    Persian tea

We came to this restaurant for one goal & one goal only... to have Kaleh Pacheh. Kaleh Pacheh is a traditional Persian dish consisting of sheep's head, tongue, brain, eyes & trotters that is served as a breakfast soup!!! Ummm!! Yes you read that right. Certainly an acquired taste and most certainly not for everyone. I'm a firm believer of don't knock it till you try it. And I went 38 years without trying it. But it was finally time. Quite the site watching my beloved so happy having this dish after almost 6 years. I swear she would order another one if she had room for more. I must say, I didn't dislike it! lol Thank you Kabob Bazaar for a hell of a throwback.

Kabob Bazaar has been in business for years and years and a casual and delicious meal in this friendly environment is the reason why.  The menu offers a large variety of kabobs as well as stews and other dishes.  We opted for a bit of both and were not disappointed.  We started with the pita and hummus which was a very generous portion.  Then we all passed around the barg kabob, shish kabob, fessenjoon and the dizzi sangi.  Everything was well cooked and flavorful.  We had never had fessenjoon before and it was fun to see it prepared tableside.  The staff was very helpful and kept our tea glasses well filled with a wonderfully fragrant spiced tea.  It was great to see all the families enjoying a meal together as much as we did during our time there.  We finished our meal with the baklava which was beautifully presented.  I tend to like my baklava with a little more honey but it was light and flaky and a great way to end our lunch.

This is my favorite Persian restaurant in the area - it's always a positive casual dining experience with friendly attentive staff and the most flavorful dishes!

This was my main squeeze for many, many years. But sadly, I recently moved away from the DC area. But every time I go back, kabob bazaar is always waiting for me. I love this place. I can't believe I've never left a review for it. My go-to is always the salmon kabob and Kaleh pache (lamb head stew) on Sundays. I can't wait to come back and eat here again! I miss my Persian food

This place still holds up. Started going to Kabob Bazaar back in 2010 with my coworkers. Went back last night and the food taste and quality remain top tier. The same staff are there and keeping the business going. The most recent renovations make the place look brighter. I'll keep going back!

I always walk by this place and want to try it but didn't get around to it until a few weeks ago. Placed a pickup order and it was ready a couple minutes before they said it would so pickup was very fast. The employees at the door and the bar were both very friendly. We ordered the kubideh kabob, jujeh kabob, kashk-e-bademjan, and a side of shireen polo and plain basmati. The chicken was surprising juicy (I don't love chicken breast) but the kubideh was just a tad dry. Both had very very good flavor though and I would get both again. The kashk-e-bademjan (eggplant dip) was incredible and I will probably get this every time we go here it was that good. The shireen polo was a tad sweet for me but still really good. We want to try the other 2 specialty rices as well, but the plain basmati is hard to beat. It looks like it still has saffron and some kind of butter or oil on it, it was anything but plain, so good. Last thing is the portion sizes. 2 meals and 2 sides was enough for probably 3.5 meals for us so the portions were definitely generous Will absolutely be back to try more of the food!

Food is good. It meat could be more tender. Atmosphere is nice. Service is excellent.

We have been a regular at Kabob Bazaar for well over a decade and they never fail to disappoint. Today they catered a luncheon for 30 and it was amazing. We went with the chicken kabob (their best protein option, inho) Shireen Polo (Basmati Rice with orange peel, saffron, almonds and pistachios), a tray of grape leaves, salad, fresh herbs and their delicious homemade bread with spicy yogurt dipping sauce. The food was perfectly prepared and ready for my pickup. They even loaned me some special insulated bags to transport it and keep it warm. They are friendly and accommodating. So many of our guests wanted to know where the food came from that I ended up printing out their contact info and passing it out!

Nothing can be better than having a healthy Persian food in the heart of happening area in Arlington. Mr Abbas always welcome us with a lot of excitement and smile. Their food from the kababs to the stews are delicious and fresh. Mohammad and Behrooz are always present to make sure the quality of the food stay consistent. Their weekend specials are what we always go for with friends and family. The neck of lam with the rice is my favorite that they just added to the menu. I can tell this is the only place in the DMV area that has Dizi sangi and kalepache.

Kabob Bazaar serves Persian cuisine and the staff was so friendly! We started off with a bread basket with yogurt sauce. Most of the entrees are kabob based and the platter comes with a bed of rice, two pieces of roasted tomatoes. We were recommended corn hen for chicken, Barg for beef, and Shishleek for lamb kabobs. There are many options for combination platters too if you want to try different meats. We got the lamb soltani, which came with a skewer of kubideh (beef) and one lamb. Dizzi Sangi was on the specials menu and I really liked it! It's a lamb stew that came in a crock pot and you wrap it in bread with raw onions and pickled vegetables. We came on a Saturday evening and we're seated right away. We enjoyed the meal and would love to come back again and try other items on their specials menu!

For entrees, we shared the ghormeh sabzi and joojeh. Both were good, I especially enjoyed the heavily peppered veggies and pomegranates on the rice. The entrees were solid. However, the ambiance is lacking, and that is one area they could easily improve with dimmer lighting at dinner. The space is washed out with overly bright lighting that makes it feel more like a fast food joint. The cocktails are also lacking. They have interesting drinks, but they are not well mixed, with way too much juice and way too much ice. I would be interested in trying the lunch menu, as the options are different. We came for dinner on a Friday, and while we may have enjoyed the food as a lunch takeout option, it did not hit as a Friday dinner spot.

The ambience is comfortable, the tables are nicely spaced apart and the noise level makes it possible to have a conversation easily. The food was meh. There was nothing particularly distinctive or flavorful about any of the appetizers or entrees that we ordered. The quality of the food was good, but the taste was nothing special. There was only one server working in the entire restaurant. He ran around the place and did his best. But he was truly overwhelmed. We ordered drinks to begin the meal, neither of them arrived. We ordered 3 appetizers and only 2 were brought to our table. At the end of the meal we were charged for the appetizer that we didn't receive. That is just not good form. Our service was extremely s-l-o-w. I enjoy myself when dinner is nicely paced. I appreciate being able to sit and savor dishes; and not be served entrees when I am still enjoying the appetizers. On the evening at KooKoo we waited nearly 45 minutes to receive the appetizers and another 45 minutes before the entrees arrived. That is just too slow. All in all, a disappointing dinner at KooKoo. There are other excellent Persian restaurants in DC and we won't be returning here.

I took a lot of the dips home - the bread was so delicious, I filled up quickly. My friend thought the salad (Salad Alamut) was ok, but the soup (tomato based) was very good. We each had a decaf cappuccino, which were also very good. The service was outstanding. The bread basket was refilled several times and our water glasses were tended to very well. The place was not crowded and we had a leisurely lunch that lasted almost 3 hours. There was no impatience to present us with the bill, and, after we paid, we were still offered refills on water as we lingered for a few more minutes. Excellent service! We felt very welcomed here. The restaurant has a traditional Persian restaurant appearance. It's nice and light, a bit fancy in appearance, but not stuffy.

First, I didn't realize it was a sit down and order restaurant, I was used to short order. I was quickly seared and within a couple minutes one server had brought me water as well as fresh tandoori bread and a delicious spicy green sauce to go with it. A second server appeared quickly to take my order. I explained I was used to short order, and all I wanted was their version of chicken and steak (not ground beef.) The waiter explained how he'd do the combo on the menu and off he went. Having looked at the menu, I feared this might be an expensive option, and it was. But a few minutes later I was presented with a platter of delicious looking steak, chicken, rice, onions, tomato, and event a char-roasted jalapeño. It was enough food for my wife and I have had for dinner between us, so the price was well justified. Every thing was delicious. At the end of the meal, I asked if I could order another tandoori bread, and get a small to-go container of the green spicy spread to bring home for wife to try. They brought me both a generous helping of bread and the sauce, and charged me for neither. This service, combined with a delicious meal that, while expensive, will end up being three meals, means this is definitely a spot I plan to go back to as well as recommend.
