    Mixed Kabab

I do not recommend this place and it's unfortunate because I was so excited to try it out. First off the restaurant has Mediterranean in the name and I had select vision and didn't see the "pak Mediterranean" meaning Pakistan food. I am very spoiled with Pakistanian food because that's where my neighbors are from and used to eat at their house often and this place was lacking flavor....lots of it. I ordered the chicken tikka Marsala I understand that it does have a tomato base to it but it was overwhelming, I didn't taste anything else and it lacked chicken, it was more of a soup. The mixed kabab was disappointing. I thought it was going to come out on the stick they also make you CHOOSE between naan or basmati rice...I think both should be given but it's not. The same thing with that chicken tikka marsala dish you had to choose between naan or rice. I ordered the garlic naan because I wanted rice and naan with my meal and the naan was terrible, it didn't even have a garlic flavor and it has a cracker consistency. It wasn't dough-y and fluffy...I was soooo disappointed. As for the service the waitress was polite but she would go missing for a longggggg time. She didn't even fill up our water. It was hard to track her down to pay our bill. And speaking of our bill it was $60 for lunch. WAY TOO OVERPRICED for what we got. I will not be coming back very disappointed!

Positives: clean restaurant with an appealing interior. Food is fresh and tasty. Staff is friendly and attentive. Negatives: we went today for lunch and I wanted to order off of their extensive menu, my husband was at the buffet getting his plate, while he was doing that I was told by our server that I could not order from the menu because the cooks were busy making food for the buffet. I have Celiac and so I knew what I wanted from the menu. So I had to go ahead and just do the buffet also since my husband had already gotten his food. The buffet was $22.50 in the afternoon (the price is not posted in the menu or anywhere we could see) and we both felt that there was not enough offerings of various food to warrant that lunch buffet cost. The food was fresh because they would bring it out when the pan was empty. So when I went to get mine, several main items were gone that my husband had got on his plate. I had to go back and look for them a bit later. While each item we tried (I had little to choose from because of diet) was fresh and good, we both felt they should offer more selections. My main issue is that they should have a sign saying that they don't serve from the menu during the buffet times. We would have left instead of paying over $50 for lunch.

Buffet 5-9 Fridays and also for lunch on other days of the week but check the website to be sure. Lots of unique food for a Midwesterner and they bring fresh bread to your table.

Clean and great service. Good selection of food. Love everything I tired on buffet. However if you like different type of Indian food than it is not for you. Overall I will go back there again

Naan, 2 Fried Vegetable Samosas, Makhni Chicken Tikka, Paneer Tikka Masala

My daughter is vegetarian so we frequent a lot of Indian fare. Kebabs has now been established as the fav in KC! The Naan, masala and samosas were top notch! Can't wait to try the buffet!

Kababs was absolutely excellent. Being indian and trying to find a restaurant with authentic tasting Indian food in KC has been somewhat of a challenge at times and I was so happy to find this place recently. The food is absolutely delicious. Truly nothing that I haven't enjoyed but I especially love the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Biryani. For lunch recently, I tried the Paratha Chicken Roll and it was delicious and a great price! This past week we checked out the buffet they offer and it's the best Indian buffet in the KC area hands down! The service was great, very attentive and kind. And the environment is well styled and clean. 10/10! Thanks Kababs KC! Just found my new favorite place for indian food.

Food was GOOD! We got the buffet which comes with Chai and Naan, best naan I've ever had. Everything is seasoned really well.

Ask the Community - KABABS Pak Mediterranean Cuisine

Are there many non-spicy options on the buffet?

There is a good mix of mild and medium spicy. Nothing is blazingly spicy. There are usually two Biryanis (chicken and vegetable) and butter chicken that are not spicy. Heads up that this is more Pakistani than Indian. Absolutely delicious. Great… Read more

The salad, pita and hummus, came with the plate and everything was delicious. I tried the Kefta kabob plate with mixed meats. The meats were seasoned and cooked well and the tzatziki and spicy sauce were great compliments to the dish which was served over tasty rice. Our server checked on us frequently, filling our water each time. I also liked that it wasn't allowed environment, just some low conversation and some pleasant background music.

Basha Bash: I really wanted to love this spot. Based on the…read morestellar reviews, I was excited for a hidden Greek gem in the heart of OP, but unfortunately, our experience was far from an "Opa!" moment. The Service I arrived first and the place was nearly empty, yet the energy felt frantic. The server/ hostess was very rushed and business-like but seemed overwhelmed, running around like a chicken with her head cut off. After declining a black tea multiple times (once they realized they were out of chai), We had to practically stop her in mid-step for every follow-up once the rest of my party arrived. She never stopped on her own to ask us if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our meal. The Food The meal was a series of "weird" choices: The Hummus Situation: Our entrees were supposed to come with hummus, Rice and a side salad. Instead of serving The hummus with the entree, it was plopped onto the side salad plate before the entree arrived. I've eaten a lot of Mediterranean food, and I've never seen it served that way. The Garlic Sauce: This was a huge letdown. It looked and tasted like straight mayonnaise with a hint of garlic powder--not the authentic, pungent toum or A fresh bright white garlic sauce you'd expect. The tzatziki sauce might have been the best thing on the plate as it tasted fresh and authentic. The Meat: This was a Jekyll and Hyde as some of the meat was tender but some was overcooked and it was like that for everybody's meal whether they got beef, lamb or chicken. The Rice: Every entree was served over saffron rice that was dry, almost like it had been sitting out sunbathing for the day. The Falafel: Good crunch, but the inside was on the dry side. The Vibe As someone with a background in the industry, one thing really stood out: while our server was struggling to keep up with the only two tables in the restaurant, a cook with an apron was sitting in the lobby looking bored and disinterested. It's never a good look for staff to be lounging in front of customers regardless of how busy the restaurant is. Final Verdict Maybe it was just an off night, but for the price point, it doesn't compete. When you compare the quality and value to places like Meddys, Darna, or Mr. Gyros, this was extremely subpar. Sadly, I won't be rushing back.
