This is hands down, one of the BEST Persian restaurants in the I.E. I love the quaint, middle eastern interior of the restaurant. I strongly recommend the "juicy chicken" which are essentially the juiciest saffron chicken-meat balls, served on a bed of basmati rice & a roasted tomato on the side. I usually order their delicious salad with their signature dressing, the one with the walnuts, feta cheese & dates alongside my meal. A good option for the area. Tasty, inexpensive food with generous portions. It took a while to find this place, hidden as it is next to a bunch of auto mechanics. But the drive through is seriously not to be missed! We did not drive through but the architecture is unique, to say the least. Our server was also wearing a call-center/drive-through type headset while we were there--quite an unusual juxtaposition to see in a sit-down restaurant. I ordered the "Tadigh" appetizer, and the waiter suggested the "Tadigh mixed" instead. Then, it turned out they were out of all the Tadighs (this was lunch), so ended up getting the eggplant appetizer, which was well-liked by everyone at the table. Thanks to yelp I found this nice restaurant!!! They claim to have "Indian" and Iranian food but I didn't even feel a hint of Indian cooking/spices. It's Iranian {period}. Food 5 Star (Iranian) Service . 2 Star (friendly but poor) This place is located between the two tire shops. You have to go from the ally- they do have a drive thru.....love it!!! (but call 15minutes before u pickup). Nice patio but too close to the road- if you set there eat FAST unless you don't mind flying dirt from the fast moving vehicles on the road. Inside: as soon as you walk it in has rich almost fine restaurant feel but over shadowed by the pictured menu and the board. Service: server was friendly but super slow. If you have had a chance to visit other Iranian restaurants (i.e, Caspian etc..) then you will love this place. it's more relaxed, bit cheaper and similar food. Went in the first time to meet up with a friend for lunch and hookah, first of all , it's spacious and heavily decorated so it gives you that Mediterranean hut vibe. The server was working alone but he did well the food took some time but that's cool cuz it was good. So all around this is a good place to hang out and have good food. Tried this place today with my fiancé.. It is kind of a weird location surrounded by mechanics shops so we missed the turn the first go around.. Once We figured it out we went in and were greeted & seated right away.. For appetizer we ordered a yogurt, cucumber dip that went well with the bread they brought as well as a shirazi salad which was freshly prepared and had a very light and zesty taste. For the main dish I had the filet mignon & barg kebob combo with rice while my gorgeous better half had chicken kebob & rice.. Both were seasoned very well very tasty and cooked to perfection.. The rice was nicely cooked and flavorful. I think I liked the chicken the best as it was very tender & juicy but the filet was good as well.. For dessert we had baklava & zoolbia which are little fried dough balls soaked in syrup.. The zoolbia was fresh but the baklava was brought in.. This was a late lunch but with the amount of food they gave it turned into a lunch/dinner as I am too stuffed to eat anything else. Overall very excellent but I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to being a little pricey for a restaurant that is above fast food but below fine dining.. It seems as if the lunch prices are a way better deal plus despite everything else being fresh the baklava was not.. Filet mignon on a skewer, you cant get any better than that. i went with my fiancee this weekend and we had no wait to get a table. The staff is very courteous, and was quick to get us our drinks. I had the beef kabob and it was perfectly tender with the perfect amount of seasoning. The kabob came on a bed of saffron rice and came with a salad. This saffron rice was just about the best i have ever enjoyed and may just make me a fan for life.... Much like the other reviews, I will vouch that their food is good. Problem is, it's just that... good, not great. Had their online ordering and take out service not have been glitchy or their wait staff actually attentive I would have rated much higher. Let's start with the positives.... 1) The location does take out and catering services, from my experience the quality of food doesn't suffer at all when either of these options is selected. 2) Their food is good and their portions are large and satisfying. The quality of koobideh kabab is not up to par with Darya (my personal favorite) but it is very good and almost as good as Rumi's up the street. 3) They really seem to strive to do good, problem is their wait staff is just not up to the task. Now for some feedback on where to improve... 1) They've obviously trained wait staff to focus on providing good customer service, problem is, if you're not in their immediate focus, you're nobody to anyone in the restaurant. I had to give an intense stare down to capture someones attention and when I did, I was brushed off. One woman was apologetic for the 35 minute wait time I experienced after having placed my order online over an hour prior. All told from the time I ordered to the time I was eating was close to two hours. That is not acceptable, especially if I get a frustrated and lukewarm apology from the one obviously overworked female employee who was struggling to correct her male counterparts evasive actions. 2) Fix the online ordering system. I'm pretty sure the problem lied in whoever accepts the order forgot to alert the cooks in the back to process the oder. After ordering online and receiving a confirmation that my order was accepted, I arrived to find a young man essentially tell me that the order would be put through. I was not happy with that response and was not provided with any explanation of timing, update or apology for a potential delay. I was asked to 'please take a seat and wait for a bit.' I did and was growing more and more frustrated with the wait. 3) The food as I had mentioned is good but a competitor up the street's quality is better (in my opinion). The koobideh was juicer and the rice was more moist without being greasy at the competitor. At KabobHutt the koobideh and chicken offerings were moist but the quality and texture left a little to be desired compared to the competition. I waited about a week before posting my review because I didn't want to write one in utter rage after being left hungry for a while. Unless I have a very compelling reason to go back, I intend on making the drive to the OC or going up the street for my Persian cuisine. If you've got to have Persian food, KabobHutt will do however be ready to wait a while if you order online or experience a problem. read more

My dad is from Iran, so I've grown up eating Persian food. For most of my life, we'd have to trek out to Orange County to find some, but now with Kabob Hutt, it's just a short drive! I got the chicken barg (essentially grilled chicken that's marinated in some amazingness that I can't identify - it's savory and just a hint of tangy) with basmati rice (cooked with saffron, giving it a nice yellow color). It comes with a grilled tomato - some people love it, others hate it. I love tomatoes, so I love it. Sprinkle some sumac seasoning all over the dish - mouthwatering perfection. Also got the shiraze salad (cucumber, tomato, and onion with citrus juice and parsley) - refreshing, but definitely more cucumber than tomato. Maybe tomato's more expensive these days...? The only TRUE disappointment of this meal was the doogh (yogurt drink). It came in a bottle and was carbonated - not the way I'm used to it! It was - in my estimation - undrinkable. Definitely an anomaly because everything else was superb. Another fantastic bonus to this place is that you can order online and pick it up. I believe they even deliver (but I don't live in Corona, so I didn't try). But being able to order ahead then pick it up on the way home when you're ready for dinner -- doesn't get much easier and AWESOME-er than that!!!! I'm going back. read more

I usually go to this place because it's close and convenient but after tonight's customer service, I am sure I will return anytime soon. My server by the name of Marita was absolutely horrible. She did not care about the service because it's only a job for her, not customer service. It was my wife and two young daughters for a night out. We ordered two main entrees and she only ordered one food item and brought one entree for dinner. The restaurant only had two tables that needed service and she couldn't even accommodate that. 1. Didn't bring our complete order and we had to reorder and had to wait for 25 minutes to eat again. 2. Never came and cleared the table and never came once to ask us if anything else was needed. 3. Never came once to refill our water glasses. Some other waiter with our bill and we complained about Marita to her and did not matter to him as well and he never apologized once for the service we as a family received. Not going back ever or for a long time as I was a regular customer to this place. Maybe you should think twice about this place. read more

This is my favorite Kabob places of all time. I never had Kabob's this good anywhere else. I used to visit this place almost every week when I was living in Corona. The Chicken Koobideh double skewer fills you up good and then some more. Its not all about the quantity either, the taste is awesome. The skewers are always perfectly charbroiled, not less, not more and they are always juicy. If you don't want too many carbs that come with the wonderful rice, substitute with the House Salad(not just any salad), its amazing and a dry fruit lover's dream. If you like it hot, don't forget ordering the Chilli Salsa(Kinda weird why they would call it salsa). Add some salt and squeeze a couple of lemons into the salsa and mix it up with the rice for best results :). If I have to complain about one thing this place could improve on, it is the Serving time. They take a while to take our order and get it ready. The trick is to know what to order before hand. The waitresses are always friendly, but for some reason, they seem to be short staffed sometimes. But all in all, a great place, which I will definitely visit if I am ever in the area. read more

First time checking out this place, I drive by every day. I checked the internet as to hours of operation. Shows restaurant opens at 9:30 am. I arrived at 9:37 am. Restaurant was nowhere near being open. I sat at the drive-thru screen, no one asked for my order. I pulled up directly to the drive through window. Placed my order there when some guy opened the window upon seeing me. I was planning on ordering Dolmeh (stuffed grape leaves). It's on the internet menu, apparently discontinued in reality. OK. I ordered the chicken bowl, $8.99 (expensive!). I was hoping for spectacular. I ordered a small side of Tzatsiki. $4.99. Yes. Bonus, it came with a dry bunch of what I'm guessing I'm supposed to believe is pita. Really, it was dry flour tortillas. TWENTY-FIVE minutes later being the only car in the drive-thru, I'm still waiting. I had to honk to get the guy inside to open the window and give me an ETA. The food is OK, pull it together though. So I've been coming for years to this restaurant and I love Persian food. I look forward to having Ghormeh Sabzi and Fesejon. Unfortunately they no longer are serving it after many years. The chicken barg and beef kubideh is really good but I guess if I want real Persian Cuisine I'll go to Rumi's Persian Cuisine down the street on Main Street. We usually get carry out. Today we decided to eat there. The service was below standard, felt I was at Taco Bell with higher prices. We ordered kabob plates, It had hair in our rice, right away within seconds informed the waitress she informed someone else and they did not even apologize, she took the plate and said "I'll change it" went in the kitchen and came back a couple of minutes later and set it down on the table, again not even an apology or any decent customer service. We ordered desert, never got it. After the bill was brought to us, before we paid the bill, we again reminded the manger we still are waiting for the desert. She brought the desert. We paid the bill while eating the desert. Then the server came back and said we paid the wrong amount. We had paid the amount is bill we tole her, we then realized she had forgot to add the desert and was accusing us of paying wrong amount and told her its again their fault for forgetting to add desert. Again poor customer service by both, no apology and we paid the difference. We asked for the owner, she was not there we were told. Honestly we only eat here because we love Persian food and and grew up on it, and it's the only local Persian food otherwise the food is so so and the service sucks! Also, even though it's a Persian restaurant, no one that works there speaks Farsi or is Persian so the experience is not the same either. LOL if you want amazing service, amazing Persian food and to really experience the culture, the closest place I know is in Orange County: Caspian restaurant in Irvine and Darya in Costa Mesa ... I barely ever write reviews ever ... but this shit shack deserves it. I came here about a year ago , ordered the burger and fries, and a hookah. Normally the food is always good, but that day it was horrible and the hookah was like smoking out of a diesel truck exhaust pipe. I didn't smoke and didn't eat and told them I'm not paying for the hookah, it was horrible. Long story short they banned me for not wanting to pay for there backyard hookah. Fast forward a year later I come back because a friend told me her experience was good, I order the same thing hookah and burger, and what do you know shit again. Horrible service, don't refill drinks , burger tasted like it was cardboard, fries where like tree branches, and the hookah was as if I'm smoking asphalt. Can't believe I wasted my money on this shit hole of a spot. Kabob Hutt should be shut down they are giving Persian food a bad rep. Ps. This place is going downhill. We had been getting food from here for many years. But after our disappointing experience lately, we have decided to never go there or recommend any of our friends ever. My husband ordered food over the phone and was there in 20 mins. They made him wait for another 30 mins. No apologies. When he brought the food home , the chicken koobideh was beyond burnt. As a vegetarian it can be trying to go to new places - Kabob Hutt, however, has an entire vegetarian section. The Ghormeh Sabzi was delicious, and the tadiq was perfect. The borani was perfect - I'd recommend any time of any day. The baklava was not too heavy or too sweet - it tasted light as I helped myself to a third piece. Even the tea was delicious. This place used to be good when they first opened, but their service has gone way downhill and it has been horrible dining in. It is like I am doing them a favor to be there. They do not even check back on you for drink refills. So I figured I should call in my orders instead. The staff answered the phone without giving even giving a chance to speak her, hung up on me twice, then put me on hold for 5 mins without ever checking back on me. Our server was friendly, the restaurant is nice, the patio looks inviting...but the service was rather slow. There was no one to greet us or seat us and that was our first impression of the restaurant...did they really care that anyone came in? An employee who wasn't on the clock seated us. The acoustics in the restaurant are strong, so when a family with 3 little ones screamed our ears drums were pierced!! The food was tasty, but nothing to write home about. I'm glad I tried the Kabob Hutt, but I probably won't be revisiting anytime soon. The last time I ordered from here I found glass in my rice. I decided to come back once more and this time the prices were off the charts high. Normally we order 3 chicken tenders and a small hummus for 29 and some change... now 3 chicken tenders just came to 53! Kinda over this place. When explaining what we normally order we ended up telling 3 different people it's chicken sitting on rice. The looks we got were like we were making it up. Between glass in my food and now the price gouging for less I believe I will steer clear of this place and urge others to as well.
