Max Action Arena offers games such as axe throwing, mini escape rooms, virtual reality and adventure rooms. There is also a bar inside. Some of the activities are first come, first serve and others may require a reservation. I was introduced to Max Action in December and decided to go back this month to check it out with a friend. They have a rechargeable play card that time is added to in order to access the games - this card can also be used at In The Game. We purchased time to try the mini-escape rooms. Some of the puzzles we were able to solve and some we were not able to figure out in time. There were a few issues with some of the rooms, however, once we inquired about it at the desk a tech came to verify and fix the issues with the rooms. The employees were gracious enough to reimburse our lost time with the rooms that needed to be reset. We still had a good time. One thing to know, is that some of the escape rooms require more than one person so going in alone would not work. I would go back to try some of the other activities or to see if I can defeat the escape rooms that we didn't solve. It is a neat place to spend time hanging out with friends. read more

We were at ICON park last month and ran out of time, so we were unable to secure a spot at any of the activities in the Max Action Arena. What's cool about ICON park is if you purchase the Play Pass it is good for a month. Well, here we are a month later using up the last items on several tickets we bought with a group. If you do buy the play pass, I highly recommend coming to the Max Action Arena first to secure your time slot especially in the VR arena because they fill up quick. Its best to get this out of the way before too many people show up since the line to sign up takes forever. You might sign up at 12pm for a 3pm arena time. Since we had several passes remaining, we were able to try our hand at the Krazy Darts game, and the VR Arena. The Max Action Arena also offers Axe Throwing and several escape rooms as well. The dart game was a great way to kill 25 minutes while we waited for our spot in the VR arena. There are multiple themes to choose from such as holiday, western, carnival, tic tac toe and more. The Halloween themed, and western themes were my favorite. You basically throw darts at an interactive projection on cork board wall. At first, it's fun, but I can see how it would get boring after a while. I'm sure it would be a lot more fun if we were drinking and had two more in our group. Two things I wasn't crazy about is how the dart station is situated - you feel like your closed-in and you only get three darts to play with, so you're constantly returning to the dart board after every play. The settings allow you to increase the number of darts between play, but staff only provide three. As for the VR area, this was the highlight of our visit. This was my first time actually doing anything VR related, it was quite exciting and more fun than I thought it would be. The Max Action Arena boasts about having zero latency with their VR system and if it's not, it's pretty darn close to zero latency as far as I can tell. Nancy and I chose "Engineerium" two times, which is like fighting a Zombie Apocalypse inside an industrial engineering plant with moving platforms and elevators. The first time Nancy and I completed it alone, the second time around we had another family of three fighting with us. The goal is to not die, which you can die multiple times and keep playing, and to kill as many zombies by head shot as possible because that is what increases your overall score. When you get to the second floor the game, it separates you from everyone else. I found it is best to get over to your partner as fast as you can so you can cover each other's backs. The Zombies come out of multiple directions and the ones with football helmets on are much harder to kill. My heart was racing and when we got out of here, I was sweating because all this moving around killing zombies. If you are someone who has a heart condition or becomes dizzy easily, I highly recommend avoiding this game. All-in-all I would definitely return to try out the VR area again. The Axe throwing might be fun and I would even attempt one of the escape rooms. The biggest downer about our experience was (1) it takes too long to sign up for one of the activities, (2) the staff member providing training and setting us up with the VR area just doesn't seem like he wants to be there. We could barely decipher what he was saying during the training and when Nancy couldn't see her weapon and kept calling for assistance, he just left her standing there wandering around with unfamiliar equipment, WTF!? (3) the last issue we had is our character names were never uploaded into the system, so when we were playing no one knew who players 1 through 5 were for several minutes, so I am rubbing up against people I just met when I thought it was Nancy, whoopsie! I do like that you can get hints outside of the door and do as many attempts as you want. The buy 2 option was cool so you can mix and match what activities you want to try for $45. What a fun place. I went to the Sip n saver event at Icon Park a couple weeks ago and won tickets for the Max arena. There weren't many people there when we arrived around 11:30am. We didn't make any reservations but were able to just walk in and get signed up for everything. The temperature inside when we went was 89°. The extreme VR course was really fun. I'm not sure if I would do it again because of how expensive it is. However, since I won discounted tickets it was worth it. I did walk into the walls a couple times and into my husband. This was my first time doing a VR game so that's probably my fault. If you haven't done VR before I may recommend the 15 minute experience over the 30 minute experience. With the 30 minutes though we were able to do a few different levels. We did the zombie outbreak and some of the bigger zombies were really hard to kill. I also did axe throwing. They have a variety of games that you can play which I really liked. I felt like the different games evened it out for my husband and I. He's much better than I am at axe throwing. However I was able to beat him in a couple of games. Definitely a fun date night spot. It is a little bit more expensive so just keep that in mind. If you're looking to get drinks I would recommend going during the happy hour times to save some money. read more

Fairly new opened location. Was cruising around the area to kill off time and stumble across this adult playroom. They have a bunch of activities; axe throwing (everyone must have closed shoes), extreme vr, adventure room and a generic escape room. We went in originally for the adventure room and highly advise for people to check out the other options. The adventure room was just a room with themes in each one that you would solve but once we tried to go into some it was confusing and not at all fun. We asked if we could try something else and they were able to accommodate us to another activity which we were very much grateful for. read more

These rooms are nothing like I expected. Simple room that if you accidentally touch something you loose. If you choose to do it have them show you the rooms first. Then decide. My friends and I went to this place randomly while we were in town for a convention. Even though it's not a huge park, it was surprisingly cute and fun to hang out in. There are a lot of VR-related attractions, and they had live music in the middle of the park that was really nice on a spring afternoon. If you happen to be in the area, it's worth checking out for a bit. read more

Came to do the escape room. Whole group paid $225 in total. Everything was broken, 3 workers came in the help us after us yelling help for 5 mins one of us actually had to go outside to get help and turns out the areas were broken and not allowing us to move forward twice. Employee offered a full refund and said let me get my manager, the manager obviously inexperienced said we were lying, that the employee never offered it and nothing was broken. Then threatened to call security when we said that wasn't true and to please bring the employee out to speak with us. Do not even bother going. read more

I was visiting this place for a birthday. We we're a party of nine and Makayla was helping us. She showed us to the room and we ended up waisting all of our time because they didn't set up and unlock the correct door for us. After calling for help through the camera for 15 minutes out of our 20 minutes someone in our party had to go out and grab the worker. Shortly after she came back unlocked the door and said "oh our bad" and walked out. We tried to keep going but again something else in the room wasn't working. We tried calling for help and shortly another worker came in and told us "I'm sorry about that we can give you guys a full refund or more time". We had dinner reservations after so we decided to ask for the refund. The worker grabs his manager and the manager says he can't give us anything but some points for an arcade that was across the street. We spent so much money for a room that didn't work. When we were trying to explain everything he then said we were being hostile and threatened to call security to escort us out if we didn't leave. Even when they have an entire recording of the whole conversation of his worker saying we could get a refund. Also refused to give us his name. So we left with nothing and waisted more than two hunred dollars. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

I'll start by saying concepts like this are popping up all over the place and overly executed but Max Action Arena is the real deal! It was very clean, easy to find staff for help, and overall a great last minute experience. I went on a Sunday afternoon with three friends and we chose to do the adventure rooms and VR bundle. The adventure rooms took a minute for us to warm our brains up but then it was so fun - the alien abduction room was my favorite. I suggest splitting up in two groups with two of the swipe cards and competing who can do it all the fastest! The VR was out of this world, I didn't want it to end! I never felt rushed while spending our time here and the staff was so friendly and willing to explain everything. The pricing was reasonable for being in Icon Park - I highly recommend doing this if you want something fun to do in the area. read more

This place was great. The kids were too young for axe throwing so we just ended up doing the adventure rooms. We were able to solve many of the puzzles in the various rooms with our pass.
