My son has been coming here for years and has been dedicated to racing in the junior league and has a real passion for it. But the karts at this location NEVER work correctly, they are constantly breaking down and ruining the whole experience for all of the kids. They are also continuously letting a kid who is clearly not the eligible height limit to drive the karts in the league and giving him preferential treatment and letting him choose his own cart (because he says he can only reach the pedals in one which means he is clearly too short to even be in the karts in the first place) We have spent countless hours and money here but as this keeps happening over and over again we are looking into some new options for our son tocontinue racing where he can actually get a full race in without the carts dieing or slowing down constantly read more

overall ... decent, The karts were in good condition staff was courteous and professional, they did their part to keep things moving, explain the rules, and make sure everyone was safely buckled in. Great place for first-timers or casual racers. the racing is heavily dependent on traffic. The track doesn't allow much room for overtaking, so you're at the mercy of the people in front of you unless you luck out with a faster heat. treat it like a time trial. Such a sad experience. Took a 10 year old to go kart for a couple hours. He was told that despite being 57" he could not go on the adult go karts. No kids were here, so they told him he'd have to ride the Junior karts alone. They would not let me ride the junior karts with him because I was "too tall" despite us being the only people there. I only ended up here after a bad experience. I now see why this place has such low ratings! WHOA! No one wants to work here. We arrived during opening hours and discovered that the place had experienced a power outage. It seemed like all the power had been restored and the place was lit up. The workers kept turning away paying customers, saying it will be a while, even though it seemed like everything should have been up and running within minutes. We even compromised and asked if we can utilize the arcade room. And we were denied. All the games were on and working. So we walked away, thinking to ourselves, "HEY MAYBE there's something we DON'T KNOW. OH WELL, WE WILL BE BACK." As we made our way to our car, an employee showed up and told us the power has been back on it only takes a couple minutes for everything to start working, it's QUICK. WELP! We live nearby and I've been many times with my 14-yr-old. We pretty much always have an amazing time due to the truly wonderful, professional, and extremely helpful staff. Weekends can be a little more hectic and require patience with rotating races in amongst the birthday party groups, but that's to be expected and guests should plan accordingly. We like to come when they first open, especially on weekdays w/ no school. We have both seen our race times and skills advance significantly in a short amount of time due to the enthusiastic and incredible advice from a staff that truly wants their guests to have the best time (Rafi and the 2 Daniels are the best!). Life isn't perfect and challenges arise, but when guests treat the staff the same way they want to be treated, with respect, kindness, patience, understanding, and grace, all gets resolved to our satisfaction and we keep coming back. We had a party for my son's birthday. The kids loved the racing. However the drinking water situation is unbelievable and unsafe. They gave each kid a ticket for one drink. Great. They told me in advance we were not allowed to bring ANY food or drinks into the building and they may check my bags in case I tried to bring anything in. No worries. I figured they would have enough to provide. I found out when we got there that they don't have a drinking fountain. But they sell water for $4 a bottle. Between races, the kids were sooo thirsty they used their drink tickets. I tried to buy more tickets, but was told nope can't do that. The kids were running around a lot. And later they got thirsty again, and especially when they ate the food, they needed water. I asked for water and was told I would have to pay-- $4 per bottle. For 14 kids that would be $56. WTAF. Water is essential (and it's basically free out of the tap) and it's highway robbery to force people to pay such an exorbitant price for water! Eventually, I was lucky enough to get the general manager to allow an employee to bring us some small cups of water. It was highly irregular and not usually allowed and we were lucky the GM was there that day. Aside from that, the staff tried hard to pay attention to our party, but the host had nine other parties happening at the same time. He tried but It was very hard for him to give us the attention that we needed so we had to ask 3x for anything like food service and cake and the podium awards. Eventually we got it all, my son had a great time and that's what matters. read more

I was hoping to have a happy updated review. We came here on August 5 again for the Tuesday once a month League racing for teens. We signed in and paid at 5:50. They let us know that at 6:30. They would start the races which they did around 6:30. They spoke to the children and then the races began. I was actually surprised everything looked to be running great races were going well. I didn't see almost any accidents. I didn't see any carts being Exchanged or broken. And he is the HUGE downfall. At 8 PM I started to notice they were doing regular races so I went to the front to see when they were gonna call My Son and they couldn't find him in the system when they found them. They say oh you're here but they never unenrolled you in a race. And of course unfortunately My Son missed the competition. They told me they could add him to a regular race, but we'd have to wait two hours mind you we had already been waiting two hours. I asked for a manager no manager was available. I asked for a refund. They said a manager needed to give a refund I spent over $100 and not to mention My Son missed his game and I left work early in order to attend to this since it's only once a month and my son loves coming. My Son was so disappointed. He was so excited about this day as it's only once a month and he left crying and disappointed and heartbroken. Called the next day. I spoke to the manager they were able to give me a refund on just the race, obviously not and all the money that we also spent there by coming. This K1 really needs to get it together!! I will never go back to K1 Speed; you guys deserve all of the other Yelp reviews already posted. Lackluster performance by staff but I had one decent "race". I had signed up for 3 races as this was my first time, did not understand there would be a VERY long interval between races. Had another commitment so could not have done 3 even if efficiently sequenced; so I feel oversold by the staff person that sold the race tickets. The second "race" was a bungled disaster. Overcrowded (~18 karts compared to the first race with ~7), multiple stoppages for mechanical issues. I was T-boned by one driver at full speed and she was not even blue-flagged. Your system may work for teenagers with nothing better to do but I would warn all drivers 25 years and older that there are issues that diminish the overall experience. read more

I've been a loyal customer at K1 Speed, spending hundreds of dollars on races, but my recent experience was beyond frustrating. I've raced in leagues and understand the rules, but at this location, Dennis (the bald guy/track operator) unfairly slowed down my kart in two separate races. The impacts weren't my fault--aside from one minor hit--yet I was penalized while reckless drivers went unchecked and kept hitting me. Another racer, a dad in the same race, had the exact same issue. Came on a holiday and it was completely booked-understandable. They told us our queue was 2-3hrs. We came back in time just for them to tell my friend it would be another 1hr20min wait. I personally went to the counter to talk to them and the employee said it would be a 50min wait which is completely different from what they told my friend. Not sure what is going on with their scheduling but if it's going to be a longer wait than what they tell customers, they should be more honest. While I was doing my second race, I notice my kart kept losing power, I think one of the employees were messing with my go-kart causing it to lose power constantly during the race! I was definitely getting hater vibes from them. So this lead to a driver smashing into me from behind at full speed. I hit the back of my head pretty hard. I would have given 0 stars. This is from a kid themselves. Me and my friends waited for an hour with our class who was also racing. Finally when it's our turn, we get in the cars and learn the signals and we are all so excited, but a cart breaks down and the employee says, " i need a volunteer to go in the last race instead." And when he says this he scrolls on a screen with all our names on it. It is in alphabetical order and my name starts with a Z. He scrolls to the bottom and says, " whose name is Zelda." He then says, " are you okay with going in the last race." This put pressure on me because i knew if i said no absolutely not somebody else would be out and be mad at me. So i said, " no but i mean it doesn't seem there's much of a choice " He is completely insensitive and says, " ok you'll go last." I walk away from my friends sad, and disappointed. I say i want to leave. What's worse is this was after our last day of school had ended and this terrible employee ruined it for me. In the end, they did all the races without me and i left, even after reviewing all the rules and getting excited and now very frustrated. NEVER EVER COME HERE. EVER. ZERO STARS - PLACE IS UNETHICAL AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU!!! This company is all about greed. I showed up to my nephews party which was booked from 4pm - 7:30pm. This company refused to give all of the kids the food that was paid for, they turned off all of the power to the basketball hoops and said the kids couldn't stay, they had to get out early. I told them we would not leave unless we got the full experience of what we paid for. I asked for a refund- which was denied. What were we to do with a bunch of kids that were dropped off for a birthday party that was supposed to run thru 7:30pm and was getting kicked out at 6pm all because they said a rapper needed the facility!!! When we refused to leave they called Burbank PD, and they came to where all of the kids were located, scaring the kids. This place was interested in greed and accommodating a bunch of WK entourage which was stoned out versus being ethical and honoring their contract. We weren't the only family they kicked out early, but we were the only ones that stood up against their greed. Don't come to this venue - shame on you for calling the Black and White on us just to leave early because you double booked and wanted to accommodating Mr. Black and Yellow because he's a rap mogul and has money and fame status You should be ashamed of yourselves. Total waste of time and money!!! Highly disappointed with the race carts and the obvious favoritism from the staff controlling the speed of the carts. While racing, the cart continually slowed and it took several seconds to accelerate. Then on the next race i watched how two teenagers were racing, it was very obvious they were friends of staff members, zooming by way way faster than the other two carts in the race bumping each other into the walls and the other drivers, clearly those teenagers cars had no speed control. read more

K1 speed is a such a fun activity to do with friends! I've been here pre-Covid and it looks sooo much better now...they've really made improvements. The track is bigger and nicer, they have a full arcade, restaurant style seating area and bar for food and drinks. I would take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. You have to remember when you come to this type of place, there is a chance you will get bruised based on how well you drive and how well others around you drive. It's not bumper cars but you certainly will get bumped every once in a while. These electric carts are FAST, so you have to be careful. The staff was all very friendly and they give you rules and instructions prior to getting on. They also have someone watching the track to give you queues if you need to go faster, let ppl pass you, warn you etc. I think they did a great job. We went on a Saturday night at 9:30 pm. It wasn't too busy at this time and we were able to do back to back races. They got us seated within 10 minutes of arriving and signing in. I love how this location is in Burbank (not a busy area), free parking lot, and easy to get in and out. Would definitely recommend! read more

Terrible experience. The employees do not know what they are doing. I am a new customer and went there with my son for the first time. I signed up through their computers but then they would not let me check in because their machines were broken (both of them) and I could not sign the waiver for my son. This was Saturday and instead of fixing it they just let it be like this. They kept on telling me to try online through the app which does not give the option to sign online. At the end they could not figure out and they told me a bs lie that they are fully booked anyway to get rid of me and I should come back another day. They should not treat new customers like this. I had recently gone to the location in Culver City and had an amazing time and expected this location to be just as fun. Unfortunately, I left the location unsatisfied and wishing I would have gotten a refund. I had a really bad experience with one of the employees. The go kart stopped working in the middle of the race. She was incredibly rude to me while trying to figure out what was wrong, sort of blaming me when it turned out to be an issue with the kart. So I did not even get to finish my race. The other employees were nice though. Overall, the karts are not as advanced as the ones in Culver City as you can't adjust the pedals, the reverse mechanics aren't as clear, and the kart doesn't speak. The track itself also isn't as exciting and is very simple. But it's possible my disappointment was due to the great experience I had at the Culver City location and this location is satisfactory for people who visit for the first time. read more

We were here last year and we bought 150$ worth of races and the place was super busy. We had to wait 3 hours and after the manager did us a favor and let us race two races. We decided to use the balance for the next time that we come. Here we are today coming over with very high expectations and excitement and the credits we had disappeared and our account was deleted. The manager said he's sorry and could do nothing about it so we asked if we lost all of our credits and he said shamelessly yes. Amazing experience, went on a Friday night expecting it to be a little packed but there was hardly anyone there, brought extra money to play arcade games while we waited for our group to be called but didn't even have tim to play arcade games and was the first group to be called up. The workers were fast and excellent. They got food games karts everything, not a bad price to race on high fast and reliable karts. Had a little injury that could have been prevented but staff quickly stopped all of the karts and rushed over to make sure everyone was okay. Reserved for a party of 13 people. It started off slow, which was fine as we were reserved for 9pm and had showed up at 8:15pm. However staff was typically missing or not super helpful behind the counter when registering/checking in. We go karted from 9pm to about 10pm/10:15pm. It was expected that our private event space AND we were told that our event space will be ready at 10:30pm. Not only was the space NOT ready by 10:30pm, the food wasn't even ready. After asking numerous times about the ETA of the food that I paid for, keep in mind we were continuously told it was coming out in 2-3 minutes, it finally came out at 10:50pm. Staff was not helpful at all. They did provide plates, but were so unhelpful with everything else. Did not help set up the cakes I brought for my birthday, did not provide even a knife to cut the cake, nor did they provide utensils or cups. Thank goodness I happened to bring my own plates, cups, and utensils just in case. ON TOP OF THAT, as the K1 speed staff was so late with the food, we were then approached by one of the staff trying to push our party out as we were eating and this is what the staff said and I quote "I hate to be that guy, but your party is going to have to leave soon." Our party would've been OUT of the building if we had received our food at 10:30pm as we had reservations for karaoke afterwards which we were late to due to K1 "speed's" SLOW SERVICE AND STAFF. First and last time booking a party for K1 speed. Fun activity, terrible service. Don't even get me started on how they gave me two bills and tried to get an astronomical tip on both bills when service was inadequate and undeserving. read more

We had our work holiday party at K1 Speed Burbank last Friday and had an absolutely AWFUL experience with the customer service, specifically from the manager on duty Kara. I have been in communication with Selena from corporate for weeks, organizing the itinerary and the catering for the event and the staff at the Burbank location either was not given that information or deliberately ignored everything we discussed. I was told our event including the racing and access to the private room would begin at 7:30pm and the catering we ordered in advance would be ready and waiting for us at that time. However, the staff called us for our first race at 7:00pm before our whole party was even present which caused a lot of confusion. We thought we'd be in the room for a bit first to settle in and greet everyone as they arrived, but instead we were thrown straight into the race with no warning. Next, our room and the catering were both unacceptably late. We didn't get into the room until at least 8:00 and the catering came out later than that. Myself and other members of our party repeatedly checked on the room availability and the catering and the staff was very unhelpful. We were told multiple different ETAs from different staff members and no one seemed remorseful for being late. Our party also was supposed to come with 2 free drink tickets and a monetary credit for concessions for each person. I assumed, these would be given to me when I checked in however I had to ask to get the drink tickets and the staff NEVER gave us the credits. Finally, when the staff gave me the bill at the end of the night, it included the entire party and the catering. I had put down a deposit for half the group in advance and the catering was included in the fee which I had to explain to no less than 3 different employees before they adjusted the price. To reiterate, the customer service was ABYSMAL. You would think this venue does multiple parties a week, if not a night, and would have it down, but the staff was so lost and unhelpful and the manager's attitude did not go unnoticed by our entire party. K1 speed is an amazing place for birthdays, a place to spend in your free time, or a place to race others. The kids and adults have different go karts, and there are multiple levels of speed for each. The go karts are electric, and safe, if you crash. The track consists of several turns, and you can take private lessons with an instructor. K1 speed also has an arcade, with lots of games like PAC-MAN or the Simpsons. read more

My husband wanted to celebrate his birthday at K1 with his friend so we decided to come here on Memorial Day. IT WASNT EVEN BUSY WHEN WE ARRIVED. We registered the waiver, stood in line, paid for the races and was told it would be a 1 hour and 40 minute wait. We did our due diligence and waited over 2 hours and 15-20 minutes to be called. The manager actually told my husband, his friend and I that they would be called next. SO WE WAITED PATIENTLY. As races were being called back I went up to one of the coworkers and I had asked when will my husband and his friend will be called back. The guy said 2 more races and then it'll be my husband and his friend. So about 20 minutes more then I wanted clarification of why we need to wait longer ??? The guy wouldn't even look at me straight in the eye. So I already knew this was going to be an issue. He said he's just a replacement of his manager and doesn't know why when he's the one regulating announcements. I walked away from him. I stood at the counter where the lady was ringing people up for races but even she didn't want to acknowledge me or ask me if I needed anything. So I made my husband and his friend stand in line so I can speak to the manager since the manager was helping customers out. There was a couple in front of me waiting to be rung up. While waiting in line the guy who told me my husband and his friend were 2 races ahead came up to me while I was in line to speak with the manager and asks me to make a decision whether or not they want to race. To me he already sounds stupid. I told him in the beginning we already paid for our race and we haven't got called to race. But ALL OF A SUDDEN he wants to honor it right when we're in line to speak with the manager. I'm just so upset with their unprofessionalism. Thank god we don't live in this area to ever come back here again. It was 8:30pm when large groups started entering and they got time to accommodate them but can't accommodate 2 people when we waited HELLA LONG. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

Our group event here was just okay (5/10). The staff didn't exactly roll out the red carpet. It's clear they're just going through the motions. It's just another day. They were late on the schedule more than half an hour. I have talked to the manager and sales person before that a few times they told me that I don't need to bring anything they will provide us with everything we need which are plates forks napkins etc. They didn't do that. Thank God I had plenty cutlery and everything I needed including knife for the cake. The size of "large" pizza was also disappointing. Won't be returning anytime soon. I unfortunately had the same experience as all the other 1 star reviewers. This place doesn't deserve to be in business. Came for a facility buyout party which is $$$. While the interior is spacious, it became extremely warm during the hours of the party (12-2:30). Even some of the older folks were talking about how hot it was. The back room with the arcade was even worse. Everyone was sweating back there. No airflow, AC, or fans. Very uncomfortably stuffy. Now on to the customer service. It is just plain awful. Young staff acting stoic and disinterested in providing a good experience for their guests. I registered my kid for a race. About 20 minutes later he was called for the race. As he was racing, I walk to the front desk and ask if I can sign him up for another one. I was smiling and nice about this honest inquiry, and was met with two female staff who looked me up and down as if I had asked them for a million dollars, asked for my kid's name, and assured me they had him down for two races. Because "we try to get everyone in for at least two races". Verbatim what she said. Literally 5 more rounds go by (about 1 hour) and my kid asks the gentleman on the track when he would be able to go. He said "not the next one but the one after. I promise you are in the second group after we do cake". Singing and cake ensue, and then the next round of riders is called up. As my kid is gearing up with his head cover for the last round, the gentleman on the track says "sorry kid, we ran out of time and that last round is canceled." Are you serious?! After all that lip service and waiting over an hour between rides (again, for a private facility buyout party with limited guests and not open to the public), you couldn't get him on a second ride?? My kid left the party really sad that he couldn't get a second round in after 2 hours at the party. Such a bummer. No genuine apology. Agree with another poster about hater vibes from the staff. So bizarre! Lastly, the arcade had some games that were malfunctioning. The screen on one game displayed "ticket error, please see attendant" the whole duration of the party. I brought it up with the front staff again, who again looked as if I was asking for something outrageous. I mean- it's an honest question folks! One female looked blankly at me for 15 seconds before turning to the tall brunette manager, who said that a third party owns the games, and there is nothing they can do about it. She acted like she was doing me a huge favor to offer me a few credits back on the game card. I thanked her and my kid asked how many credits? She said at least two games. My kid goes to play and womp womp, 35 credits were issued which is barely one lower end game (most are 35-45 credits). We do not plan to be back, and I do urge other potential guests to think twice before going to K1 if you value your time, money, and respectful conversation with staff. read more
