Everyone's dog is their "baby" and leaving them with a stranger can be so stressful ... but when a situation comes up that makes it necessary to leave your pet for an overnight, THIS IS THE PLACE! We had to leave our little Charlie Brown for NINE NIGHTS for our wedding and honeymoon, and we couldn't be happier with the experience! First, this place is immaculate ... no doggy smells when you walk in the door and chances are, a couple little fur-babies will greet you when you walk in. Their play areas are huge, and there's a lot of running, playing, and personal interaction going on. Kim and Ed truly love taking care of your best friends, and be assured they will be treated very well. My favorite benefit of leaving Charlie here was the daily pictures and videos they post daily ... we could check in to see just how much fun Charlie was having with all his new buddies. When we picked him up, he was happy, tired, and looked great. Go check out Canine Connections, talk to Kim and Ed, and I think you will be confident after just a few minutes that this is the place for your dog's next vacation.

Aly, Beth and the staff at OBKC always follow through with any medication needs and provide us with updates on how Cinnamon is doing during her stay. My pawrents were nervous and their minds were put to ease when they heard how well adjusted I was. The staff at OBKC gave me cuddles when I needed reassurance and played with me one on one so I felt loved. They made sure my meals were just right, which is very important. They treated me like I was not just a dog staying over. I was family. The staff made up for everything and more. Extra attention. Extra kindness. Extra love. I felt safe. I felt seen. I even felt fancy, like I was at my own little country club retreat. They also gave me a bath before pick up as per dad's request. I was clean and fluffy and so happy. By the time my pawrents came to pick me up, I was excited to see them, but I also felt like I was leaving friends behind. That says everything. So from one very well cared for pup, thank you for loving me while my people were away. You made it so much easier for my humans too!

The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.

The general manager also said he would have her call me within the hour at 11am today. It is approaching 2pm. After 10 days of boarding two small dogs, one of my dogs has a wound infection on her side. I noticed it today after some of the scabbing started to bleed. I reached out AGAIN and spoke with the general manager. He's basically not taking any ownership of the issue and has excuses/reasons for all concerns I disclose. There was no sympathy or apology for what happened to my dog until I pointed it out to him. After I mentioned the lack of concern, there was an abundance of apologies and all kinds of concern. His priority was being on the defense and saying that it couldn't have happened during their time at Camp Bow Wow. This assumption was based on approximately 2 hours of reviewing camera footage and asking a handful of camp counselors who were currently working. Still waiting on the owner to call me. 7/25/19 11:00 am Update: The owner Linda finally returned my call this morning. Needless to say, it did not go well. Not once did she ask about how my dog was doing...even after I called her out on it. The comment she posted on Yelp was the first time she offered an apology. I had to ask for everything I prepaid, but she has not yet paid it like she noted. She said she will call me when the check is available to be picked up on her time schedule and at a different location. My Vet has not sent me her medical analysis yet. I told Linda that I wanted a chance to review it first when she asked me for permission to contact the vet. I'm not sure why she wants it anyway since she explained that is is extremely rare that they pay a vet bill. And for the record, I never asked them to pay my vet bill . For some reason Linda and the GM kept saying they won't. Still waiting on a call from Linda about picking up my check. (My money for services not yet used.)

While exploring her financial options to get his treatment, she overheard the vet techs saying "the dog and the owner are both a disaster." Obviously she was there to seek treatment for the dog (who turns out had fleas.) In this economy not everyone can afford expensive or immediate care- our dog's issues are not life threatening- so to call anyone looking for help a "disaster" is demeaning, degrading and downright wrong. She shared what she heard with the vet when she came back in, only to be told that the vet would address it. She also overheard a conversation with the techs stating that another person brought in a old cat and that the owner should "just give it up already." Needless to say, that will be our final visit.
