St Patrick' day slow down.... We were in Orlando for spring break and decided to go GO Karting.. took my son 14 and my grandson 10 to the K1 in Orlando. since my grand son is on 58 inches tall, it was one of the few tracks where he was big enough for the faster karts. All the initial paperwork and front desk people were very good. To the RACE: So my son the 14 year old is in the #24 car and once he gets around to the starting line which is almost a lap from where they get the cars of out the pits... he is being passed by everyone and you can tell he is going so much slower... the whole 10 mins.. I'm kinda freaked out.. I just paid $100 for these two to have some fun here and I see he is like in the broken car or something.. So after the race the guy that runs the cars in the middle of the track.. Yeah you know the guy Joe Dirt with the pony tail.. He's like your kid hit the wall 3 times so i had to slow him to level 3 or something? I'm like, He never hit the wall, he was going slow the whole time. So much for a nice enjoying Go-Kart stay.. So we go out and find the Manager (Mike) and I'm like my son's car was broke or something.. WTF can you do for us.. Id like to just get a refund and go cuz that was the most miserable experience of a GO KART I have ever seen. Mind you he was going like 1/2 the speed of everyone else for 10 mins.. and he never did anything wrong.. Joe Dirt the pony tail guy was penalizing the wrong kid. So Mike is like arguing with me about my son hitting the railing.. I said he is 14.. why is is going to lie this other kid was driving like a manic.. You need to just refund me.. He said that is not our policy ... sorry.. I said while his has been a terrible time.. I can't believe I have to argue about this?? So they went one more time with one other person and it was ok and my son never hit and wall etc.. Just ridiculous to have to argue about this.. If he would have just said... Ok he needs to be careful maybe it wasn't him just have them go again. Instead of almost kicking us out of the building cuz my son was almost in tears over everyone accusing him of something he didn't do.. I was like you have that on video can we see him hitting the wall.. cuz i dont think he did.. he's like an honor roll kid and not a trouble maker. So after the next race my son said lets go this has been a TERRBILE TIME, EVERYONE ACCUSSSING ME OF SOMETHING I NEVER DID AND THEN THEY LET THE WILD KICK KEEP RUNNING INTO PEOPLE AND HITTING THE CURB EVER OTHER LAP. I'm a 23 year retired USAF Vet and I would expect more customer service help from MIKE the manager... We got the $50 new member special and I doubt we would ever come back just because we were treated like we did something wrong? The tweens that work there are pretty rude. The karts are ok, but their attitudes stink.

Don't waste your money! First off the place is not big enough for a good go kart track,half of the helmets are worn out, don't have some pieces of cushions, or just plain out broke, the karts are not controlled by the drivers .The carts go to slow to fast to slow to fast it's horrendous,and the worst thing there customer service is terrible they don't care about the customers, they are disrespectful, kick people out for no reason because they don't know rules or even the general basic like God. read more

A great place for kids, teens, families, groups. Clean location, courteous staff. Took advantage of the week day special M-Th $39.99 for 3 races ($60 otherwise). Extra group/party rooms. Lots of comfy couches to chill out on and watch the racers. Would have gave it 5 stars if there had been a better snack bar. read more

The track was ok, I thought it was kind of lame that the guy working can slow people down to let other people pass. I went there with a bunch of friends and we were all racing and they it was kind of fixed because the guy working was slowing people down. Disappointed!!!! Here from Cali, raining like crazy, so off to K1. After short intro off we went. Got stuck behind some yokel, staff flags the let pass flag, I gesture to staff about blocking kart, and three laps later the guy pulls over. They then proceed to stop the whole field because I would not let same fool by. The dude yells at me, threatens to black flag me!!! My friend was bumped off the line twice, which deserves a black flag, by their rules, nothing. In addition, we were not given the full race, as the laat three laps were slowed down for some reason. The staff is clueless, and arbitrary. Once finished I complained to the flag guy, all he wanted to do was cover his butt. We purchased two races, proceded to ask el Colombiano for a refund on the second. He attempted to justify his staff's actions but then realized they were wrong, in addition to not wanting adverse reactions from customers waiting to purchase races, One family gave up on a membership, stating that based on our complaints they were go to try it out first. He refunded the full purchase. Only saving grace, as they state there are NO refunds. read more

Found this place via Yelp! of course! Came here with my daughter and a friend. She's 12, and made the height requirement for the adult race so that made it even better! For the both of us with the membership (required to race) and 2 races a piece it was about $85. Not that bad. I lost track of the number of laps, but it was quite a few and you got a chance to race once on each track (there are two tracks). One has more twists and turns while the other has less. It was my daughters first time driving GoKarts and she did well! The front staff is very pleasant and welcoming when you come in. You go to the computers to create a profile (if it is your first time there). Race times are printed after each race, but also they are emailed to you, which is cool. There is a pool table, a small mini bowling area, and arcade games available in the facility as well. You get a free head cover with your purchase to wear under the helmet so that made me a bit more comfortable with the "community helmet" idea, lol. I wish the tracks were longer, but really it's not bad at all. read more

Got there around 12 pm. Bought 3 races, and got my first one in right away. I was still waiting for my second race at around 2:30 pm. Turns out, my name had been booted out of the system, when I asked for a refund, they told me they couldn't give me one. Wouldn't go again. read more

Overall the experience was good. Can't really flaw much. There was a really bothering problem with the carts however: since these carts are electric, even when you tap the breaks a little the electric motor doesn't allow throttle. Therefore even the slightest breaking would SOMETIMES stop the car completely and set it on a spin. Aside from that nothing was wrong with the experience--bothersome problem though. read more

We had our work holiday party here and it was a lot of fun! The location looks pretty new and all the racing equipment worked great. The bathrooms were out of order for the first hour or so we were there which was pretty bad considering we had 60 people there from as far south as Miami. But they worked it out that we could go to the building next door and the bathrooms were working by the time we left. The staff was so nice and helpful, they made the whole event wonderful! read more

Having some experience at the gas powered equivalent to this, Orlando Kart Center, I thought it would be fun to try this. While the speeds are similar, the experience is quite different. Once they "unlock" the karts full speed they have much quicker acceleration and the track is much slicker so you will slide quite a bit more. Also, the Kart is incapable of accelerating while braking, and the brake pedal likes to stick. As a result being able to pull the brake pedal towards you makes the difference between a quick brake and a full stop on the track. Fortunately, the karts have proper racing pedals that allow you to put your foot between two bars. One for pushing forward and one for pulling the pedal towards you. However, your race experience will depend entirety on your "umpire". I raced a two race package. The "umpire" for the first race ensured that no one blocked but was quite lax on any warnings about bumping, or sliding. Leading to a little bit rough but very fun race. The second race was a completely different experience and it was only 15 minutes later. The second umpire warned us not to put our feet "under" the pedal and during the initial release of the karts he stopped everyone halfway to force compliance. He then proceeded to aggressively flag and warn everyone throughout the entire race. To the extreme of warning people for spinning out on corners when there was no one near them. This lead to a very frustrating and stressful race as many times we were flagged or warned and often could not even figure out why. In short my first race was 5 stars, let absolutely loved it. My second race was 1 star, I would have had more fun walking out. The "umpire" just makes that much of a difference. Edit: A point of clarification. Both the first and second race I participated in had the same Kart drivers. Only the umpire changed. read more

I went with a few buddies and our girlfriends. The ladies behind the counter were professional and very helpful. Although the the employees that operate the karts and tracks were all very judgmental. They were staring at all of the women and looking back and forth between each other and us, laughing and joking. Quite frankly, there was one individual that looked like he was a manager and it was extremely unprofessional how he was acting. Upon getting in the karts and getting ready to go they awkwardly gave eye contact clearly stating they didn't like our presence. Taking into consideration we were a later group of people, they didn't have much to do besides handle us. Between all of the guys, we all did 3 races while the girls did one. With that in mind, while we were on the track you could imagine what all the employees were doing while we were driving. After our second race the girls ended up going outside to avoid being stared and talked about anymore. This is upsetting considering I'm spending $50 for an hour to enjoy my time with close friends I consider family and our group is broken up due to employees that can't handle themselves around women. Very immature and unprofessional. I will not be visiting this location again nor will anyone I went with. Out of all of them you could clearly tell one individual was only encouraging it and the rest would follow. I didn't want to make confrontation cause although we didn't have a party plan or anything it was my friends birthday. With that being said, There are tons of different things to do in Orlando and I would recommend Andretti if you are looking for a professional place ran by adults rather than boys who never grew up. The place sucks now. As a regular that used to go here with a lot of friends before it was "K1 Speed". It was formerly "Orlando Grand Prix" I can tell you its a waste of time and money. 1. Staff is rude, they are not customer centric but more towards making money. 2. Prices rose up about $4 to $6 since the new acquisition. 3. You don't have cool racer names anymore, you are forced to use your real name. 4. They gip you by keeping you slow for 5 to 6 laps before putting you on full speed. This sucks for people like me who like to compete for best lap times. 5. The weekly race giveaways are gone for the top 10 racers with the best times. I would much rather take my friends and money to Central Florida karting. read more

Fantastic venue for company trips, inclusive of people with all activity levels and all types of competitive spirit (: It's probably best for smaller groups, since you can only race with up to 8 people on the track at the same time - and that looked like it could get pretty crowded, depending on the expertise of the drivers - we only had 4-6 people on the track during any race, and that was a perfect number. You get printouts of your lap times, including average and best lap times, so you can compare notes with your more competitive coworkers. Everyone got a kick out of that. We also rented a private room on-site to have a brief pizza party after. If anything, our only complaint is that the large pizzas seemed a little on the medium side, but that's an issue for the pizza place, not K1. All in all, the races were a blast, K1's service was excellent and prompt, and the guys on the track running the races were hilarious! Definitely recommended (: read more
