They put a lot of crumb bread and also they had some grand chicken and grand chicken fat most of the restaurant they do that if you are professional, you can tell from taste of the food. They give you chickpea soup taste disaster honestly it was wasting the time and the money and I pay $15 for ground beef kebab with the bread. I disappointed also inside was not clean. Honestly if food was good. I do not care about inside the restaurant, but everything was bad. One of the top five horse restaurant for the kebab I ever been shame I don't know still Oner from Iran or not. They have some picture in the wall, which is hundred percent is Iranian restaurant only people from Iran understand but food was disaster kitchen employee everybody they are Spanish. No judgment. I work in Restaurant at least you have someone from that country. They can run the business or kitchen staff. It is OK. They can be from anywhere. Came here on my way home after work on a Monday around 7pm. I actualy thought this place was Mogul at first. The exterior is very unassuming and one could easily deduce this place epitomizes hole in the wall restaurants. I ordered the number 3 meal which included chicken and beef kabobs over rice. Total came out to $12.55 which in my opinion is way over priced. When I got home to sample this meal I was sorely disappointed at how bland the basmati rice was, and how dry and flavorless the chicken was. The ground beef kabob was the only thing that tasted okay. I would not recommend this place when you have much cheaper and much better alternatives such as Mirage which is just a block or two down the street. Perfectly reasonable, if not particularly memorable Middle Eastern food in a setting that is more cafeteria-like than anything else. I found the price a bit on the high side for what you receive. You make your order first, then sit down and wait for them to get your attention when the food is ready. It is a bit confusing for the newcomer and the staff seemed impatient with people still kind of figuring the system out. But the food was served fresh and hot. With many competing alternatives now available, would not go out of my way to go there for a meal. But, a safe option if you are nearby. read more

Amazing hole in the wall kabob place. Beats many of the other places I have been too (Moby Dick, Ravi Kabob and the likes). Got #15 the Chicken and Lamb platter and loved it. The side chickpeas were a little bland for me (needed salt and spice), but overall the food was delicious. The meat is grilled to perfection (no joke).The green sauce they give you is hot and I am Indian so eat sparingly. I wish they also provided the tzatziki sauce with the platter so had to ask for it. The side salad goes well, so does the grilled tomato and onions. The bread is toasted and warmed very nicely. I highly recommend the platter. The chicken sandwich was good too. I liked the platter a whole lot more. The ambiance is not the greatest, but honestly the tasty food makes up for it. read more

The Good: The bread really is good. It taste like it's made fresh and is huge. I ordered the Chicken Soltani which is one chicken kabob and one kubideh kabob. It comes with a small "salad", roasted tomato and onion, and bread. The chicken was moist but kubideh is more flavorful and tender. The Bad: The parking lot is terrible and awkward. The decor is outdated, falling apart and dirty. The Ugly: The kitchen is in the back but the grill is in the front. At one point the cook carried a dripping skewer of marinated raw meat from the back of the restaurant to the front. It dripped on the floor. I did not see them clean it up. This is so gross and unsanitary. I don't think I'll be back again... read more

I started visiting Bread and Kabob in the very early 2000. Back when Tony s Pizza was the place to go and Baileys Crossroad felt like downtown somewhere. I must admit this place used to be IT. the old reviews are definetely accurate and tales of a time that is now LONG GONE. The place is now a mediocre eatery at best and staff and management a complete joke. They seem to hire the least motivated workers the world has to offer. My food was actually burnt, with chicken so hard it was hard to chew. Lastly their price do not reflect the lousy food and service that they bring into your life. No longer worth the detour. I am very certain that there are worthwhile restaurants out there. We will not be returning there. read more

This is a definite favorite lunch haunt of ours. Though I've eaten here many times, I've never gotten the lamb chops. I had no idea what I was missing. I am told they marinate them for 24 hours before cooking them. They are so tender and delectable and they don't skimp on how many they give you. Then there is the bread - I love bread and this is awesome bread, though one of these days I should probably try the rice. Another thing I love about this place - the people. They are always friendly. I look forward to my next lunchtime visit. Bread and Kabob is good, but not great. Bread and Kabob is a small, somewhat hidden Middle Eastern place in Falls Church near Bailey's Crossroads. It's not exactly clean or inviting - more or less the sort of place you'd expect to exist on Columbia Pike, honestly. Service is nice but maybe a bit brash. Prices are a bit high for lunch or otherwise. I got the Steak Kabob, which consisted of a single meat skewer, a ton of rice, and some sort of chickpea soup. I also got some of the naan. The skewer itself was tasty but perhaps a bit wanting - frankly, considering it was the more expensive item on the menu ($11), I was hoping for more meat. The rice was absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. The soup was small, but surprisingly good. The naan was similarly good and, as is true to form, almost unreasonably huge. The accompanying green sauce - which I slathered on virtually everything - added a lot, as it was the perfect accompaniment to the entire meal. Really, had the meat been a bit more plentiful, I'd have been perfectly satisfied. Some of the photos appear to indicate that the chicken and lamb skewers are bigger, which may be the ticket. I've been coming to this joint on-and-off since 2006. This cozy hole-in-the-wall used to be awesome. Two years ago (back in 2009), I would have rated this place 4 stars. I went to this restaurant again (after 2 years) this past Monday, December 26. The place has gone downhill. I always used to get the Kubideh, and it was always mouth-watering. Now, the meat is dry and bland. This goes for the chicken, too. Another difference I noticed was the quantity. The meat portion was smaller than before. The same goes for the Shiraz salad. They seem to serve more rice (or bread) to make-up for less meat and salad. It is not the value that it used to be. Also, the Chukni (the green sauce made from cilantro) is very thick and almost tasteless compared to before (and compared to other kabob joints). The quality is just not the same. After I finished the meal, I found-out that the place has a new owner. The previous owners were Persian. The new owner is from Morocco. Not that ethnicity has anything to do with the quality. I think the new owner made changes which have harmed the historic quality of the restaurant. read more

Eh this place wasn't anything amazing. I came here in the first place because they had dizi, an iranian poor man's dish of stewed potatoes, beans and mean, that you mash together and eat with bread. They also had some other dishes that you usually don't find at kabobi's but they just weren't anything I'd drive all the way to fall's church for again like the kabobed heart and liver or the kaleh patche, a dish of sheeps head and leg, a traditional iranian breakfast food believe it or not! We ran in five minutes before closing, and they still served us - even better, with fresh food (fresh kebab & kofte, freshly made bread, fresh rice)... when they totally could have just given us the day's leftovers, or even worse, said they were closed. I ordered the Kebab Soultani (known as "mixed grill" to middle-east lovers, and also the big hint that this place is Iranian) which was excellent. The inside isn't chic & sexy... but it doesn't need to be. The place might seem like a hole in the wall, but the food is great and you can't ask for much more. Green sauce is unmatched here. You can't beat it. Kabobs are pretty good. Chicken and then steak kabob are my favorites. Chick peas are good too and the bread is amazing. I would add 1 more star if they could stay consistent with their kobideh kabobs. At the end of the day this place is way better then Ravi or kabob palace or any other kabob place in va that I have tried so far. And believe me I have probably tried them all. The food and offerings here are excellent and exciting to try. Always one of my favorite places to eat. The interior is very clean. The meat was absolutely tender in all the meals I had here. In all of the meals, the meat was strongly flavored in rich spices. The spicy sauce given with the dish was absolutely delicious and went perfectly with the dish. Everything blended so well together. How sad that there are no Iranian kabob places left in Falls Church. Another classic Iranian restaurant that has been taken over by south Americans. Perhaps one of the worst kabob's I have ever had. Not a single middle eastern person in this place. I ordered the chicken and koobideh combo. One of the easiest kabob's to prepare. The rice was dry, the chicken was over cooked and the koobideh was below average. The place is called "Bread" and kabob, yet they don't even give you any bread. WTF. If you are going there for the first time, I would definitely recommend the Chicken Sultani - a combination with chicken and beef skewers. All this for $8.50 is a great value when you consider that Grill Kabob in Tysons charges around $15 for the same kind of Combo. You can get the platter with rice but I personally prefer the freshly baked tandoori naan. Lately, the service has become much much better. I have never had a dryer kubideh kabob. The corners of the bread was charred which meant the parts that werent were stiff as a board. I went to the front and told the guy that its unacceptable. Pretty good for a smaller kabob restaurant. You'll be immediately enamored by the smell of this place. It's also easy to find what you want due to their simple yet plentiful menu. Chicken sultani is my go to for any kabob restaurant. Here's my only complaint, the meat was a little dry. I'd be willing to try this meal again with the meat cooked a little less. The green yogurt sauce was amazing and definitely helped, but it's a bit on the spicer side so it isn't for everyone. Try it with regular yogurt sauce if you don't like spicy.
