I got the dish to goed so can't really say much about the service or the ambience, but for the 15 minutes I spent at the restaurant, it wasn't bad. So about the food, Delicious- meat was so soft! Eating the meat out of the bone made felt like gorilla glue- uk how easily those things come off?! That's how it felt eating that meat! Anyways, 100% recommend

Don't order from here. One of the worst Korean takeout foods I've ever tried in my life This was 25 dollars before tax, fees etc . Total rip off, not worth your time. The noodles tasted like spaghetti and the chicken was awful.

Food very delicious and service was great, food was fast and very friendly staff

Don't tell me this is medium spicy PBS.

With a heavy heart, I have to give my latest and last experience at this Ka Chi one star. I was super excited to come here after being away from Toronto for several years. I brought my parents and husband here to brag about the amazing PBS I remembered from years ago. Server #1 told us to write down our choices. So we jotted down one medium spicy PBS combo (with coke as the beverage) and one spicy PBS combo (with beer). After submitting our order and waiting a long time, we asked server #1 (who was doing nothing) whether we can get our drinks. She looked at us blankly and said, "you got drinks?" Um, you gave us specific instructions to write down our order but yet don't even bother reading it? Then when our soups came out, the medium spicy order looked completely not spicy, as there was no red color. So I asked server #1 whether the order was correct. She goes and checks with the kitchen then comes back with some chili powder and said there was a miscommunication with the kitchen and can I just add the chili spice into my soup. I did, and took two sips but it tasted nothing like a medium spicy PBS. We then told server #2 that my soup did not taste properly despite the added chili. Her reply was, "well then you shouldn't have eaten from it". I took only two sips and that's because you alluded that adding chili would correct the problem, which it didn't. To her credit, she did replace my soup after that remark but we were taken back by her attitude. During the entire evening, they never bothered to ask whether we needed more bonchons or water. We were so annoyed by the attitude and lack of service that we left no tip (and we are usually generous tippers). On our way out, they asked why we didn't leave a tip. I'm glad they asked so we were able to tell them exactly why. Of course, instead of reflecting on their behavior towards customers, they tried to just shift their responsibility away from themselves. The PBS was not as good as I remember. They used to use soy bean sprouts but have now switched to mung bean sprouts, which doesn't taste as good. I am sad that my breakup with Ka Chi had to end on such a sour note. Maybe this is a good thing, a closure on pining for that bowl of perfect PBS that existed in my memory but sadly is just that.

It was my 2nd time dining here overall and 1st time during the COVID pandemic. We dined in the afternoon when there was not a lot of people and were fortunate enough to get seating for 2 in the only patio spot the restaurant has available. The patio was enclosed and protruding outwards toward the street. It was a very intimate and lovely spot. Food presentation was good. I also appreciate how our male waiter was very helpful in helping us choose what to order and explaining what the food menu items were. The only couple of negative points to note was that towards the end of our dining time, we had to wait out a few moments too long to call for refills for the sides. It was the same thing when asking for the bill. Someone from the restaurant should always be attentive and ready to receive any call outs.

Spicy chicken. Sorry ate most of it before taking a picture.

Walked in off street after seeing outdoor menu. We were seated right away and given menus which were easy to read and pictures of many of the dishes. I ordered a hall platter of spicy chicken. Delivered on the spicy and chicken was tender. Recommend this plate 100%. Also ordered fried veggie rolls which were tasty and nice and crunchy. Also a definite recommend. Food was served piping hot which was great. Definitely recommend this place.

Stopped by after the Raptors parade for dinner. Inside it's very spacious and there are plenty of seats for usually 4-6. Ordered the gamjatang with mild spicy and was surprised at how mild it was. Usually, when I order mild spice it's still plenty spicy for me but this one was comfortable which is good. The soup tasted a little bit watered down for my liking and it just wasn't a strong taste. There were large portions of pork there but again a bit bland. Side dishes were pretty decent and they gave good portions there which is nice. Service was pretty attentive and quick. Standard prices across the board but I do think that there are some other options for Korean food around the Chinatown area that might be better. Overall, it's not bad if the place is convenient for you.

Love Ka-chi as a chain restaurant. This is the second or third location I've been to and still did not disappoint. Came here for a quick lunch, meals were prepared quickly but tasted delicious! And also, didn't break the bank! There's a parking lot right beside the restuarant, so that's really convenient! The waiters are super quick and friendly too. Overall, love the Korean food here (but please, don't expect gourmet)

    Even the appetizer was soso

we were with a bunch of buddies having beers and some food the other night. There were no service at all. Every server was hiding in the kitchen and we waited so long for our food and beer. The food was soso and the bill was way too expensive. They really expect you to give them tips for their lack of service. This will be our last time to come here. there are better korean places out there.

Arrived around lunchtime on a Monday and there was still an abundance of seats! I got the kimchi fried rice with beef which was the chef's special. The food came out pretty quickly (around 7-10 minutes) and I'm a fan of the food. Although I've had better kimchi fried rice, the portion and amount of meat was worth the price. They also served us tea with loose leaf (which I haven't had at other korean restaurants before yet) so that's a plus if you're a tea fan! The prices of korean food here are also pretty cheap compared to other ones.

Empty during dinner.... Not a good sign.

This place was empty during prime dinner time. Now I know why. Service was non-existent and when we told them this was the wrong dish, they were rude. Food wasn't even good. Don't go here.

Besides the popular choice of Korean BBQ, I haven't truly explored all that is Korean cuisine. It wasn't until I stepped foot into Ka Chi Korean Restaurant that I explored the many other options that Korean cuisine has to offer! Located at 8 St Andrew Street, this secluded spot is truly a hidden gem. When we were seated, immediately some hot tea was served to the table in a decently sized tea kettle. We were also served traditional Korean soda pop called Milkis, which we got in Strawberry flavour along with Milk and Yogurt flavour. I really enjoyed these because it tasted similarly to Cream Soda pop and Sprite, all of which are my popular choices for pop! Shortly after, we were served our two soups for the night. Boiling hot in temperature and appearing visually stunning, our Pork Bone Soup and Spicy Beef and Vegetable Soup were delicacies during our time at Ka Chi. The Pork Bone Soup had the perfect taste, and I am always a fan of clear soups in general. I also really appreciated the freshness of the vegetables that were in the soup, along with the potatoes which added a nice touch to the textures of the dish. However, I was not a fan of how large the Pork Bone was, because it took up a large portion of the bowl, which may have ruined my experience later on while eating because I was so focused on maneuvering around the bone to eat (there was also a lot of meat to go through as well on this bone!). Overall though, this soup was definitely a treat! On the other hand, my partner's bowl of Spicy Beef and Vegetable Soup held no complaints. Having this soup was a plus for him, especially because he was feeling rather sick from the cold we were having in Toronto! Ka Chi's Spicy Beef and Vegetable Soup really hit the spot on this cold night in Toronto. On the table as well, we had also gotten Stir Fried Noodles with Beef and Vegetables along with a famous dish of Bulgogi. I must say my favourite selection at Ka Chi was the Stir Fried Noodles - something about it truly made my night! The udon noodles stir fried were very tasty and had good proportions of vegetables and meats in my opinion. It also helped that it was served on a hot plate, because it kept the temperature of the noodles high - an important element for stir fry! In addition, the Bulgogi was done very well, holding delightful flavours and having the perfect texture for chewing. However, the one thing that I would say was a fault for this dish was the rice-to-bulgogi ratio; there was just far too much rice on the plate considering the amount of beef that was given to us. All in all, Ka Chi was truly a treat. Not only was service friendly and the food arrived at a very speedy pace, but it was overall delicious! I would definitely recommend my fellow Foodie Utopians to try out Ka Chi at St. Andrew Street if you're looking for a traditional variety of Korean food as oppose to your grilled Korean BBQ style dinner. The Korean pancake with seafood and vegetables was huge and much crispier than the one I've tried before. My beef tartare bibimbap was perfect. Hence we entered Jin Dai Lae. Good decision (yes, I am patting my back). Entree pricing was $3 to $4 lower than Markham/Richmond Hill. Portion was so big that you would be full, and might have to doggy bag. Most importantly, food tasted good. Short ribs stew had many pieces of beef. Squids hot plate was saucy. It wasn't too spicy, so it was good for me (menu didn't have a chilli sign either). For people who like it hot, you can ask for some chilli sauce.
