    The ground beef dish.
    Dustin E.

I've been waiting a long time to come here and very much enjoyed our lunch today. I brought my wife and she had the butter chicken, which was a little too spicy for her. We were not given a warning about that. I had the ground beef dish. I cannot remember the name, but it was also pretty spicy. However, the owner did advise me of that and I absolutely loved it. This place is very popular in the food market. There was a line here almost the entire time and none of the other restaurants. The naan bread was good and super hot. I would eat here again, anytime. Very high-quality food, but my wife was a little disappointed because hers was too spicy for her to enjoy.

What an experience !! So we had the opportunity to take a cooking class with Sohaila. I will start with her enthusiasm for food. From the moment she started talking through the ingredients we would be using, you could feel her passion for cooking. I must admit I love to cook, but I have a new appreciation for seasonings and preparation after listening to her talk is through the process. We were tasked with preparing Samosas, and I must say i feel I did pretty good the first time around. Sohaila provided step by step demonstration from what and where to buy the most cost-effective ingredients, to how you prepared the season pallet and then the main show of filling and crafting the samosa. In addition to our preparation of Samosas, Sohaila prepared Chicken Karahi, which was savory and delicious as well. I will warn it as I am not a spicy food lover, so there was a little kick, but who doesn't love a little spice ever now and then. The ambiance was relaxed, plenty of room to work, sound was loud enough to follow along and hear the instructions being given. What I loved the most was to learn that in addition to running her own restaurant, she does these cooking classes pretty often as well. She loves to share her passion for Pakistani comfort food with as many people who are willing to enjoy the heart and soul into it. So, if you are looking for something different for your pallet and a break from your normal menu. You should check out Sohaila's. Cooking class would be a great date night as well for a group of friends or family. Main ingredients as Sohaila put it were Heart & Soul

Love this place! Sohaila's Kitchen is inside Lenexa Public Market with other restaurants inside too. I heard about this place from my best friend who went to a wedding with the owner's daughter. For a while, my friend would ask if I've been here and I just never found the time to until recently. Very fast service and incredible food. It really tastes like a home cooked meal you get at a friend's house. I could try everything and definitely want to in the future. I really loved their chicken biryani. It was spiced so perfectly and very comforting. Their vegetable curry was light but filling in a good way. I also tried one of their rotating specials, chicken karahi which is a little spicy but very flavorful spicy. Everything is provided in to go containers which is nice because they do give a good amount of food. If I was very hungry, I prolly could finish one meal in an entire setting but I would definitely be in a food coma the rest of the day. I highly recommend people to try this place out. Love this Pakistani comfort food that has great quality! You will feel so happy eating this food!

Such a great place to grab a quick bite of delicious Pakistani food! The service is great and quick. You get large portions for the price. Lenexa Public Market is a great place to go with a group because there are quite a few food options. Everyone that works here is always super friendly too! Today I got the butter chicken (my favorite) and some Golab Jamuns for dessert because my sister & nieces have never tried them.

Nice fresh Butter Chicken Bowl Naan Goat Biryani, Always a treat visiting this hidden jewel of food.

We always stop by Sohaila's when we're in the Lenexa Public Market area. The family is just the best! And their food is super tasty! Check out the daily specials menu and ask for recommendations. They let us order a 50/50 plate so we could try more entrees. Always an enjoyable meal surrounded by KC locals!

It's great trying new things, it's an even better experience when the host as gracious as this business owner. Lenexa public market has a few hidden gems and this is one of them. I've had the butter chicken and palak paneer. The butter chicken is my favorite of the two. You have the option of indoor vs outdoor dining which is lovely, especially on these beautiful summer days.

First things first, the friendliness and service are incredible! I met friends here while I was visiting KC, I requested to go here because of the rave reviews my friend had given this place prior to my visit! The food was delicious and made with love. The samosa chaat was incredible and the prettiest version I have ever seen! The pomegranate on top was a nice touch! The spice level was great! We also loved the environment. The kids played outside while we ate and caught up. There were games available to play inside, it was a really great vibe and fun place to gather. I would highly recommend and will be back next time I'm in KC!

Everything tasted wonderful, the service was great and I love going to Lenexa Public Market, a band was setting up as we were leaving.

A hidden gem in Lenexa market. The food is worth every penny and then some! Made from scratch recipes and lots of love straight from Momma Sohaila. So thankful to have a middle eastern dish close to home. Samosa Chaat is to die for! Support local!

    Samosa chatt

This was such a good place to eat! Customer service was fantastic she let us try what was offered to see what we wanted. I got the samosa chatt and it was delicious! We saw them on tictok and came over from topeka to test them out.

Incredible butter chicken! A little spicy which i loved, but the rice helped with it. This was my first time here but I'll be back. I love that food halls have become a trend. Lenexa market has great indoor and outdoor seating.

    Samosa chaat. Delicious!

Over the weekend we were in the mood for Indian food so ordered DoorDash from India Palace. We'd…read morenever had this spot before as we typically order from Rucci, but I wanted to give a new place a try and honestly I'm glad we did as this one was a hit! We ordered chicken tikki masala, garlic naan, lamb samosas, and tandoori chicken. The first thing I want to note is that our total was around $50 including delivery and tip, which for two entrees, an appetizer, and a side I think is pretty decent these days. The naan was an exceptional deal - I think coming in at under $4 an order. Since it was so cheap I wasn't sure how much to expect so I got a few and it was more than enough - you probably only need one to share if you are on the fence. Now let's get to the food: the samosas were great. I've been on the hunt for some carry out samosas nearby and these fit the bill. They also came with some fun sauces so I'll for sure be ordering them again. The chicken tikki masala was actually spicy at a medium heat which was a fun surprise. Unlike our local thai spots that tend to go really hot with medium most Indian places we go to give us a super mild (even at medium spice) tikki masala so I enjoyed having some real flavor and heat! The naan was great, but tasted like all garlic naan (which is not a bad thing), the tandoori chicken was good but I thought a bit dry, hence the 4/5 stars. Overall, I liked this place a lot and I think we'll be ordering from them again!

But I got a wide selection of dishes, so that makes it worth it to me. I really liked the tandoori chicken and tikka masala. I'd probably rate this a 4, but what makes it an additional star for me is the warm chai! I absolutely loved the big warm self serve carafe of chai latte. It was delicious! Oh, and a combination of the mango puree and rice pudding was the perfect ending to my tour of Indian food. I'll be back!

We ordered the non-veg dinner for 2 for $55 and it was a steal! We had soup, samosas, with chicken dishes, cauliflower dish, rice, naan, and a dessert. It was more than enough food for me, my husband, and my son. We even had leftovers. Everything we had was delicious and made fresh! The owner (I believe) came and checked on us and told us to check out the lunch buffet whenever we stop by again, which we definitely will! This is…read morea sister restaurant of Taj Mahal restaurant in Waldo, which also serves tasty high quality food. This is a North Indian style buffet showcasing flavors primarily from the state of Punjab, India or overall Northern India. I went in on a snowy day when all the other Indian buffets were closed, but only Spice of Bombay was serving finger-licking food. As soon as I entered, I was warmly greeted by the server and taken to my table. She instantly asked what type of naan I would like plain or garlic and I had to choose garlic Naan with lots of butter! After that, I did not waste any time and went straight to the buffet, which had a wide variety of food on display. Starting from the left were the non-veg curries: butter chicken, chicken curry, mutton curry, tangy tandoori chicken which I wasn't a big fan of, etc., followed by the veg sabjee and curry section. I was blown away by the variety of vegetarian food they had to offer, and I think that was the best part of the buffet - saag, mushroom mutter, dal makhani, zucchini sabjee, paneer butter masala, baingan bharta, navratan korma etc.. just YUMmmmm... Then came the appetizer section, which had veggie pakora which was a little dense, along with fries and bhatura - rarely available at Indian buffet and goes well with the Channa Sabjee was clearly missing in the buffet. Lastly, there were salads, condiments, and sweets - gulab jamuns, mango pudding, and rice kheer. The clear winners for me from each section were the butter chicken - creamy and very tasty. Chicken was cooked perfectly, even though it was made with white meat. The saag and the korma - rich , a little tangy loaded with veggies and creamy from the vegetarian section, and the mango pudding from the sweets section - heavenly and transported me to the Indian mango fields. The buffet is priced at around $21, which is not too high for the food selection, but I really hope they include some hot or cold drinks along with the buffet, just like other Indian restaurants. Chai or some buttermilk would be a nice addition to settle down the stomach after having heavy food. When I asked the owner to check if chai was included, he sweetly gave me a cup of chai on the house. There are lovely flower arrangements throughout the restaurant which had a fresh energy and the restaurant is clean otherwise. To conclude.. food - 4/5, service - 5/5, and ambiance - 5/5. If you love hot Indian food even on a snowy day or on a weather aware day lol, this is your place to be.
