I had a lamb kabob sandwich or wrap, which was good. I had a side of fries, which were also good. As a drink I had some kind of Indian tea, which was good as well. The staff were nice and the service was fast and friendly. The only thing I suggest is adding a recycling bin and making the bathrooms look more interesting by adding some nice decor or a wall mural. Always a go to for me. I think the portion size of the salmon given has decreased though. I usually get salmon kabob with chickpeas and sweet pumpkin, naan, salad, and rice. It always hits the spot. We happen to stumble upon this place tucked away in the lobby of an office building. We are very glad we did. It's a family run place with a very friendly and attentive owner and staff. I had the chicken and lamb platter which had generous portions enough to share with my wife and leave us plenty full. The chicken was just right, not too bland or spicy and perfectly moist. Moved across the street here recently so decided to try it out! The man behind the counter (we didn't catch his name) was really friendly and funny. The portions are pretty large and the different meats were all moist and seasoned perfectly. For sides we got the fried eggplant (absolutely amazing) and chicken curry (pretty good but probably wouldn't get again). From the second I walked in the door, the staff was very friendly, helping me find what exactly I wanted to order on the menu. All 3 were very good, the beef was my favorite. First time there but am super impressed with my dinner. So it was the triple crown salad. But I am stuffed. I do not usually feel stuffed after a salad. I got this one because it has feta cheese, chicken kebab and gyro meat in it. It also comes with a piece of Afghani bread. I'm watching carbs so I did not take home the bread but it looks pretty awesome coming out of the oven. The man at the counter was very friendly. 14 dollars and change, plus a small take out tip. My friend lives around the corner from Kabob House, so we decided to check it out! Upon entering, the manager offered us a sample cup of hot soup, perfect for this cold night. Everything looked so good, but I HAD to get the Quabili Palau, which consists of lamb chunks, seasoned rice, sweet carrots and raisins. On the side was this delicious gravy and creamy spinach. Portion was MASSIVE, definitely good for two meals! The green sauce included on the side was also delicious. My friend really enjoyed her salad with the yogurt sauce too. I'm told that the algorithms filter out five-star and one-star reviews...so I resisted giving five stars just to make sure it got counted. But in the end, I HAD to give five stars because there's absolutely nothing about this place that I don't like. I've now had the lamb kabob platter and the chicken kabob platter and both were done perfectly. I read in some of the other reviews that some people found the chicken "dry." Mine was tender, juicy, well-spiced and offered in generous portions. The lamb, too, was fabulous. I don't know what spices are used to make the spinach so special, but it is a really terrific side. And as many have noted, the bread is to die for. Service was quick and cheerful...and the owner made a point of greeting my wife and me as we came in. And yes, it's not instant like McDonald's...but fercryinoutloud, it's fresh cooked! That's why it's delicious! My chicken kabob took about eight minutes from the time I ordered to the time I sat down to eat it. I can't complain about that... We just moved in to the apartment building upstairs, so it's a real treat to have this just an elevator ride away. But I'd come even if it were several blocks. Good stuff! read more

The gyro platter was delicious! It came with a large salad with onion, tomato and feta cheese. It was fresh and crisp, which complemented the heartier gyro. The gyro was not overly greasy and as they can be at other places. It had a good ratio of meat, veggies and sauces. While we waited, the person in charge gave us some delicious soup!! The gentlemen that own this establishment are true hospitality people and are always welcoming me with a small taste sampler of one of there sides that are all amazing. One time I came in as they where closing up and I didn't realize it at the time as it was one of my first visit. The owner insisted he make me food himself and pulled everything back out to do so. The problem with Kabob House isn't that the food is bad, it's just not anywhere as good as the surrounding restaurants. If you placed this restaurant in any small city in the US it would get good traffic as a solid place to eat. But solid doesn't cut it when I can spin in a circle on the street corner and see 4 great places. From a COVID perspective I was also not real happy that the employees were not wearing masks (cashier put hers on when I walked in, chef wasn't wearing one at all). But let's get into the review. I wanted a variety on my first trip to see how good the different offerings were and I am a sucker for good baklava. So I ordered the combo kabob (I mean it is the Kabob House after all) with chicken and beef, seasoned Afghan Rice, chickpea side and naan. The food was Ready when I got there and piping hot even after the walk home. The chicken had a nice flavor and was not over cooked. The beef was a little tough but again was seasoned well. The rice was just ok, and to be honest the only thing that wowed me on the plate was the salad. They have some great Italian dressing there. The naan was different than other varieties I had had before but it was ok as well. And herein lies the problem, everything was just ok. If all my friends really wanted to go here I know I would get a solid meal but I would have preferred to have something from around the corner that I know would have knocked my socks off. Even the baklava was good but not great, it was less flaky and more tough than it should have been. If you really really want a kabob then you get what you need here. But beyond that I would say pass on it and grab something else in the immediate area. read more
