Needed to plan a fun "pre funk" activity for my work all team event for 40 people! Bowling and Billards has been sooo played out....I needed to do something fun that no one has done yet! I started googling like a madwoman and found K1 Speed in Bellevue that was literally a 10 minute drive from my office....so far so good! First of all....it's not cheap. Roughly $40 a person, but the experience is well worth the price!!! James the manger is DA BOMB!!! He took care of everything and was soo accomdating to everthing we needed! We had reservations for 40 at 5:00pm, but all my people showed up at 4:30. NO PROBLEM, James started our racing early! We raced for about 2 1/2 hours and all my guys loved it. They came off the race track sweating, having fun, being competitive! I got more praise by my team, some saying "this is by far the best all team we have ever had " YEAH, HIGH FIVE ME!!! We had The Catering Company, who is an exclusive caterer with K1 Speed cater our dinner. I had a custom package done for my team and they KILLED IT!!! Beautiful Salad with walnuts/cranberries, mixed greens with a raspberry vinaigrette, steak medallions, pan seared salmon with tomato cream sauce, chicken breast with a caper cream sauce, vegetarian lasagna, rolls & butter with tons of small desserts, with soda & bottled water. Went here for a bachelor party -- the non-pole dancing, vomiting bourbon/single malt scotch, losing my pants/virginity/money/dignity part of the bachelor party. 9 Guys 1 Track Yellow head socks (wait....wut?) Great great time. Totally a boys' kind of place...unless of course you are a Danica Patrick type, which of course the boys welcome! (boom) Clean place. The "service" was less than impressive. The few kids working there doted on the "reserved" room, and that left two kids in the "pit area" (running the races) and what appeared to be either a 14 YO girl who looked like a pre-teen boy OR a 14 YO young man with moobs (you figure it out). NO ONE manned the concession stand -- you better be alright quenching your thirst with tepid water from the fountain. AND, be prepared to pay the man, cuz this shtuff ain't cheap. It's super fun, and super fun has a super price. Gals, if you want to try to steer your man away from "other" bachelor party "activities" (you know what I'm talking about...."why do you have sooooo many singles in your wallet (insert name here)?", send your boy to K1 Speed. Great track, fast karts and friendly staff will ensure a return visit. The track is quite technical and fast, and I appreciated the kart being maintained well. The staff were on point with flagging slow drivers. The front desk staff were friendly and recommended the deal they had going and the laugh area is a comfortable space for viewing the racing. Very unfriendly staff. Went with a group of friends and the timing clocks were not working. They basically said you either race like this or you lose your money so we decided to race. I emailed them about it and they were nice enough to add 3 races to my account. So I go back to use them, well, they wanted me and my coworker to pay for a membership and they wouldn't let me share the races with him, it would've cost us close to $75 to use the free races they gave us as a make up gift. This company definitely seems to be stuck in the past trying to take advantage of their customers for every single dollar. It really makes something that should be fun turn into quite a frustrating experience There's much better ways to spend your time with much friendlier people somewhere else. Went today with three friends and had a lot of fun. Though I would say Whirlyball is a small notch more fun, this is fun in a serious way. It takes a lot of concentration - but you get to do stuff you only dream of doing in your own "real life" car. Since we were all noobs, we were hoping to be able to race by ourselves even though we were a group of 4. They said YES! But we'd have to wait 40 min. So we waited the 40 min and they put us in with a group of 4 experts. Why The Face? You do get a cool sheet of stats when you're done. Another amusing fact: it's not really a race, it's all about getting one fastest lap. Your fastest lap is measured against all the other drivers' fastest laps. It's expensive, but as far as first world entertainment (i.e., totally unnecessary and somewhat pointless) - it's a blast! Want to go back with a group of 8, so we won't get stuck with people bonking us or being rude to us on the track. read more

The place is too small. I went here in a group of 6 and they let 8 people race at once. They say that bumping into each other is not allowed, but the other two people who raced with us bumped into us hard many many times and no one batted an eye. In the second race, they bumped into me so violently that I had to quit the race immediately. I still have pain and bruises on my legs one week later. read more

I have been to a handful of K1's in different states and have always had a good experience. This one definitely did not live up to the expectations. It felt more like a little kids play ground than anything. If you are an adult I would definitely not recommend going here especially if you're trying to bring friends- not worth the time or money. Our bday experience at K1 speed on bel- red road was truly a terrible experience. First off at checkin, we were told one of the employees never showed up and the manager had to perform many of the roles with only two others. It was pure chaos and incompetenc! I had eleven 9-10year olds who were not engaged. 3 of the children left the facility and I didn't notice til later when I found them down the street! They did not put in the pizzas until after 6pm (our reserved time was 4:30-6:30) and so we had to Start with cake since again they overbooked and had let multiple parties through before us. Again I understand they were short staffed and they overbooked - but the level of professionalism and their inability to host a bday party (despite k1 advertising bday events) was disappointing and frustrating. I emailed the rep who helped set up the party and received no response. Not surprised, I have a feeling they only receive complaints and bad reviews. K1 needs to make changes/ improvements at the redmond site or not masquerade as an actual bday site. would've like to have given neg stars but again they probably are accustomed to those already. read more

Had a mixup with reserving tickets and time slots online, apparently you can't actually reserve time slots for this location online...even though you actually can do that online. Grace was extremely accommodating to my kid brother, allowing him to race twice when he otherwise would not be able to. Much appreciated! read more

Not the best place to go if you would like good service. We went during our Christmas vacation and the people behind the counter were less than friendly or helpful. The place was sort of empty (7 people in the waiting and some on the track) and still there was a 2 hour wait. There's a gas car race way not too far away. We choose that over K-1. read more

No concern for safety here. They didn't give any safety instructions, didn't check seatbelts, and the track design led to me and several others getting hit from behind. They slow you at the finish line, but people finishing the race can still hit you full speed. When I tried to talk to them after my injury, they said, "you signed a waiver." I had to talk them into even giving me a tiny ice pack. Not worth 2+ weeks of pain from whiplash and a sprained back. read more

Karts suck. Cannot adjust pedal distance which left my legs basically on top of the steering wheel (Im 5'7). Steering is ridiculous, it requires hulk strength to turn. The seat is so narrow I suggest you go on a 2 week cleanse prior to visiting so your bottom can fit properly. Simply awful. Avoid at all costs. The primary issue is the staff. I will give the benefit of the doubt to the person who was attending to us yesterday. I'd like to believe that this person was going through something and wasn't actively trying to be an awful human. Nevertheless, his behavior sent my nine year old daughter into tears and caused at least one other customer to apologize on his behalf. When my family and I arrived at K1 Speed on Sunday afternoon, there were a few people registering in the lobby, but it wasn't particularly busy. I signed in for the three of us who would be driving and waited for our turn to buy races. There were two people in front of us, and it was taking longer than expected. But thus far, no big deal. When our turn came, the attendant (who said that he had just returned from break), pulled up our accounts. We purchased races for each of the drivers, and the person charged my card. At this time, a race was underway and there were only a couple of people waiting for the next race. Based on the crowd - or lack thereof - I would've assumed that we'd be in the very next race. Or maybe the one after that. But to my surprise, the attendant, who was still fiddling with his terminal, said that we had over an hour wait. I asked the attendant, "Why the wait?" His response: There was a large group that just registered *after* us. I asked the obvious next question: "Why do we have to wait for a group that registered after us?" He didn't really have any answer, and he continued to fiddle with his terminal. I wouldn't have felt compelled to write a review if this were the extent of the issue. But it gets much worse. Since we didn't have time to wait for an hour (or more), I told the attendant that we could not stay and wait and that we need a refund. Ideally, he would've told us about the wait before charging us, but the least he could do is provide a refund, given the circumstances. The attendant looked frustrated, but said, "fine" and started trying to process the refund. Minutes pass while he continued to fiddle with his terminal. He started looking frustrated with his terminal. He eventually looked up and asked if I had their location's phone number. Puzzled about the question, I asked, "It's online, right?" This is where this guy just loses it. He starts screaming almost nonsensically. He yelled that he didn't like my "attitude" and that he no longer wanted to help me. Flabbergasted, I tried to refocus him: We just need a refund; no need to lose your cool. But then he started threatening me. My 9 y/o was in tears. This guy obviously had issues, couldn't figure out how to issue a refund, and I can always just get my CC company to issue a chargeback, so I walked out with my family. On my way out, a woman who witnessed this whole thing took the time to apologize for this guy's behavior. Given other reviews for K1 Speed, although this might have been a particularly bad incident, I don't think it's unique or isolated. I worry that management here hasn't prioritized employee training or customer service. Although his behavior isn't excusable, I think it also reflects lack of support. I hope management (or corporate owners) takes this as an opportunity to course correct. I'm a pretty chill guy. I could see this having gone in a much different (possibly violent) direction if I had reciprocated the aggression that I was receiving. To K1: Please take steps to make sure that never comes to pass. read more

I still prefer racing without barriers, but I understand this is a good way to start. Roughly about 40-50 mph for the go karts, the go karts are pretty standard and safe. For trying something new and not terribly far away, come here. You can shoot pool, play a few rounds of arcade games, and drive. Wait til per ride is pretty fast, so you never have to wait too long. A little hidden away along Bel-Red Rd, K1 Speed is just behind Bassett Furniture store. read more

Front counter employee jerked us around saying a party was coming in so we couldn't race for another hour. We killed some time nearby and came back for him to tell us that we still couldn't race. Don't think I'm coming back, it was already kind of expensive for the experience last time I was there. Updated after response from owner: I'm sorry Ryan, but the place was pretty empty both when we were initially there and when we came back. Carts were not running either time (and people were not queuing for next race). Counter guy could have made it happen for us, but just wasn't interested. read more

Hosted my boyfriend's birthday party here and so glad I did! I reserved a private event for 12 people and it was definitely worth it! A few miscommunications when booking with their call center such as cost and timing, but they were able to accommodate and make it work. HUGE shout out to the newer GM for going out of his way to fix the mistake in such a professional manner. We all had an amazing time and highly recommend this place. Absolutely a waste of time and money. Aside from the terrible service and issue I described below, its empty and boring. I paid for 2 races ($50) and on the second lap of the first race, I hit the wall and the employee told me my cart was 'broken' and I had to be pulled for the race. By the way, the 'broken' cart was fixed by employee reconnecting a wire in literally 10 seconds. The carts are clearly designed to 'break' if someone goes too fast. Of course I expected that I would be refunded since I completed exactly 2 out of the 16 laps that I paid for. However, the manager at the front desk refused to refund me, due to 'corporate policy'. So they essentially took $32 from me for literally 25 seconds of racing. They told me to call corporate to get a refund, but the 'corporate' number they gave me just redirects to the closest k1 to your area code so clearly they lied to my face. Even if this place was free, it would not be worth the time it took to get here, unless maybe youre under 12 years old. read more

This was the 2nd K1 I have visited, and it was quite a dissapointment compared to the K1 in Portland/Hillsboro. Just a much smaller, cramped space, very noisy inside. The track itself was tight, just over 2 karts wide and no real passing opportunities because it was constant turns. The biggest downfall of the visit was being told we would have to wait rougly 6 hours for my son to race. We showed up 40 minutes after they opened and had a group of adults and 2 juniors. Told adults have a 2 hour wait, juniors are 6 hours because of a party. Issue is the party was not going on for quite a while, but still told the junior karts had to charge for the party. Really sucks when my 8 year old son loves to do karts and we made the trip to the seattle area to visit friends the day before but let him drive that day, only to be told too bad. I saw no issue with scheduling where they couldnt push in the junior drivers for a race or two just to make it work, but nobody wanted to hear it. read more

I had no fun racing here, they throttle the power output of the kart (it's all electric go karts not gas) based on who they 'feel' is fast on the grid- these are actual words from the organizers. I felt like I was cruising while the others zipped past me. I let them know that my kart felt like it had no power, the coordinator mentioned 'the kart was probably low on charge' and promised a better kart for race 2, which was no different. It really sucks I felt no thrill racing here, while I was being passed by karts with more power. Race here only if you are desperate and too far away from any other location. read more

We booked my son's birthday party here. It was expensive but it was what he really wanted so we did it. Unfortunately, the staff at the Redmond location is awful, they were not assisting with the party at all! Worst of all, the on track staff was not paying any attention at all and allowed multiple collisions to hapen - pile up style - with no attempt to warn or slow drivers, which is what they tell you will happen at the safety briefing. The on duty manager admitted the kids karts were set to drive at an unsafe speed - higher than should have been allowed for their age - and that they were 100% at fault however the general manager Josh is refusing to provide compensation for the seriously dangerous accidents that resulted in kids being hurt and also not compensating us for the lack of service at the party - no party room help as listed in the party booking. Arrived here with office friends with a groupon for 2 races, 1st race was awesome, we were setting speed etc. In the second race they played with the carts and they just wouldnt pick up speed. Took a group of 4 here for teambuilding. VERY fun. These cars are screamers. I was unsure about electric cars indoors. But the tight track is quite fun, and the cars have great torque, speed and pickup...they sound like formula one cars when wound up too. Each race I came away pumpped up and short of breath due to adrenaline rush. They give you lap by lap race result too which is fun to look over. Im a big engine, gas guy...after this experience, I will consider electric cars as a viable alternative for my next car buy. read more

I am sure some people have good experiences here but we were treated very poorly. We called a couple days before to ask if we could arrange a party and were told don't worry just come on in- just make sure to call first to make sure there is no rush. We called just before leaving to make sure and were told very specifically that it was a slow night and they could get us in no problem and even told a time we could fit in. We arrived 45 minutes later and were told that there were a lot of parties that night and they could not fit us in for at least 2.5 hours. We asked why we had been told specifically otherwise on the phone and the manager was disdainful, unconcerned, and clearly stated "That didn't happen." Shocking. I can't remember ever being treated so poorly for asking questions. I repeated what the employee said on the phone, and his name, and told the manager we had just spent $100 each way to Uber to his establishment and they had ruined our party. He got very angry and began demanding we leave. I expected an apology and maybe an invitation to return sometime at a discount. There is no excuse for that lack of concern when dealing with customers. Ever. The manager has issues and needs to go. I am still laughing about the complete shock I felt at his attitude. Be very careful to avoid this situation as it seemed to be no big deal to them and the other reviews seem to verify this is pretty normal. Guessing Groupon is the only thing keeping them alive. I know at this point I am jaded and you may not take this seriously but the track and speed was definitely a child speed situation. I wouldn't consider it an adult activity in any way. read more

If your time is valuable, think twice. I called to ask how long the wait would be for a one person race. The employee who answered the phone said, not longer than 15-20 minutes. We got there, and we ended up waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes! I called ahead of time to prevent this from happening, and yet we ended up waiting for so long! That really turned me off, so I didn't go back for a very long time. Fast forward a year later, I called again to see how long the wait would be. The person told me that they have an open slot between 2:00 and 4:00, so I asked him whether we could reserve a slot at 2:00 to prevent a wait. The answer was that he is not sure. He said that the ONLY WAY to make sure that there's no wait is to physically go there at 10:00 AM when they open, look at the schedule of the day, and write our name down for the open slot, and then come back for the race. I asked him, "why can't I call and put our name down for the open slot?" His answer, "That's just the company policy." How absurd is this? They really need to sort out their scheduling policy. read more

So I came in with family and my kids. The wait was long but reasonable cause it was a busy day so understandable. After we paid quite a bit of money for a few races, we waited more and eventually got called to go race. Their was this girl named Jade I think she has black hair and a septum ring but she helped my kids and I with our helmets. She held the door open for us and she helped my kids get strapped in and she got cut off by this guy Isaiah or Issac or something he's short maybe Mexican black hair well he ended up cutting her off and being rude to her and she told him to help buckle in my kids and he did or so I thought he glimpsed over and don't help her and she apologized for the way he was being and I said it's okay and asked if she was okay and she said yeah so I left it at that when we go out into the track and started racing the races got stopped and I saw the same girl go out on track and buckle my kid into his cart and she started pointing and talking to the guy that was mean and he rolled his eyes and started shaking his head going and went onto the computer after we started again there was a accident it's my kids first time driving so it was expected and the short guy went to my kid and talked to her and told her how to reverse and we went back to racing we ended up finishing the race and my daughter came to me and had tears in her eyes and she said that the track staff was mean to her and I asked what did he say and she said "fucking stupid kid this is how you break you have to push this and make sure to turn can do you that or am I going to have to take you out of this race" I was thrown off because she cussed and I made sure that what he said by asking her again and she said yeah we ended up leaving after because they got busy and the manager wasn't around I wouldn't recommend this place at all especially if you have children not a place for family or worth the time and money if I would have known how the day would have went I would have just took them to the movies or something read more

First of all, this track is too short compared to two other K1 location that I've been to (Gardena & San Jose, CA), Gardena one is twice the size of this track but same price. Another thing I didn't like was they don't do pre-race procedures; going over the rules, what the flags mean, letting others pass, etc. So all the noobies would block the road (it's a very narrow track) making it very difficult to pass and slowing lap time. Save your money and save yourself a headache by going to a different go karting facility. First piece of advice if you decide to come here: Make a reservation. Call and confirm reservation.Then do it again. I've been here twice. We only got to race the second time we came. The first time we came with a large party without a reservation, they told us the wait would be 40 minutes. Then when 40 minutes came and went, we found out that a reservation had come in way late and bumped us to two hours later ... and nobody thought to tell us. The second time we were here the person who made the reservation prepaid BUT the staff had no record of a reservation ... um what? The staff here are something else. Aside from the clueless manager, it is mostly (all?) high school students that couldn't care less. Second: This is quite spendy for what you get. In addition to the cost of the races and before you can race you have to buy something called a "license" for ~$6 and it's good for a year. The racing itself is pretty fun. But I swear they must turn up the speed on the final race because I was not able to control the car like I was in the practice races. You get a nice little printout of your lap speeds and final placement. I of course got last place because I am a wuss. I did come out of this with a gnarly bruise on my shoulder blade, and my boyfriend has a few scrapes too so this is not without risks. If you're into go kart racing, there are other places in the area I'd go to before coming here again. In fact, the only way I'd ever come here again is if someone else was picking up the tab. read more

Huge "thank you" to general manager of this location Jason Ross! After 3 days going back and forth trying to solve the issue i had with Groupon on the corporate level he was the guy who fix it in no time! Staff is nice and professional and willing to help if something is not perfect. Overall great experience with k1 speed! I always have a lot of fun when go there! If you like racing go there and you will enjoy every second! The only thing i really wish they reinforce is the mechanical conditions of their carts. Some carts is "charged" better that another. Some have better steering. On others front wheels start to wobble on max speed on the straight. Don't get me wrong carts are ok for basic rider. But when you have 4+ races a day and switch carts trying to squeeze max out of it and get best lap you start noticing this things. read more

This place is a joke. Great for kids parties, but if you really want a fun driving experience try SyKart. If you can afford an afternoon of getting ripped off at K1Speed you can afford an afternoon of real go karting at PGP. The track is tiny! I spent 3 hours here (admittedly on a Saturday) to do 2 races! The karts handle like crap with terrible throttle response!!! The track might as well be an ice rink as there isn't any grip to be found so most of the corners end up drifted by the inexperienced driver. Don't waste your time or money! Go to SyKart and get way more bag for your buck! Go to PGP and learn to drive in the rain for the same price. read more

A friend was in town and was hankering for some go-karting so off we went to Seattle's closest venue! Place: Smaller K1 track compared to other sites like San Diego, tucked behind a Factory Direct furniture store in Redmond. Has pool tables, arcade games, and a track that seems to accommodate 7 to 9 drivers per race. Yelp check-in got us $5 off one $19.99 "Arrive and Drive" package which got us a 14-lap race. There is a mandatory $6.00 "annual license" which gets you the helmet and head sock (which is sort of like a Shamwow ski mask that keeps them from having to clean the helmets in between drivers). 14-laps takes about 5 minutes to complete, which might sound like a short amount of time for a $23 investment, but I will admit that it is one heck of an exhilarating, adrenaline pumping 5 minutes if you've never gone before. These go-karts go way faster than you'd expect. You get a printout of your best lap time and some fun statistics of your race afterwards as well as your national and in-race ranking. Fun for those of you who are competitive! Be careful not to bump or crash the carts because they do reserve the right to pull you from your race without a refund if you violate their rules. Overall a fun time, but may be a little bit pricey if you're looking to hang out with friends for a prolonged period of time. They do have deals and happy hour type packages which might help drive the per-race price down a bit, but I don't expect most people would be able to do more than 3 races in a single stretch. Other Notes: -Accepts credit cards -You can pre-register your party online -No alcohol served on premise -Has typical arcade foods/snacks (pretzels, nachos, etc.). -Has a good sized parking lot read more

Great place for a kids birthday. Had such a good time with my son (9) and his friends. When we ended up with a couple of snafus, I believe on our end, they were so accommodating. A great place for birthday parties. And really reasonable for what you get. There are heigh restrictions, so it doesn't work for you get kids. Very cooler for older kids. I was worried about the 20 mins between the races. It goes very fast. We tried to do cake in between and could t even get that done. Just bring some snacks. Would highly recommend. read more
