I've been bringing my German Shepherd to Canine Connections for over 8 years, and I always trusted them to provide a safe, caring environment. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has completely shaken that trust. When I picked up my dog, I noticed visible bite marks--injuries that clearly occurred while in their care. What's worse, no one called me, there was no incident report, and nothing was mentioned at pickup. I had to take my dog to the vet for treatment out of my own concern. After nearly a decade of loyalty, I expected far better from Steve and the team at Canine Connections. Mistakes can happen, but failing to communicate when an animal is injured is unacceptable. This isn't just a customer service issue--it's about safety, responsibility, and basic decency toward the animals they're trusted to care for. It's heartbreaking to say this after so many years, but I strongly encourage other pet owners to rethink bringing their dog to Canine Connections. If something happens to your pet, you deserve to know about it immediately--not find out after the fact, with no explanation. Mind you my dog came home crying and shaking in pain. Vet gave antibiotics for 10 days plus pain meds washed out all wounds and closely monitor has we needed staples but declined due to the need to put him to sleep.

The kind where your powerful dog finds something disgusting to roll in during the night, and you do your best to wrestle the dog into the tub even though she hates watee. And you soap her up multiple times and rinse it out and dry her off the best you can and she still stinks and wants to sleep in your bed. And you pet her stinky fur for 90 minutes before she will lay down and go to sleep. All 3 times this has happened to us, South Paw has been ready to help us right away when they open. Once the woman we spoke to was stressed by how many appointments they had and she still got us in. They are always friendly and the dogs smell good and are in great shape afterwards. Nails are well trimmed. They are speedy too. And their prices, for washing at least, seem very competetive. Highly recommended.

Four paws gave us a whole tour, it's small but they have a great backyard area where they let the dogs play. The owners take time each day with all their dogs to train and spend individual time with them. They were so nice and kind to my dog when we came in to tour and dog has anxiety and is timid and she seemed to be really happy there. Don't understand the negative reviews. I did some due diligence before picking this place and while I typically use Yelp I made sure I checked out other sites too. They have great reviews on other platforms.

For the 3.5 years that I took Louie to Yuppie Puppy, Cheryl, the owner, would always tell me how hard it was for her to cut his hair. That he was aggressive, he would bite her, etc. Remind you, this is not the character of my dog at all. I often thought about taking Louie to another groomer but didn't want to make it more traumatizing for him if he did have a hard time getting his haircut. At least he was familiar with Cheryl and maybe gradually he would be more accepting of the process. The last time I picked Louie up from Yuppie Puppy he seemed normal but then when we got home I saw bruises on his chest. I called the animal hospital to see if I should bring him in to get checked. I was really worried and concerned about Louie and was so angry with Yuppie Puppy. I knew I had to find a new groomer to take Louie. I was referred to Two Paws Up by my boyfriends sister. They do a really great job cutting his hair even and they follow directions. If you want your dog to have a yorkie face, shorter body and shorter legs they will do it. When I first took Louie there, I explained the situation that had gone on at Yuppie Puppy. The lady was very nice and said that she would work with Louie. When we picked him up she said that Louie was fine and that he didn't like to have his back legs cut but that it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. The first puppy cut they do a 1/2 service to get them used to it, which is a great idea. But it was still the same price. Either way now with my 2nd dog going there, I've always had good experiences. They do a small discount if you pay with cash. Small increase in price (that doesn't work out as well for tipping purposes). The fee for my 15lb dog was as much as the 60 lb dog which is unusual (well more with the price increase but that's normal, I think it was a $10 increase from the year prior)
