the height requirement, or you will not be able to drive. It's a one-seater only. Make sure that you have experience with driving a kart with smaller groups so that you won't be in fear of the other drivers, because after all it is a SPEED RACER. You will be driving around curves and turns but you MUST BE SAFE! This isn't a bumper car racer, that'll lead to extreme danger if these precautions aren't taken seriously. Other than that, if you don't drive you can enjoy the food, the views, the arcade room (which is HUGE!), and plentiful great tunes that are playing through the speakers. All-in-all this is the best place to go with friends, family, your children, plan a party or thran event. It's well worth every penny. First time here, and had a horrible experience with the staff at the register and the manager. I wanted to come here for my birthday and my free birthday race. I called early to check on the availability, and according to the staff on the phone (and also on their website), as a first timer you can come in, register, buy membership, and get your one free birthday race. So here I am driving 30 min to come here, the staff first told me to go register and pay for the membership, then told me that I can't actually get the free race until after a few days....i asked for the manager and the manager told me that whoever told us on the phone is lying, and then finally agreed that if I purchase at least one race then I can get my birthday race as a compensation. The nightmare is not over yet, now the manager left me with the horrible front staff again. Before I go ahead and make my purchase I asked how long will I need to wait for my race, she told me she will tell me after I make my purchase. After I paid she then told me that I'll need to wait 1 hour 40 minutes for my one race. Like wtf? I felt so manipulated first for registering and paying for my membership before knowing about their "wait a few days to get birthday race" rule, then I had to pay before I was told that I have to wait close to 2 hrs. The staff at the registers were nice but staff on track was not. Particularly the staff member who was waving the flag that evening. I didn't catch the guys name but it was my first time ever going go karting and I was confused as to how to drive and use the vehicles and that was probably on me for not knowing. I didn't know where the pedals were and he kept yelling at me to go which you can argue isn't the worst thing. That wasn't the bothersome moment though what did bother me was that he continued to shoot angry glances at me even after I had left the track. Today's temperature was 109 in Burbank. It was the same if not worse inside at K1 speed. They have no air conditioning and the mix of cars and people makes it even hotter in there. The cars kept shutting off during the race so they kept stopping us to swap cars. This is horrible because again it's 109 with a full face helmet on and you're sitting there sweltering while they get the race back on. Then the races are rigged. We had a YouTuber who was racing with us and they would slow other people's cars to let him pass. We paid $301 for three races for 4 people. I won't be doing that again. read more

Horrific experience. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT take your children here. My son has been limping for days. Monday afternoon I decided to take my kids go karting and found K1 in Burbank. The place was big, clean and no one was there. I thought score! My kids can ride a few times and leave without waiting in massive lines. During their junior race (my two boys 9 and 7) and one other kid joined my two boys collided and my younger sons go kart did not hit the kart and bounce back like a normal go kart. It literally FLEW on top of my older son! My older son was now under my younger sons gokart screaming. I plunged over tha gate screaming and the worker removed the gokart off of my son who is now holding his knee and screaming. After removing my son from the kart he limped back to the seating area which one gentleman came and said "he's okay" excuse me!? Your un maintained go kart literally flew off the floor and came on top of my 9 year old! He offered an ice pack and that was it. And asked if we are done racing. Complete neglect! Both my boys said that the breaks were NOT working. Both. The other random kids mom yelled for his son to stop cause of the accident and he also said mom the break isn't working. These karts have not been maintained. Recent reviews are also stating this! My sons knees is complete bruised and scrapped. He is limping and now we are waiting for X-rays. If we could give this place a zero star rating that wouldn't be enough for what we had to deal with tonight. We had a reservation for a private birthday party for my son that was booked over a month ago. The communication with the sales department was great up until we gave our 50% deposit. Leading up to tonight's reservation I had little to zero communication regardless of the number of times I emailed and called Laura Cervantes in Group Sales (Corporate). Our reservation was set for today, December 17th from 4pm-7:30pm. We arrived at 4pm to prep for our first race at 4:30pm, they ran late but that was totally ok as we know things can get backed a little. Everything was going smoothly until we finished our last race and suddenly one of their workers came up to us five minutes before 6pm telling us we had to leave by 6pm because they now had a private booking with a famous entertainer taking over the whole race track/arena. No one notified us when we checked in or throughout the races. Our group of kids were still waiting to eat and sing happy birthday, etc. She allows us to stay and eat but there was no food ready to be served until we asked them to bring it out several times. When they did bring out the food it was cold. We had requested additional food when we confirmed our reservation again earlier in the week--that too was not provided. They rushed us out, refuse to let us stay for the time we had paid for, but also refused to refund us and according to them they could only discount $10 per kid. Soon after they called Burbank PD claiming we were refusing to leave and claimed we were trespassing onto their property--the audacity! This isn't about a refund but the poor and disgusting customer service, greed, and the complete disregard for a contract that was agreed upon and paid for. This entertainer/rapper showed up with his entourage smoking weed, drugs walking freely while 11yr and 12yr olds were trying to just have a great time celebrating our son's birthday. Our son's birthday was ruin and their GM Joseph Wardrapper didn't give a damn about any of it. His own employees there tonight said he was awful and they couldn't stand him. Clearly the GM was responsible for the double booking tonight disregarding our reservation, poor communication, his own greed, and lack of professionalism by everyone present tonight. Please don't waste your time or money in this business that treats their customers like sh*t the minute a celebrity walks through their doors. I'm writing this review based on how poorly I was treated as not even a customer but just as a person. I was put in a group of people that were advanced and the race was going fine until after I crossed the finish line. To be honest i wasn't fully aware IF my foot was pressed down on the petal all the way or not, however, my kart was already slowing down in speed after i crossed the finish line. I never stepped on my brakes but i guess i was halfway on the throttle without realizing bc im pretty short. Anyways, I was hit by a person still going full speed after he crossed the finish and honestly that impact was so strong it did give me whiplash and the back of head still hurts even hours later. I was asked if i was okay by one of the employees and then after the advanced driver who hit me just said to me "you should've done that". I tried to explain what happened to him but decided to try and brush it off because it's my first time there and there might be something that i could take at fault. After the race ended an employee said to me "don't everrr do that again" but kind of with an attitude like he was super annoyed. Again i tried to explain what happened but he literally had no sympathy. He then kept explaining that i was in the wrong and how much i should've done what i did. I was really annoyed about that interaction i actually wanted to leave right there and then. I still stayed for my last race but after that i just felt uncomfortable being there. If i'm not mistaken the advanced group i was put in the go karts were at max speed. If someone is so advanced and does this a lot , wouldn't you think they would be mindful of other drivers who are not on the same level as them. Hi, we'll start with the positives. We booked my daughter's 13th birthday party here. She had started at a new middle school, and these were her new friends. The kids enjoyed the races, but there was NO FOOD OR DRINKS for teens, and it was super embarrassing for our family. The room that we had reserved was double booked, but thankfully we decorated the table in a center area and brought our own hors d'oeuvres. They were also over booked on the food orders. We bought all of the real party food from the venue. The food came out after the party was over. We kept waiting for the food, and kids started going home, so we didn't even get to cut the cake. When the food finally came, it was disgusting. We had to throw it away because it was not edible, sad soggy chicken tenders. The staff let us get an extra race, which was very fun (though it was late and we were tired). Here's the takeaway: The racing is fun, but I do think they throttle your speed. Bring your own decorations and use the tables in the shared space. Pay whatever extra to bring in outside food, then you should be able to have the party that you were hoping for. The races are double booked so build in flexibility to eat first or race first to adjust to the chaos of the day. read more

I don't blame the staff because they are obviously not well trained or well compensated. This is a corporate management issue. THE BRAKES DIDN'T WORK ON THE CAR BEHIND ME! The cars can reach a max speed of 48 mph. I don't know how fast the guy was driving when he rear-ended me, but it was on my first lap of my first race. I had bought three races and had trouble finishing the first one. Management said that my other two races would not be refunded and were not transferable. But that they would stay in my account and never expire. Even though the driver said "my brakes weren't working" which makes me never want to come back. They offered me no ice, didn't eject the driver, and showed no sympathy. The one positive from this experience was that I discovered a good massage place for my upper back and neck due to whiplash. Big NOPE from me. Came at 1:40 on a Sunday, registration & check in were easy enough, there were 3 of us. Looked like there were a few parties ahead of us so we figured it would be a few rounds before our turn- no problem. We checked out the venue (NO AC for this huge warehouse type spot) - only in the party room, which is reserved for parties- so you're sweating like you're sitting in a sauna waiting for your turn. We went to the arcade to pass the time, watched the juniors do their round and then when we saw people who had paid before us go up we decided to ask how long till our turn. Their answer? They called us and we "missed the race" and the next available spot was in 40 min. Mind you, we're coming up on an hour of (patiently) waiting. We have unique names and were obviously waiting for our turn- there's no way we missed our names being called and FURTHERMORE they mentioned it was quickly after we had checked in- if that's the case the LEAST they can do is say "hey your race is in the next 15 min or so, stay close" OR do a FINAL CALL... nothing, nothing, Manager on shift + 2 other girls working were generally friendly, but didn't seem to care at all and after reading reviews it's probably cuz they're used to these kinds of complaints. Got a refund and left- didn't sign up for a sauna and no carting experience. Unfortunate cuz it's a cool spot with so much potential but damn what a fail. read more

Soooo seeing all the previous reviews makes sense now. My boyfriend and I recently went for a friend's birthday celebration. It was just us 4 (her and her boyfriend as well). We each bought 2 races. Then ordered food while we waited to race. The food took FOREVER to come out - and mind you there was barely anyone there (it was a weekday night). 45 mins went by and our food finally came. They said they were short-staffed... but it takes almost an hour to melt cheese on chips and heat up frozen chicken tenders? Mkay. Once it was time to race, the woman (Shane or Shaun - I don't remember which one but yes that is her name), she gave us a whole like 10 min schpeel about how racers from around the world come to this place, there's no drifting cars when driving, no bumping or ramming other cars, they watch us closely, etc and how they can tell the difference between accidentally trying to squeeze through a pocket to pass or legit trying to bump someone. She made it seem like K1 Speed was serious about it. We get our helmets on, get to our cars and strap in. Mind you, during the entire schpeel, there's this maybe 9? 10? year old curly haired boy, doing tasks like he works there. Getting his gear, using the computer, etc. My group and I were like does this kid work here?! So we get to driving, and this kid is RAMMING AND BUMPING EVERYONE. Now, I get it if it was an accident and you wave your hand to say sorry as you go by (which did happen) but he just rammed into my car, my friends' cars and others. My boyfriend said it happened to him and he did it back. That kid was SOO annoying. I told a worker about it and the worker said that that kid is an ASSHOLE. So apparently this kid acts like he runs the place. I don't know if he's the owner's kid or what. But after that first race, I didn't want to do the second. Thankfully the kid didn't race in the second so my group enjoyed the race a lot better that time. All and all, this place could be more fun, cooler, FRIENDLIER. This place is HORRID! Several times we have driven out there (over an hour away) and had been turned away. Every time we had called, we were advised that a reservation was not necessary. Once arriving, we were asked if we had a reservation (even though told we didn't need one), and were turned away due to not having one. We've been to other K1 locations and this location in Burbank is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. The saying goes: it starts from the top. The manager is absolutely incapable of managing her staff, the facility and it's events. It is a shit show from registration, cashier to race queue area. Manager blamed it all on Corporate and says it's "not her problem" because she can't do anything that that corporate does. How can this person get promoted to be a manager? She admittedly been facing at least 100 complaints throughout the morning but yet she does nothing to resolve issues. She compared her corporate office to be the "government" that does nothing. There is no coordination between the registration, cashier area to the race queue. They do not inform walk-ins that they either have no chance in getting in or at least a 4 hour wait. There is no visible list on who goes when. People who walked in way after us got to race before we did. The race attendant and her manager had absolutely no clue. My patience was wearing thin so to avoid any confrontation, I sent my 10-yr old son to check his place on the queue. I observed the process just to make sure nothing inappropriate happened. The manger responded to my son's inquiry by stating "I'll be wasting a lot of my time if I have to answer questions like yours". I decided to walk to the cashier and informed her that we're done waiting and wanted a refund. The attendant's immediate response was "awesome"; no apology or any resolution offered. Manager eventually authorizes refund and states "what else do you want? You already have your refund ". Did she honestly think that getting the money that already belonged to me was my purpose going yo their facility? No apology for the ruined quality time that I was supposed to have with my boys.
