    Bismillah Chicken Dum Biryani

*Amazing homemade food alert* I do not understand why Chettinad's is rated so low here. I had lunch here on Friday afternoon and had a great experience. The food was amazing just like how homemade meals are made with high-quality ingredients. When I went in the afternoon, the restaurant was clean and wasn't crowded but I did notice that the staff was limited so it took time for us to receive our order. However, the front desk staff was very polite and courteous. They answered my questions patiently when I asked for suggestions and changes to my meal order. I decided to order Medu Vada, Pallipalayam Chicken, Bismillah Chicken Dum Biryani and filter coffee. The dish I enjoyed the most was the Medu Vada which was perfectly fried and paired with delicious chutney and spicy sambar. I think it's the best Medu Vada I have ever had, even compared to the ones in India. The chicken dishes were tasty and well prepared too. The filter coffee was the highlight -- it was refreshing and brewed just right. I love that I could adjust the sugar and strength of the coffee, unlike premade coffees which you get at other Indian restaurants that often taste flat. Overall my experience was fantastic and I highly recommend this place to everyone. Note: I have also heard that they serve a delicious breakfast buffet and special thalis on weekends, and I am definitely planning to go back to try them!!!

Great food, get the combo that has an extensive offering. Served on a banana leaf. Service was excellent. FYI - The microscopic layer on the banana leaf melts when hot food is placed on it and passes into our body through the food. This process not only increases the taste of the food but also the polyphenols of the leaves are also absorbed into the body.

I enjoy Indian cuisine but am not an expert in the regional differences. This quaint little place advertises Southern Indian food. I am beginning to see the difference. While some items looked familiar to things I've eaten at other Indian restaurants, there were new, unfamiliar choices as well. This place is on the small side with about ten tables. Food is ordered at the counter for takeout, or dine-in. About the food, it is delicious, plentiful and served in take-out containers, which made for and easy exit with all the leftovers. We only had to ask for lids. The staff was very friendly and helpful with describing the dishes. The young lady at the counter even brought us an extra dish, but it may have been unintentional as it was a similar dish as one we ordered, only in the chicken variety. I now have another great place it satisfy my craving for good Indian food.

My dine-in lunch at this new southern Indian restaurant included flavorful food, good portions, great service and some nice extras. The Chettinadu chicken gravy entrée ($14.00) was served with a smile eight minutes after I ordered at the counter. It included good portions, plenty of flavor and choice of plate or banana leaf. Unfortunately, the chicken was very bony. The service from every employee was helpful, polite and professional - nice! Staff also walked through the dining area offering complimentary papadum(?) and neer more (spiced buttermilk). I found the dining area to be clean and freshly remodeled with Indian background music (not too loud) and three TVs (off). I wish they offered lunch specials and meatier chicken. Overall, very nice!

    Non-vegetarian thaali

Very delicious food! My wife and I got the non-vegetarian thaali, which came with chapati, rice, chicken 65, two chicken curries, fish curry, mutton curry, rasam, Sambhar, and payasam. Could easily distinguish the flavors of all of these curries from each other. It was little expensive ($25 per an order) though we were glad that we had it. You should come hungry before eating a thaali. However, one area that was a disappointment was the cleanliness. We came close to closing time at around 2:30 and we spotted dirty plates on several of the tables. If the cleanliness was a little better, this would be a great place to come.

Not recommend. Everything was cold we even asked multiple time to replace they dont pay attention. Also restaurant was dirty

I am so glad I started this new year right at Shagan's. Ambiance: They have few tables inside this restaurant and I also see this could be a popular pickup option for people. Menu: Staffs are incredibly kind here & you can take all your time in ordering your food because the menu offers a lot of good combo options. They have chaat, appetizers, entree & combo options (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian) My personal favorite is 2 entree combo which comes with jeera rice & bread. Bread can be a plain roti or paratha or naan or garlic/butter naan. You can also request Stuffed parathas for an up charge. What we ordered: - Vada Pav - 2 entree combo plate (Moong dal & Butter paneer) - Mango Lassi Both Moong dal & Butter paneer was served hot - perfect for a cozy/cold night. Spice & masala level was just perfect and I personally don't prefer too much overdose of color or masala in my butter paneer which messes up my gut. Vada pav was great too with a good amount of green sauce/paste (spicy & tangy) Just the perfect way to end the dinner with freshly made mango lassi. :)) Hopefully, will get back again to check out non-vegetarian entree options.

While we were inside ordering and looking at the menu, we spoke to the staff who were quite friendly and helpful when we needed anything. The interior of the restaurant was busy with constant line of people who came to sit to eat or grab their takeout orders. If it didn't come across the food was melt in your mouth delicious.
