This neighborhood really needed an authentic Korean restaurant, and I'm glad this one opened up filling up the old Wendy's space. Prices are a little higher than Koreatown, but the flavors are on point and worth it. We shared the cold noodles and seafood stew and both were delicious, fresh, and satisfying. There were only 3 side dishes but they refilled them when asked. We went on a weeknight and it stayed quiet until about 7pm, which made for a comfortable and relaxed meal without being rushed out. I'll be back with more friends to try the seafood pancake and bulgogi dishes!

Delicious Gamjatang in downtown Toronto. The restaurant is clean, not too busy when I went on a Monday night. The wait staff was only one person that night, so it took a little while to get my check so I could leave, but that's okay. The waiter was nice. No frills restaurant, it was a simple and delicious meal for a reasonable price. My one complaint: The gamjatang had like two chunks of potato. The dish needs more potatoes and then it would be perfect.

We ordered the pork bone soup and bibimbap and both were absolutely delicious. The soup came with many pork bones and the portion was worth the price. As well, the bibimbap tasted great with the sauce and it was a very healthy dish. The service was good in that the waiter brought our food in a timely manner. The atmosphere was casual and it is a great place for a date or to catch up with friends.

Pretty standard stuff. Got the bulgogi dolsot bibimbap: taste was nothing standout but not bad, portion size was normal, price was a bit high. My friend got the gomtang and said it could have been tastier but wasn't bad. Overall, an average experience.

I decided to have lunch here randomly one day and it was such a good decision! I just got the gamjatang and I have to say it was awesome! The serving size and the amount of meat I got was a lot, so I was pleased with that. The service was also quick, and the restaurant's ambiance was nice. I will come back here again to get more gamjatang and get the pajeon, which I did not get to try last time!

I did walk-in on a Friday evening and had about a 15-20 minute wait! The inside of the restaurant is spacious, but feels a bit empty with minimal decor. There's plenty of seating but the tables are all pretty close to each other. Service is pretty quick here. Their menu is pretty simple, in comparison to many other Korean restaurants. They specialize in gamjatang, but also have a variety of other soups. Other than that, they have some meat dishes as well as seafood pancake. My friend and I ordered the gamjatang, seafood pancake, and bibimbap to share. All of their banchan, especially their kimchi and fish cakes were delicious. The portion for each of their entrees was huge and delicious. Overall, good spot!

4.75/5 This place newly opened and I really do think their namesake dish is a 5/5. I haven't had a lot of gamjatangs, but this one was flavoured well and the pork basically fell off the bone, it was so soft!! The only thing that's bringing my rating down a 0.25 is that it's ridiculously hot in there. A minute into sitting down, we had to take off all our layers because we were all really hot. Because the gamjatang is also a hot/soupy dish, we were all sweating while we were eating haha, but the food 100% made up for it!! Definitely will come back soon!!!

First time going to this place. And it was so good.. their food is really good and price wise is affordable. Staff are very friendly. Definitely will go back. Recommended this place to family and friends.

Seoul Gamjatang in Toronto is a fantastic spot for authentic Korean comfort food, especially known for its hearty, flavorful gamjatang (pork bone soup). The broth is rich and well-seasoned, offering a depth of flavor that's both warming and satisfying. The Beef soup with daikon, clear noodle, was delicious, similar to Galbitang (I think). The soft tofu soup with seafood is ok. Just squid & tiny shrimp... The bibimbap was ok... with beef, egg, veggies, kimchi on a hot stone... makes the rice crispy on the bottom. The portions are fair, and the side dishes banchan add a lovely variety to the meal. The ambiance is casual and welcoming, making it a solid spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The staff is friendly and efficient, providing solid service. Seoul Gamjatang is a solid spot for anyone craving traditional Korean flavors in Toronto.

The service was good, although it was busy when I went. It was also strange that they wouldn't seat parties of 2 at the tables of 4 but would rather leave it empty. Tried the pork bone soup ($20) and the Seafood Pancake ($24). Pork bone soup was good, not too spicy, good seasoning but not overly so and the pork was fresh and not too fatty. The seafood pancake was not as crispy as I would have liked although it was quite large. The batter was a bit doughy - overall okay but probably can pass on this.

Tried this newly opened restaurant north of yonge and college. It took over the location of a former Wendy's if I recall. We walked in for lunch and was seated promptly. The menu doesn't have a lot of dishes but it does have what they specialized in. We got the gamjatang, the bibimbap and the pajeon (seafood). It came with the 4 standard side dishes. Overall, I do agree with another reviewer that they could have included slightly more meat in the bibimbap as well as work on the flavour of it. The gamjatang was good but should be cooked a bit longer to make the "meat fall off the bone". The pajeon was great, no complaints. The service was really friendly and there was no issues in terms of that. They were receptive to feedback. Will return to see if the food improves.

My first time trying Seoul Gamjatang on a Saturday afternoon. We were quickly seated and everything looked very clean and new. The staff were friendly and quick to assist us when we needed help. What I got: - Bulgogi Solsot Bibimbap - Banchan (Radish Kimchi, Cabbage Kimchi, Fishcakes) Final Thoughts: I wish there was more bulgogi in my bibimbap, but I do like that it came with a side of soup. The mushrooms were also a standout and I found them very tasty! The banchan were pretty standard, but I do wish they had more variety. Not bad, but I'll have to return to try their Gamjatang which is what they're known for.

I was surprised that there was no line on a weekday during lunch time ~12:00, especially since other reviewers made mention of long wait times. I guess I was lucky. Anyway, since there was no line, I got my meal quickly. The soups are waiting in pots at the front, so the service is fast as they just need to scoop up your soup of choice. I got a small soup meal, so I was able to choose 2 sides from a collection of breads and fruits/veggies. I decided to go for the Moroccan Madness Vegetable Medley with sides of a multigrain ciabatta bun and apple. The soup was good, definitely fresh, flavourful, and better than your average canned soup, but I wasn't blown away. Plus, the meal was kind of pricey for what I got. For these reasons I only rated them as 3 stars. However, I'm really only basing my review on one out of many different soup options. Maybe some of the other flavours are better. I would go back to try a different soup.

I regret not grabbing any pictures of this but I was taking my order to go. After scanning the menu pretty quickly, I saw I could grab a soup from here. I placed an order for a soup and decided to get some falafel as well. You have a choice of a few dipping sauces and I went with the harissa one. They told me it'd be a couple of minutes before it'd be ready. I stood by the windows to see what was happening on Yonge St but it was a pretty quiet night. They gave me a call out and I was off with my soup and falafel in no time. After getting back to my place, I popped the lids for my orders. The soup smelled great and the falafel looked alright. I started with the soup. It was nice and packed with a lot of flavour. It was also pretty light and what I was looking for. I took a bite of the falafel. I'm unsure how to feel about it as it felt really when chewing through it. I dipped it into the sauce and it still felt a little dry. I finished this during the hockey game and I'm glad it was close. Would grab the soup again and try other things on the menu but would skip the falafel as it wasn't my favourite thing even though the dipping sauce was nice.
