We came to K1 Speed to celebrate a birthday and do something other than lunch. Figured this could be a fun activity! Upon arrival, we waited in line for a few minutes and by time we got to the front we were told to go to the computers off to the side to make an account to get our K1 Speed "license." Then we had to get back in line again. Wish there was a sign that said to make an account first so we didn't waste time. Once getting our "license" we were given a head wrap to wear underneath our helmets and told that the next race wasn't for another hour. I asked the guy if he could give us a schedule - are races at the top of each other? This would help us determine where we could go eat to kill time. He just said to come back in a hour and he would make it work. To be honest, I had zero confidence. I thought we were going to rush back from eating and then wait another 30mins but he thankfully told us he could have us racing in 5mins. The race was fun - there were 6 of us as a group along with a few strangers in the mix. We did the lowest option which was included 2 races. One race itself is 12 laps which takes approx 10mins. The 2 race option was about $55 per person - little pricey considering how quickly it goes. K1 is an indoor go-kart race facility located inside the Palisades Mall on the 2nd level. From the moment I sat in the kart, the experience went downhill and fast. I encountered an employee named Joe, who was shockingly rude from the beginning. I believe the kart I was given was defective. It kept stopping randomly while I was driving, and my leg was cramping badly because I am too tall for the seating. Nobody from the staff checked my seatbelt or the belts of other drivers, including the person right behind me, which raised serious safety concerns. When I stopped the kart mid race to ask for help, Joe approached me with zero professionalism. I tried asking if I could move the seat back or switch karts, but instead of helping me problem solve, Joe kept insisting I get out, completely dismissive and aggressive, despite me clearly being uncomfortable and seeking options. I understand that safety may have required me to exit the race, but his tone and attitude were unacceptable. Afterward, I approached another staff member who apologized for Joe's behavior, and I appreciated that. I then had to explain the situation multiple times to different staff at the front desk. Each one seemed unaware of the issue. Eventually, I was told by two employees that both my friend and I would receive a refund. Then the assistant manager Levi came over and had me explain everything again... now the sixth time. While talking with him, another staff member (who did not have on a uniform) randomly stepped in and mentioned that Joe is "half deaf," something entirely irrelevant and felt like an attempt to justify rude behavior, which only added to my frustration. In short, I left feeling disrespected, unsafe, and exhausted from how poorly the situation was handled. Communication was terrible, the customer service was worse, and the only person who showed any empathy was not empowered to fix anything. K1 needs to train their staff in both basic safety protocol and customer service. I will not be returning, and I do not recommend it to anyone who expects professionalism, safety, or even a basic level of respect. read more

This speedway is now managed by K1 and is in drastic violation of all known safety standards - please beware. One of our party sustained a severe injury as a result of another reckless participant, and received zero attention, sympathy, or refund from the woman who identified herself as the manager. We are looking into the appropriate state authorities to alert them to the hazardous conditions here. read more

I was very hesitant after seeing the reviews that I have to say it was a great time. The workers at the track were very attentive and when it looks like a couple of the kids were going to bump into each other they slowed it down. I definitely felt like they were watching and understood that kids racing should be fine and not dangerous. The only star I took off is that the arcade is rigged, per the kids. I've been coming to this location for years, even back when it was Autobahn Indoor Speedway, and I've recommended it to so many friends as a fun and exciting place to race. Unfortunately, after my recent experience, I can't say the same anymore. My visit was completely ruined because of how I was spoken to and treated by one of the race controllers, Joe. There was a situation involving my friend and Joe, which led to my friend being asked to leave. When I tried to ask what was going on, Joe just said "Just go" and walked away. I asked again and was completely ignored. We brought our concerns to the assistant manager, Levi, and were told "He can't hear well." I'm sorry, but that doesn't give anyone the right to dismiss a paying customer. If someone truly has a hearing issue, that should be managed with empathy and support. Not used as an excuse for rude behavior. Levi didn't seem to take the situation seriously at all and brushed it off like it wasn't even worth addressing. This was my first time dealing with Joe, and it will definitely be the last. Several staff members witnessed what happened and tried to calm things down, but the experience had already left a bad taste. Because of how everything was handled, I chose not to race that day. I didn't even feel welcome anymore. K1 Speed has lost someone who used to genuinely love coming here. It used to feel like a fun, welcoming place. Now it just feels like customers are treated as an afterthought. I really hope management takes a serious look at how their team handles situations like this and puts proper training and accountability in place. read more

Very over priced and they slowed the karts down way to much. Many other places that are better price and you can go 5x the speed

Attendants did not admonish the crashers/ the aggressive ones who intentionally bumped cars. Sis not enjoy at all. Highly disappointed as it's not inexpensive. read more

So had a day to myself and my son trying to decide what to do. It was suggested we try indoor karting. Before we went to Autobahn I read some reviews since this was a first time for me. Got to say most of the reviews were not good. A lot stated how unprofessional the staff was. We we went anyway. The young lady behind the counter was pleasant an informative. We got checked in paid for our races and were sent on to enjoy. The first stop was a brief orientation then helmet fitting. Contrary to most of the reviews I found the staff professional and very attentive. Overall the experience was good and something I plan to do again. read more

False advertisement, rules say you need to be 48in or taller, we went with my daughter and she clearly measures over that, but the lady made up a number you need to be 50in tall, and now she can't ride. Why on the website and everywhere it says 48in and some lady can make her own rule and state 50in tall?! read more

Alright. Couple things here. Took my kids here for the second time just now. First time, they had fun. A bit expensive for a 5 min ride at almost $30 but whatever it's a mall and I knew what I was signing up for. This time. I waited in line for a half an hour just to get to the register. Here I encountered two major issues for me a a consumer. #1 - I wanted to buy 10 races which comes with a discount... it's $175. Wanted to give each kid of mine, 5 races to use. Problem is that their policy is that you can't do that, it's single rider. I don't understand this policy for related people. I'm the one paying, I buy 10 races, I deserve the 10 race purchase discount. I was asked to buy TWO, 5 race packages which is $25 more. I said no, and asked for one race a piece instead. Keeping track as a business, I went in spending $175, now down to spending $60. Seems weird. Which is where I ran into issue #2. #2 - after waiting 30 min in line (the line was not big, it took them 30 min to clear just the one group at each register), and after being frustrated by the policy above... I was told the next available race was THREE HOURS LATER. So now I left. Maybe you should get rid of the policy that makes people spend less money, have a policy of notifying waiting customers of what the expected wait time is so they can decide if that's even for them. And the cherry on top, my son said he wanted to have his birthday party there, in 2 months. So your lost revenue as a business today represents $175, plus another roughly $700. Took three kids to go racing. The people at the front were not welcoming and kind of off putting. They did not explain anything well including that children and adults race separately. They told me to look at signs and didn't really explain to me. I don't understand that why, at least for children, they can't do a package with just one race. It's costly. Or it would be a great option to buy a three pack and each child can go once. Plus my child's birthday was that week and the race couldn't have been used. What's the point? The person giving instructions was quite helpful and explained everything well. We appreciated him. Nobody answered the phone when I called previously. Even though I was disappointed in the business, our children had fun. I'd prefer to never go back, but once you buy that license (which they force you to do), you're kinda stuck. read more
