Tried Fowler kabab city for the 3rd time and again was disappointed. Ordered the chicken kabob plate and the chicken w/veggies were overly charred; it made the rice taste burnt and also the pocket bread was extremely dry. I guess I'll be trying the new place in kingsburg. read more

My family and I used to love this place but as of lately we have had bad experiences. The staff has greatly disappointed us. We have been in here to dine in a couple times for dinner and every time the server is talking very loud about personal business while cussing throughout the conversation with the men in the kitchen while our two young boys listen. So we started ordering to take out and it's even worse, last couple times our salads or apps have been forgotten. I am a regular at the Fowler kabab location. I've been coming here for a very long time and have never experienced multiple poorly cooked meals at that this location. I picked up my order one morning to get home and open the box and it was completely burnt! This isn't the first time I usually have this for weekly lunches and it has been horribly cooked last time it was super under cooked! COMPLETELY RAW!! I wish I had took a picture. When I called this location to explain the situation the girls were completely nice. I told them I would gladly drive 20 minutes to show them this plate. Solid little Mediterranean style restaurant in tiny downtown Fowler. I came in at the end of their lunch rush so they were still a little busy....but fast and efficient nonetheless. I ordered the Chicken Kabob Dinner and subbed out the rice for the spicy hummus. The Fettoush Salad came out first and it was tasty. Nicely balanced flavored with jus the right amount of oil and vinegar mixed in. Then the Chicken Kabob itself was served with the spicy hummus. Awesome place in small downtown Fowler, worth the small detour off the 99. Had a super awesome lunch here last Thursday to celebrate a coworker' s birthday. Friendly and fast service even while the whole restaurant was jam packed. Our server was very attentive. And the food was Awesome! Every one loved what they ordered. Everything was amazing and full of flavor, served piping hot. The hummus was a great consistency and flavor, served with warm pita quarters. My favorite was the lentil soup, which had a perfect texture with a slight hint of curry. The spicy chicken soup had a tomato or bell pepper and basil flavor, which was followed by a swift kick to the taste buds. The hummus is a must! It is one of the best hummas' that we have ever had! It's also quite large and could easily be shared between 4-6 people. The flatbread that comes with it is warm and delicious. If you run out of flat bread you can ask for more. We ordered the lunch portion of chicken kabab. It was a lot of food and really good. Just as a tip: it has a mayos type sauce on it so if you don't like mayo, you might want to ask for it on the side. At first I thought it was a little strange but it ended up being really good. I have had a lot of Mediterranean food in the valley and I must say I wish this gem was in Fresno. I have eaten in this restaurant and also used them as the caterer for a family member's wedding. And let me tell you, this was a Middle Eastern wedding and our guests were not disappointed! The owners are incredibly friendly and care about their customers. The food is well portioned and very consistent. Everyone knows that hummus is the bread and butter of a Mediterranean joint and I aways feel that if their hummus is spot on, generally the rest of the food will be pretty decent. They use a lot of tahini here unlike other places I've been too and they garnish it with crushed garlic, olive oil, and chickpeas. So good. They also gave us wheat and white pita. Score. But my absolute favorite is their yalanchi (grape leaves). It's an acquired taste but I grew up on them and love them here! Their falafel is the closest I've had to my dad's recipe and the lamb did not disappoint either. I recommend this place for dinner or your next event. NOTE: Word on the street is one of the owners is opening another Mediterranean restaurant in Hanford called Zaytoon (meaning "olive" in Arabic) so if you live in the land of rotten egg water, be on the lookout! read more
