We really wanted to give this place a try because of the reviews, so we set up an appointment for an evaluation and paid the fee. Our dog barks and has reactivity issues. Unfortunately, upon arriving at our appointment, the first thing Chris asks is "Is your dog gonna bark the whole time?" I thought, "well, yeah, that's why we came to you for help", but I brushed it off and walked out with our dog to the lobby. That was the first red flag for me. Not three minutes later, he comes out and says they can't take calls with my dog barking, so he escorts us outside. Meanwhile, my girlfriend is still in the evaluation room. Our 8 year old corgi had issues with excessive barking, marking, leash pulling, and walking issues that I was afraid to walk him and when I did, the walks would be anxiety ridden for me and not long enough for him. We sent Yogi to the 2 week board and train and came back to a brand new pup! Thanks to K9 logic Yogi now is a dream to walk. We can't recommend K9 enough and regret not working with them sooner on our 1 yr old keeshond, Huck. We did the 8-week private training with Chris and our relationship with Huck has changed completely. Prior to training here, we couldn't take Huck on walks without him shrieking, pulling and lunging when he saw other dogs, even when we had his favorite treats and him being on Prozac. Most walks ended with high anxiety for both dog and owner and if K9 wasn't a solution, we were going to have to rehome him. Thankfully, Chris immediately realized Huck just needed proper training and that he is highly receptive to and enjoys training. The slip knot was the main tool we used and we focused a lot of our attention on polishing the heel and place commands, which taught Huck to increase his focus on us during walks and pay less attention to other dogs. We took one session to the dog park to test out Huck's training with Chris observing Huck in the wild. It's amazing how two simple routines completely changed our dog. Towards the end of class, we introduced the ecollar to transition to off leash (which is a bonus that we never even fathomed for Huck). I have a 13 year old Westie that started to develop behavioral issues around 8 years old. She started to lunge at dogs during walks, sometimes try to snap at dogs too. It was so frustrating not knowing what to expect from her at times and after years of this behavior, I decided she needed some training. I was hesitant to start training at 13 years old because you hear people say "you can't teach an old dog new tricks." But I went for it anyway and thought it was worth trying than never trying at all. We met with Chris for our first private training session about 2 weeks ago. Chris brought his beautiful dog to the training class and my dog tried to lunge at her initially. By the end of our class, she was walking and training by her side with no issues. Just want to start off by saying we love K9Logic. Brought our Alaskan malamute here when she was 11months and took on the 8week personal training. Due to COVID, we weren't able to properly socialize her or begin training when she was ready. Things that we wanted to work on was separation anxiety, pulling on walks, reactivity, and off leash. Our pup is a ball of anxiety so we had our work set out for us. K9Logic implements balance training with the use of tools like the prong and ecollar that has allowed us to communicate with our dog and allow her to be a dog. With the amazing guidance of our trainer Lynn, our pup has come such a long way in a short amount of time. Our pup now walks besides us and even waits for us to catch up if she's on a free walk. During walks, she's not as anxious anymore with her environment, thinking everything is out to get her. We're tackling separation anxiety where she would break out, injure herself, and scream mercy to now being able to stay in her crate for extended periods of time without freaking out. She's learning to socialize better with other dogs without being feisty and slowly getting over her reactivity, especially with small dogs(she's been attacked a few times). I want to just start out and say, I'm so glad we took our dog and joined a family of dogs/dog owners. My wife and I learned so much about our dog and how to properly communicate with her. Chris was able to explain the style of training in the evaluation and introduced our trainer Diana who taught us invaluable lessons. We have always dreamed of having a dog off-leash safely and wanted our dog to explore and enjoy life as a real dog. When we first heard about the e collar is the only option for teaching the dog, we were both hesitant and wondered if we were doing the right thing by "shocking" our dog for misbehaving. So, I told Chris we would sleep on it and come with a decision for that training. I googled/youtubed all sorts of videos on e- collars and with the proper education on the tool. The e-collar training is optional and Chris didn't force it upon us. We went in with an open mind tested the e collar on ourselves and assured it was 100% safe with proper training. It's a tool that can be used improperly but when used properly is highly effective in communicating with dogs. Whenever Shadow sees the e-collar now her eyes light up and tail wags, because she associates it with adventure time with the freedom to be free. Sorry I just have so many good things to say about our experience so if it's too long here's a TLDR: 1. Chris and Diana made learning and training our dog fun. 2. Wish we did this sooner with our dog. 3. Worth every penny and hope more dogs and owners get training from k9logic! 4. Just do it! We have trained our dog through private lessons, group sessions prior to K9 logic with our dog shadow. She is a super mutt rescue dog(Perro de Presa Canario, staffy pit bull, rottweiler, and mastiff) which is a mixture of all the breeds that are known to be super stubborn and big guardian dogs. After spending hundreds of dollars, she knew only basic commands like sit or down with some accountability. Our dog would struggle to do the commands if there was no motivating treat in front of her. She was missing the discipline that k9logic instilled in her. We started out with the 5-week private lessons and decided halfway thru we needed 8 weeks for shadow because she needed more work. Every week shadow learned something new, but her confidence didn't really show up till our last two weeks of training. Some dogs just need more TLC. Diana(our trainer) made everything easy to understand and teach Shadow. Every session, she made all the necessary proofing to tighten up our training. Not only did she give us clear instructions, she always explained the reasoning behind the training and why our dog was behaving a certain way. She even spent hours outside our allotted private session to answer any questions through text messages. After the 8 weeks, Shadow Happy-Tail Chen now knows how to heel, sit, down, place, climb, structured loose lead walking, and even recall from long distances. Her prey drive has calmed down a lot and is able to focus on us if it does kick in. She is 0-2 with skunks and has lost that battle every time. We have confidence she will be able to recall away from a skunk the next encounter now. We can answer the door even with the doorbell ringing without shadow bolting to the door barking with a simple "place" command. She just calmly lies on her cott while we attend to the solicitor. Shout out to Dianna our most humble down-to-earth trainer/teacher/mentor! I don't think we could have gotten a better trainer! We are looking at trying to prepare for the k9 good citizen exam for Shadow because we think she could make a good therapy dog. Also waiting for spots to open for the daycare to help shadow socialize with other dogs. Highly recommend any dog owner who cares about their dog's quality of life! Working with Chris and his team was nothing short of a great experience and one of best decisions. Adopting Quinn back in May 2020, I knew what I was getting myself into: a lovable dog, that had alot to learn still on obedience and controlling his reactivity with other dogs. I have a 90 lb German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix, and I've always had trouble walking him because he pulls so much. After spending the money you do to become a customer, you would think they would value you coming back. This facility was great!! I have nothing but praise for how they have helped and cared for our dog, even during the pandemic!!! Chris and Kelly have a no nonsense mantra of training. We rescued a lab/hound/doberman mix about a year ago, we were having trouble with her high prey drive, separation anxiety and really bad leash pulling. Every cent of board and train is worth it!!!! She is a different dog now!!! She is much happier, less anxious and has a wagging tail on her walks. She was very afraid of wheels, you name it (bikes and especially skate boards). They took the time and effort to bring these items in and exposed her in order to desensitize her anxiety. She is still a little squirrely about skate boards, but can be distracted or redirected much easier now. We were taught how to use an E-Collar correctly, which I have tried it on myself!! It is a great tool to use when it's hard to get her attention when her hunting drive kicks in. By no means does the training end once its over, but they set you and your dog up for success by giving you great tools and are available as resources towards the continued growth in your pet's behavior. I don't even know where to begin. This training facility was recommended by a friend and we are forever grateful. We have a Shiba Inu puppy who is the sassiest princess with a strong personality and mindset. She thinks she runs the house (which she does but we can't let her know that). We knew we were up for a big challenge and putting her into training at the early age of 4 months was the best thing for her, and for us. We wanted to establish a strong foundation on obedience, socialization, and mental stimulation. We trained with Kelly and received tips from head trainer Chris as well. We researched and did our homework and decided balanced training with slip lead and e-collar would work best for us. Yes, not every dog need this type of training but we knew our pup will definitely benefit from it. Since we started her when she was young, she understood right away the importance of leash pressure and e-collar stim and how to turn it off. Within 2 lessons, she went from criss-crossing, lunging, sniffing and picking up every stick or pine cone during walks to heeling by our side. By 6 months old, we were able to take her hiking in Mammoth off leash with the perfect recall. Chris drilled us to keep hand feeding her to improve engagement and teaching her that all the good stuff comes from us. I am not going to sugar coat it; the training was intense but the important part is keeping it consistent at home. We hand fed and trained with almost every meal. There are so many great things I can elaborate on but this review will be an even longer essay. I think you get my point. They're great and well worth the price. PS. We drove from Irvine to Glendale just to train with these amazing trainers and met many new human and dog friends! We also went to puppy social almost every week for a solid 3 months or so and it was great socialization for our pup since it was supervised by trainers. By far the best trainer I have ever worked with. We saw the results with Roscoe immediately after the first private session and after we finished all our sessions, he is a completely different dog. Where other trainers gave up, or were frustrated with our progress, Chris celebrated each milestone we reached and always explained his methodology. We completed 8 weeks right after we rescued him then another 5 weeks a year later. He is a completely different dog now that listens and responds to cues. One of the best trainer we've ever taken my dog to and we've gone through at least 4-5 different ones. I have a reactive dog and it's been so hard to manage him on walks before training with Chris. We did zoom sessions as we aren't local to them and I honestly didn't think it was going to work. Boy, was I wrong. 2 classes in and it's day & night when we go on walks. She doesn't pull on a leash anymore (she used to pull until her eyes were swollen), she doesn't go running after other animals (she used to lunge after dogs), and at only 6 months old, she is amazing with recall. We went to their Puppy Socials for a few months while she was still a puppy and it helped her learn socializing with other dogs the correct way (not like the dog park full of aggressive dogs) with the guidance of their trainers. K9 Logic Dog Training - Learning down-stays with other pups! - Pet Training Near Me - Glendale, California

Just finished my first private training session at the new K9 facility! Our trainer was Chris and we wanted to work on leash pulling and basic obedience with our dog, Lily. She is a four year old bealge mix and has always had a hard time with leash pulling. She is very motivated by food and the smells around her so regular walks tend to be exhausting when trying to get her to go in the right direction. I was also worried that her not being a puppy anymore would make it harder to train her. The session started off with Chris talking to me about the basics of training your dog and how important consistency is. He was able to communicate his style very clearly and made me feel comfortable in the space. Lily seemed to enjoy his company right away and responded well to his corrections. In under 30 minutes of our session Lily was able to follow his cues and he let me practice with her as well. We were able to comfortably have her walk beside me and worked on a few marking commands as well. Overall, a great experience for my first time. I am eager to practice the skills that I have learned at home and see her progress with this company! The staff was friendly, the facility was clean, and the sessions are personable. We enrolled our highly anxious highly people-reactive super mutt rescue, Bernie, in the 5-Week B&T program and definitely recommend it for anyone who has done their research and made their own list of pros/cons but is still on the fence. Yes, it's a big investment, but it's an investment that works and continues to reward after the program is done. My wife and I tried to train Bernie (rescued at the beginning of COVID) for an entire year on our own (e.g. we read a bunch of dog behavior books, performed the training exercises recommended by dog behaviorists we follow online, gave our dog as much structure as possible, etc.), but it just wasn't enough. We could see Bernie's training starting to plateau, and even worse, his fear of strangers/people slowly growing, as we made our way further into (and out of and back into) the pandemic. Fast forward - Bernie completed the 5-Week B&T at K9 Logic with Chris as his head trainer, and he's a much better boy now. Not a brand new dog, but a much more balanced dog who is less easily spooked by strangers. More importantly, when Bernie IS spooked, he looks to us for guidance rather than immediately going into fight (barking/lunging) mode. The training worked wonders for Bern, but even more than that, worked wonders for my wife and me. We have only had Bern back home for 3 weeks now, but we feel like more confident and knowledgeable handlers, and we finally feel like we've got the groundwork and tools to help Bern be the best version of himself. Before the B&T, here are some things we NEVER thought we could take Bernie to do without him having a full meltdown or pooping his fur pants (really): walking through the Glendale Galleria, walking through Target, walking through Home Depot. All of these milestones have been unlocked for us only 3 weeks out, and we're excited to keep at it and to continue to help our dog be a more confident pup. read more

We had an amazing experience with K9 Logic. Chris took special interest in our family Boston Terrier named Kimchi. Before signing up, Kimchi darted at children, and often was a bit aggressive toward other dogs. Kimchi even ran away one night in Runyon Canyon! After our first session, Kimchi calmed down almost completely. By our last session, Kimchi was sitting on command, returning to his "place", and became an overall great dog. He can now be around children without issue and has no problem at the park where he enjoys playing with all kinds of breeds-big and small. We truly had a wonderful experience and highly recommend K9 logic to anyone who wants to enroll their dog in obedience training of any kind. Additionally, K9 was great with our 1 year old (human) child. We had no problem bringing him to the training sessions as we had no concerns about other dogs at the facility. Another success story for k9 logic !! I paid for a single private class just to see how Chris' methods were before I invested in a whole package. And in just the single private, I learned so much! With my previous dog (a 5pound morkie) I had enrolled in a chain store course that focused only on positive reinforcement. That method worked for my first dog because he was a puppy with no bad habits and I could mold him. With my new dog (30 pound rescue pit mix) I needed reinforcements. She had developed some territorial behavior that caused her to bark at children and show dominant behavior at my morkie/other dogs if I played with them too long. I could no longer use the method of ignoring the bad behavior and rewarding the good behavior because she wasn't learning to actually stop the bad. I am so grateful to Chris because he gave me the tools to correct my dogs "bad" behavior. We met at a local park and Chris brought his dog to act as distraction. I brought up every scenario I could think of where my dog has acted in a way that I felt was unsafe and he was able to personalize our lesson with my concerns. I used to feel so scared that my wonderful rescue could cause potential harm to my other dog or kids. I know she is a good girl and I wanted to take responsibility for her actions, but I felt so out of control. Chris gave me peace of mind by teaching me how to take back control. I am so grateful! This place deserves all five stars that it has! I will say Jacqueline did an excellent job with my dog Tahiti! Our relationship is much improved after the training. I now have a better understanding of how to communicate with my dog and my dog has a better understanding of communicating with me, I'm hoping I can post a video here because actions speak louder than words. read more

I am so happy & thankful we found Chris! We adopted Maximus a few months ago and had taken him to a different trainer prior, to break out some of his pretty bad habits. We decided to put Maximus through more advanced training, and was recommended to Chris. We did 5 weeks of training , and WOW he literally came back a different dog. Chris is so knowledgeable, quick, and you can see how amazing he is at what he does. He's super informative and answered the numerous questions we had.
