The fam and I decided to have a fast and furious day at K1 Speed. The establishment is big and clean. They have a consession stand, an arcade room, and plenty of seating inside. Ample parking available outside. We arrived before noon on a Saturday. There were already groups racing and waiting to race, but the place wasn't packed. Check-in was smooth. We each had to sign a waiver, pay, then choose our head wraps. You pay per race: 1 Race - $22 2 Races - $35 3 Races - $48 We bought one race each for myself and my SO and 3 races for the little speeder. There was also another fee. I believe it was a yearly fee of some sort. You just pay for it once. We all wanted to race together, but adults and children are divided into separate races. An attendant alternates the races between children and adults. As first time drivers, we received a briefing on rules and safety. The gokarts are electric powered and easy to maneuver. A big screen right above the finish line displays your ranking throughout the entire race. Each session lasts about 10 minutes. After each race, you can pick up a Race Result Sheet at the counter. It shows your time, speed, and rank against other drivers. It also provides a graph picture. Pretty neat. We didn't try the food, but I saw the usual snacks: popcorn, nachos, soda, etc. Overall, we had a great time. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our little speeder had so much fun and loved getting to see his ranking go up with every race. Before we left, we took pictures at their race awards podium. Fun place for the family!

    What a mess

What a let down. Terrible experience, went two laps at full speed and the rest were all stopped multiple times and going maybe 3 mph. Could've just been a bad mix of bad drivers but wow. They should've offered everyone their money back. Dirty bathrooms. Every stall was a mess, and you can't make out or read any of the beers/beverages because they are so far away from the counter and up on the wall. The employees all seem lost and untrained. Definitely some things to change.

Visit date 2/23/2019- We really enjoyed! The race track was really big with much space. Inside the place was big as well. They have adult and kids racing on the same track but at different times. While one is racing start on getting the next group ready. You have to pay $5.00 that cover your annual membership fee and it also come with a mask. Don't go there hungry. Now the food could be better. It just did not look right so we just had chips and soda. Location and everything else was perfect. You can have a birthday party's there

This is a great place to have some fun. The staff is great and they take care of all the safety. They do have some games and food options as well.

Even the front door was fast.

Best Mother's Day gift ever! My amazing son surprised me with my first-ever visit to K1. He and his buddy had been a few times before and always had great things to say, so I was delighted to try it. We arrived, and found very few other drivers there. (Bonus: if you purchase during the week, it's cheaper.) This was GOOD for me, since I wanted to learn without getting bumped around a lot. The staff was extremely impressive, professional and helpful. In particular, Tyler was there. Now I'm not sure exactly of his official title or role, but I think it's got to be something like, "Master Leader in Charge of Making Sure Drivers Are Happy." At any rate, they got us checked in, educated us on the flags and cars, and let us loose. WOAH what a ride! Now they tell you not to drift, but dirty little secret: I drifted a little (read: a LOT), and it is the best! Shhh - don't tell anyone. That'll be our little secret. They'll never know. I really don't want the drift-police to come get me, so keep that just between us. At any rate, the cars were well maintained, clean, and powerful. With lots of torque. Not super sure what "torque" means but I've heard it before and thought I'd throw it in for good measure. Am sure these cars have it, whatever it is. What made it even more fun was that the different cars were not all exactly alike, so I had a better chance of not coming in last every time. Helmets seemed clean and non-stinky (bonus), and the staff on the track was watchful and very knowledgable with their flag-waving skills. (No, really, you guys were great.) Did you know if you go and race and buy a lot of races and don't have time to race them all that weeknight, they'll let you save your extra races on your account for the next time you go - even if you go back on a weeknight! BONUS! So they don't let you take pix while in the track area, so no fun to show there, but here's a pix of us outside the front door. Great fun at the front door. Lovely front door. Sorry, it's all I got. Hey, here's an idea - wear a gopro atop your helmet when you go. Tyler, can we do that? It would make me happy, and you're in charge of that, remember? OK, so go. Race. Enjoy. And tell Tyler I said hi.

The staff were consistently respectful at each ride and made sure all riders were safe and securely fastened before the rides began. The only thing I didn't particularly enjoy was the cost of food and beverages. However, I appreciated that they had a refillable water station available, so I recommend bringing an empty reusable water bottle to refill there. All in all, the park was clean, and I appreciated the security at the entrance. Parking was easy since we paid extra for preferred parking. We had kids with us, so it made the walk to and from the car much more convenient.

It may not completely be Carowinds' fault, but it would be nice if they made sure the chargers are serviced and working properly. We also wanted to try some of the food in the park, but the lines were extremely long, so we ended up skipping it. I'm not really a coaster rider, but I still enjoy visiting the park for the atmosphere and entertainment. One of the highlights was Viva La Fiesta -- the dancers were so energetic and fun to watch. We also grabbed some fudge, which was really good. Despite a few inconveniences, we still had a nice visit overall.

So I will try not to compare the two and just review this location, but there may be some comparisons. Pros: 1. Magiquest: this was definitely my girls favorite thing as Poconos only has one game. Here they have several different types of magiquest, so this consumed most of their time! I had a slightly hard time figuring it out but my husband and older daughter figured it out quick. One of the standouts here!! 2. VR and laser tag. My kids LOVED this especially the VR. And they have games for all levels. 3. Staff: while at times it didnt seem there was enough staff, the ones we dealt with, were so friendly and helpful. 4. Pool: Not comparing it to the Poconos, the water park was fun and the girls loved the outside pool 5. Location: if you dont want to spend money on food and snacks there...there is everything nearby! You cannot beat the location! Cons: 1. Water Park: So while it is great: it is small!! My older daughter did get a little bored after a while and due to limited staff, one worker would often be working TWO slides making lines move extremely slow. By it was still fun. 2. It wouldn't be a review if I didn't mention the food. And it is RESORT food not a 4 star restaurant, so I get it. The food in the water park is fine-not fancy but spendy of course. The buffet was my least favorite thing about this resort. Almost $100 for a family of four and the food was not great and the variety was very limited. My kids ate less then half a plate and I was done after half my meal. And drinks were NOT included which blew my mind. We did not go back and ate out after this meal. 3. VR and laser tag: while my kids loved it, their scheduling stinks. It is first come first serve, so we went twice and it was a 2+ hour wait. So they put your name down and call you when it is your turn, it is not a reserved time. So you are kind of wandering around waiting for your number to be called. We were nervous about going to water park in case they called us. And then once u start the VR, it is only nine minutes long!! And it takes almost five minutes to figure out what the heck to do!! And it was $50 for a family of four for nine minutes! 4.Missing parents: as the night goes on, it is a free for all with kids. Idk where the parents are...but it was 10 pm and kids were racing around doing magic quest and shouting and not a parent in sight. I understand this place is for kids....but it amazed me the kids I saw running around alone 5. Avoid arcade if you can!! We always get sucked in and hundreds of dollars later, I have bags full of crap from the tickets they won that I throw in the garbage a week later. Games are SUPER expensive!! And cost!!! Everything is expensive and there are always charges I cant explain on our bill but after going to GWL for years...I have learned to accept them and move on! You cannot get a hold of a physical person concerning your bill and you will never see money back if they over charged you!! Needless to say: if we come back to North Carolina, my girls would like to come back to this location. They had a blast and we made good memories!!

Water park's drain was barely draining (black sludge), food and trash was pretty consistent throughout the indoor part. Outdoor pool was opened this time and so much cleaner and quieter. Food is overly expensive for park quality. Plenty of options all around so we opted to skip the breakfast buffet to save money. We did $50 meal plan to save money and that got us a pizza, a pasta dish, & one bottled lemonade for family of 4. Was looking for a quiet place for business center (like most of hotels) and was informed to use the 4th floor lobby area that overlooked the water park by several staff members as a quiet space for some critical meetings. The area was definitely less traffic but two huge screens that pipes noise throughout was not ideal. No power outlet at all. I understand it's a family park but a business center room would have been nice. I ended up plugging into an outdoor outlet between indoor water park and rope course and pulling up two patio chair (not ergonomic at all). Kids and family hung around yelling during my meetings while they were waiting on members from rope course. Lost my water bottle, filed report, and checked 3x day but no success. After checking and already on the way home I got call and still waiting on them to ship it. Housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. Lifeguard staff wasn't and very understaffed, irritated at kids running wild (where are the parents). Entertainment schedule was very good and variety of options. I hope staffing and cleanliness will improve and looking forward to a business center and fitness center as well!

We went on a Saturday around 11am and there was light traffic getting in, but it moved quickly and flowed smoothly. The parking situation was very organized and quick. The lot is massive but they have staff every step of the way so it was seamless. We walked a little ways to the entrance but everyone is in costume so the people watching started immediately and that was so fun! Before you even enter the gates to the festival they have some cool vendors out front. There was even the Tardis from Doctor Who and I lost my mind with excitement!!! I couldn't believe it!!! That encounter really set the pace for the rest of the day because I was on cloud 9 before we even entered the park!!!! Once we entered it was really like stepping back in time. The festival grounds were clean and the buildings looked in great shape. All the staff I encountered were kind and helpful. There's so much to see and eat. I thoroughly enjoyed a turkey leg, loaded baked potato, roasted pecans and pumpkin ale! Honestly, this was such a great time!!!! I cannot wait to go back next year. We left about 2:30 pm because we really had so much fun in such a short time. This worked out too because we completely avoided the traffic leaving. It was really a perfect trip! Expect to wait in line for anything and everything and arrive early to any shows you want to see because seats fill up fast. I enjoyed the Witch Trial comedy show where they actually chose one of my friends as a volunteer and it was hilarious! The Joust was fun and had some unexpected twists, but the bleacher seats are sooooo uncomfortable. The Falconry show was my favorite. We got to interact with the Raven and give him tips. The birds fly super close to you and might even touch your head when going over. I'd recommend anyone visiting at least once! It's a worthwhile experience. Expect to spend a chunk of change, and you should definitely dress up! Of course, you won't stand out if you don't, so don't worry about that. I appreciated that they had a bottle of hand sanitizer at each table, and a handless door pull in the restroom. What I didn't like was the poor ventilation and the lack of cleanliness in the ladies restroom. The old stretched out disgusting, bowling shoes looked like the literal personification of COVID 19.
