The chicken shish kebob is what I usually get and it's great. But I did try the chicken lule kebob once and definitely was not satisfied since it tasted weird like grainy and fake. Not a bad spot for lunch if you work in the area. Big portions and reasonable prices. I had the chicken breast salad plate which came with very nicely cooked chicken kebab and yummy hummus. I'm snooty when it comes to food, so I wouldn't go there for anything other than work lunch (because the area is desperately underdeveloped as far as fine dining options go), and I most certainly wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. My main concern aside from the long wait for my food was the quality and cut of the meat -- it seemed like they just haphazardly hacked up a chicken breast without paying attention to the lines/cartilage, resulting in some stringy chicken. I had the chicken lula plate which was juicy and flavorful. It came with a heaping portion of rice to go. I arrived right at noon and there was no line for another 15 minutes until the lunch rush came. They have their own small parking lot off of San Fernando Road. I tried their house salad dressing which had a slight sour taste. Their rice could have used more flavor or saffron flavoring since they provided so much. I ordered it to go and it took about 10 minutes to prepare so calling in never hurts. The lula was one of the better ones that I've had compared to a few others in Glendale and Burbank. Sooo.. I've passed this place literally 100 times since it just recently opened (used to be California Dreamin' Restaurant).. Today I was like, I'm TOTALLY in the mood for kabob (being Armenian from the Middle East and all..). I remembered this place and, kinda strapped for cash, told myself that I'll get the $4.99 lunch special. Much to my surprise, I got there and realized that there aren't just 2 lunch specials that are low priced, there are a TON of, dare I say it, cheap lunch/dinner deals. HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED THIS MEMO? I'm a sucker for luleh kabob (or the way they spell it, lula kabab), which is basically ground beef or chicken, cooked over an open flame in a longish fashion that sorta reminds me of a bumpy sausage. Hehe. Anywho, I LOVE that stuff more than I love the chunks of chicken or beef, so I ordered the beef, and my dining partner ordered the chicken luleh so we could trade. The chicken plate was just $5.99 and the beef was $6.50. They have items as low as $5.50, and many average right around 6 or 7 dollars. They also have Rainbow Trout for 9.99. Anywho, I know that Cafe Bravo is nearby and more popular, and they DO have more side item choices BUT I found the quality at Kabab Way to be better, the prices even lower on some items, and it WAS tastier. The kabob was larger and jucier, the portions were larger, and most of all the hummus was GREAT. I DESPISE the hummus at Cafe Bravo. I've been eating hummus all my life, and I know that Kabab Way's is way better. Another PLUS is that their ranch seems to be home made and it was GREAATT. I dipped everything in it! Lol. Also, love the fact that you can get small sides for just $1 each! The tastttyy hummus, yogurt, and some other things. Wow, that's just so freakin' budget friendly. It's a great size for 1 or 2 people as an appetizer. And they give you a piece of pita also. The meal itself includes 2 rather good sized (not teeny, like Cafe Bravo) pieces of luleh kabob, a large-ish side salad, a good amount of rice, a pita, and a tasty broiled tomato. Too bad they didn't serve sumac (don't know if they had any or not, I didn't ask, too busy eating). Their little side patio is cute, too. Service was fast, also, had my food in around 5 minutes. I appreciate that they're open 5 days a week, I believe until 9 everyday except 'til 7 on Sundays (don't quote me on this, though). Another thing that I would like is maybe a couple different choices of sides. Honestly, I hate tabbouleh. I would like it if they allow you to choose different sides without charging you. That's a pretty common practice in many restaurants, and I KNOW that the price difference isn't that huge that you can't give me salad instead of tabbouleh or yogurt instead of hummus. I didn't want any substitutions today, but maybe I will one day, and I noticed a couple notes about substitutions on the menu.. I mean.. I'll be a little fair, you be a little fair, Kabab Way. I don't want to rob you, but let me have a substitution hassle free once in a while, yes? Again, I haven't actually asked for one (maybe I'm a little scared to at this point lol). BUT, I really liked basically everything else about Kabab Way. I didn't really have heartburn, either. The luleh kabobs were great, the portions were generous, the price was RIGHT, the atmosphere was cute, the service was friendly, location and parking were convenient and ample.. what more could I ask for? I'm SO gonna go back soon.. I hear there's another one on Glendale Ave., also, but haven't tried that one. :o) read more

I go here often because you can get a kabob and grape leaves for $8. It's a fast food atmosphere but the food isn't bad. It's pretty good actually. I think the cucumber yogurt is good and so far my meat always tastes yummy. They have bigger combos if you want more sides. The only thing is they take a little long to bring your order out. The staff is very efficient and friendly and the restaurant itself is very very clean and presentable. I just ordered 2 number 11 s for pick up I picked it up came back to my work place opened the food they put literally 5 spoons of rice no butter the meat is disgusting and uncooked and I paid 30 dollars for this crap they serve to people don't ever go there... in glendale there are many more kabob places that are amazing and have nice people working there. the worker Russian tall rude lady who barely speaks English was arguing with me over the phone saying I have to ask for butter lol I'm Armenian from glendale never once have I ever had to ask for butter ordering kabob from anywhere. they also over charged me each combo is 11 something my total came out to 30.29 I don't know how lol oh maybe it was the 3 79 cent tomatoes that they gave us lol disgusting I don't know how they're still open. read more

I go to Cafe Bravo all the time. I've heard about this place but never been. I decided to try it out today. I ordered a beef shish and rice plate. I expected to wait about 10-15 minutes because they cook it as you order. I ended up sitting there for about 30 minutes. Other people who came in after me were getting their orders first. There were periods of it not being busy either, so it's not like they were swamped! After I finally got my food, they never apologized for the wait. As for the food, the beef was very good. However, I'd say that I still much prefer Cafe Bravo and will probably always go there. read more
