The ladies who run this restaurant are the sweetest and super cute. They make this place what it is and go out of their way to attend to all requests. I visited on a weekday for dinner and was seated right away in what my friends and I called the 'VIP rooms.' This private booth definitely made us feel special. The pricing is very reasonable and lower than many other sushi places. I got two orders of the baked scallop roll, and it was delicious (I'd highly recommend it). The chef was also very generous with the meat--lots of imitation crab and scallops. My friends also ordered a variety of rolls, and everyone was satisfied with their choices. The only reason this isn't a perfect spot is because there was a delay in the food coming out. I'm not sure if it was a misunderstanding (I think it was) but we had to ask if our food was coming, as we waited about 40 minutes before it started arriving. When I walked in, it took them about 5 minutes to seat us and no one had talked to me or make eye contact until they ask her to follow them to a table. We get to sit in our little private room so the atmosphere were a little less noisy. I ordered salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, tempura udon and volcano ramen. -Samon and Tuna sashimi are fresh and came quickly once we place the order, -Tempura Udon is just okay. not ourstanding. 1 pc of shrimp, 1 pc of potato and 1 pc of onion. My friends and I had the 파닭 padalk (green onion chicken), salmon lover sushi combo, bulgogi dolsot bibimbap, jjambbong udon, Nagasaki jjambbong soup, and tempura udon. Any of the jjambbongs can be shared; the serving is ridiculously large. Apparently this is a sister restaurant to Matsu. Their sushi is similar. My 11yr old daughter wanted to go to TOMO for dinner for her birthday, she had gotten a Visa gift card $100 . we had ordered the sushi, we where told that each person had to order $20 worth of food , in order to get soup , salad and rice . I totally get the cut back at restaurants, every other sushi places brings it to the table . No matter what you order off the menu. So we Asked for the check 4x , finally my wife said let's go to the front and she can pay . The bill was $80 .15 my daughter gave the lady the gift card , that Should have left a balance of $19.85 on her card . My son left a cash tip of $25 on the table . We left and my daughter says I want Diary Queen so we go , she wanted to pay for own ice cream , the guy rings up her ice cream $ 6.35 and he tells her that there's $2.85 on the card . My wife pays the balance. She comes back to the table and says her gift card only had a balance of $2..85 ? So my wife calls the number on the back of the card and gets the transaction's . Come to find out they charged $ 97.15 . My wife is mad and drives back to Tomo and said I think you made a mistake you charged my daughters card $97.15 instead of $80.15 , the woman tells my wife that we add a charge for cards . No where is this posted , and I Wonder how many customers are being charged this $17 .00 fee on top of there bill . They where very adamant about my wife leaving, because there where other customers in the restaurant. My wife said I think I'll call FF county and make an inquiry about this procedure . Parking: there's not a lot of parking right in front of the restaurant. However, you can park in front of ihop and walk to Tomo. So technically there is a ton of parking, you may just have to burn a few calories before your meal :) Seating: there's a good number of tables and seats. I've gone with large parties (15 people), and they were able to seat all of us. You won't be able to split your bill individually, but they let you split it by table. Food: tbh it's not amazing, but it's not bad. My friends weren't super fond of their sushi, but I thought my udon (noodle soup) was pretty good. Maybe bc I was cold & wanted something warm haha Bathroom: they have restrooms in the back. They're pretty clean. Price: some things may be a little pricey, but most things seem like average prices. I got the seafood kalguksoo and galbi dolsot bibimbap this time. The kalguksoo was great with a good ratio of seafood/misc. contents and noodles. Soo filling and I couldn't even finish! This is my new favorite sushi place of all time. I am not kidding, I had one before this, and this one blew my previous ride or die out of the water. The fish is fresh, and even a simple California roll was so good that I was shocked by how amazing it tasted. The tuna is so high quality that I didn't immediately recognize it as tuna, thanks to the richness of both color and flavor. I got the roll combo, which came with a salmon roll, tuna roll, and California roll, as well as an order of Unagi sushi, which was perfect and mouth meltingly buttery, as any good eel nigiri should be. We both got sat immediately, and the server was so attentive that we had to ask them to come back because the menu looked so amazing. There are so many options just for sushi that both myself and my fellow guest were staring in wide eyed awe. The prices are completely reasonable for sushi, much less food of this quality, and the cool spicy specialty roll we shared was, honestly, too affordable for the nearly religious experience it gave me. Not gonna lie, the picture I took was mid meal, because it was so good I ate half of what was on my plate in five minutes or less. By the way, the food came out so fast it gave me whiplash- it was ordered while I was in the bathroom, and by the time I was able to stop taking selfies in the gorgeous bathroom mirror, the food was already at my table. (Bathrooms? Scary clean, the mirror was spotless AND made me look like an android with it's ring light. Nice!) The extended hours are also a major highlight for me, as I'm a night owl and it would be VERY hard for me to get anxious about staying too late like I usually do, since the restaurant is open until 2 am Tuesday-Saturday. The decor is cute, and there are these cool little private rooms by the front door that have little hanging curtains that can drop for a super intimate, private vibe. We didn't get one, they were full, but honestly I don't mind in the slightest, because the music was so groovy, and the restaurant pretty quiet at 9 pm on a Tuesday. To wrap up a ridiculously ADHD review, I will be coming here way more from now on. It's in a great location for me, though I will caution that you'll want to turn in at Old Centreville Road if you're coming from 28, and it's so good that the entire time I've paused eating to write this review, my mouth keeps salivating, begging me to go back for more. They also give a side of miso soup, salad with peanut sauce, and something that might be kimchi but I'm too white to pinpoint anything but the gochujang on it, to each customer. TL;DR: Solid choice for a late night meal I've been here many times now, but my favorite time to come here is late night. There are places open super late or 24 hours in this area, but those are usually soup or kbbq places. SERVICE: Definitely hit or miss. Some servers, at times, can be curt, but then the other servers are overly nice. Either way, there are always a lot of servers, so you'll always have what you need FOOD: Salmon Lover and Yellowtail lover: 3 pieces of sashimi, 3 pieces of nigiri, 1 maki, and 1 roll. Seems a little pricey at first, but it's a decent amount of sushi, so the price makes sense. Hwedupbap: Korean style sushi bowl: Best value and it's SO good! This is the main reason I come here. Seemed like a pretty average place based on the reviews but we were pretty disappointed all around with the experience. Upon entry, it felt like everything was rushed, the staff was quick to seat us which is nice but we hardly ever saw her again unless we pushed the call button. Every once in a while we would make eye contact or I would try to signal for a waitress and would be told just one minute. The food was sub par for the price you pay and the lack flavor and freshness. We went with the ramen which was full of broth but not so much substance (noodles, veggie, fish cake). It was hard to tell when the broth was made becasue it was soo salty. The sashimi platter sounded promising. They even had sushi chefs preparing the sushi so it looked like a good option. Fantastic sushi place. Very extensive menu from sushi, ramen, hibachi, udon soup, drunken noodles, etc. Sushi is filling with a lovely amount of fish to rice ratio. Great specialty roll selection. We LOVED the double salmon roll and the pink lady rolls!! Miso soup is so flavorful and yummy. Prices are incredibly decent for quality. No desert menu (but they have fried cheesecake) a little under impressed that regardless the amount of times I told the servers we were there to celebrate a birthday THEY NEVER DID A THING or brought anything or sang.
