My family loves coming to Kabobi Grill. It's one of our favorite places to enjoy a family-style meal together. Even when it's busy--which is most of the time--they do a great job of getting everyone seated without a long wait. We almost always order the family meal. It starts with their fresh Persian salad and creamy hummus, which are the perfect way to begin the meal. The kabobs are always flavorful, tender, and cooked perfectly, and the rice is just as delicious. My only suggestion would be to include a few more grilled vegetables on the family platter, as they pair so well with the rest of the meal. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, which is one of the many reasons we keep coming back. If you're looking for delicious Persian food that's perfect for sharing, Kabobi Grill is a great choice.

06/30/26 - Kabobi Grill as always excellent food & service. They use to be around the corner on Kedzie Ave just south of Lawerence Ave. Now they're on LAWERENCE just east of Kedzie Ave. Same great food super lunch specials that are always 2 meals. Today I ordered the chicken & filet kabobs w/dill rice. Served w/a cucumber, tomato & onion salad, excellent hummus & a piece of toasty pita bread.

Kabobi never disappoints! This was our first time inside the new location on Lawrence. The service was great, the food was ready in no time! The portions seemed even bigger at the restaurant! I ordered the chicken kebab and rice with sour cherries. So delicious and so worth the extra charge. Every entree is shareable which definitely makes it worth the money!

We stopped by as a group of 5 for dinner Sunday night and we were promptly seated. We visited Chicago for St. Patty's, but my two Persian friends were eager to show us some authentic food and Kabobi did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious and I particularly loved the Shami and Koubidehs. The koubidehs were so tender and juicy. The service was phenomenal and they even brought us some tea and dessert (bamieh) for free. Kabobi is open late and was the perfect spot to chat while the rain died down. Definitely coming back when I'm in Chicago next time!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a spot to eat after an event, and the place we were planning to go to initially had its kitchen closed. We were looking up a nearby restaurant and came across Kabobi. Omg. Hands down the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. We ordered either the Mixed Grill #1 or #2, and everything was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. I'm not usually a big fan of chicken, but this was honestly the best chicken I've ever had!! It was also our first time trying bamieh, and they gave us tea and the bamieh on the house. Both were absolutely delicious!!! What a great combination. This is a spot we think about often, and we definitely need to make a trip back. Our wish is for Kabobi to open up in the burbs! Interior is simple and spacious, and everyone there is very friendly. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Kabobi!!

Caspian Mix Grill (~$25) with Albaloo Polo (~$6)

Ordered: Caspian Mix Grill (~$25) with Albaloo Polo (~$6): 1 skewer boneless chicken breast, 1 skewer filet mignon marinated in a pomegranate walnut sauce, with grilled onion, raw onion, and butter Bamieh & Balava (complimentary) Aya's take: I was really craving Persian food before leaving Chicago and decided to place an order for pickup to take on my way. I arrived 25 minutes later and they hadn't even made my order. From there, 3 different people told me it'll be another 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 15 minutes. I ended up waiting 20 minutes and during that whole time there was no apology. One of the workers handed me a tea and later I saw they included dessert in the bag. It was a nice gesture but I was frustrated that it wasn't acknowledged by the staff at all and part of my order was still missing. I paid $2.25 for a Yogurt & Cucumber Sauce which I never received. The Caspian Mix Grill with Albaloo Polo was very good. The filet mignon & chicken breast were both juicy and well-seasoned. The Albaloo Polo is plain basmati rice mixed with saffron, caramelized onion and sauteed sweet & sour cherries. I liked the rice but it felt like they just threw the cherries on top rather than incorporate it into the rice. It was very filling, enough to share with 2 people, and good value. The Bamieh & Balava were also fresh, sweet, and a nice bite to end on. Ultimately, I would give the food a 4/5 and the service a 2/5, hence my 3/5 rating.

Kabobi was such a good pick for iftar. We came about 30 minutes before iftar and even though it was super packed, everything came out right on time, which I really appreciated. They also have a Ramadan special going on, which made it feel even more festive. The food came out warm, fresh, and full of flavor. Everything tasted really good and satisfying after fasting. The service was also great despite how busy it was, and the staff handled the rush really well. Definitely recommend making a reservation the day of, especially during Ramadan, because it gets busy fast. Overall, a really solid spot for iftar with tasty food, good service, and a nice Ramadan atmosphere.

Amazing service and generous portions of food, like you will have multiple meals of food for one dish. We ordered a lamb biryani and the spinach beef stew. Both were delicious and flavorful! We were with friends and at the end of our meal, they brought out free tea and a free Persian dessert for us to have, which were really nice. They didn't rush us at all and kept bringing tea and dessert! So 100/10 on hospitality and service.

Ambiance - casual, great for large groups Service - you are first seated down, then you have to go back up to the front counter to order & they give you a number to place on your table Food - massive food portions & definitely recommend sharing, saffron butter chicken was super creamy

    Lamb and chicken mixed grill

I came here late at night wanting something filling, and this place did not disappoint. The prices seemed like a lot, but the portions were even more. We got the mixed grill with lamb and chicken. The meats were super tender and just melted in your mouth. To pair it with all the rice, vegetables, butter, and naan that it's served with only made it that much better. I don't think any place could top this for authentic, delicious Persian food. The desserts were also amazing. This might have been the best baklava I've ever had. It was perfectly flaky, not too sweet, but done beautifully. We also wanted to try the Zulbia, which is just like a funnel cake with honey on top. It was pretty good, but the sweetness quickly took over and made it difficult to finish since it was covered with sugar. The restaurant itself was buzzing. Especially late at night, when everything around the area is closed, Kabobi was filled with people just filling out the atmosphere. The restaurant itself is just one really big dining room, so you'll feel like part of a mass of people, but the large windows make it feel a little outdoorsy too. The service was great, our food came pretty quickly, and our server was very nice.

Kabobi Grill is one of my top if not my favorite mediterranean restaurant in Chicago. It sits within a melting pot of a community. The food is made to order and is always fresh. There is really nothing that compares. Service is always on point to give you desserts, refill on hot tea and water. The dishes are huge and the ambiance of this place remind me of being in Turkey. The food is full of flavor both meats as well as desserts. This has to be a place you must bring your family. Spacious seating arrangement for up to 20-30 people.

Good Persian option with huge prices. The stews tasted good but I think Noon O Kabob across the street is my favorite. This place is still very popular and gets busy.

Dresscode: Smart Casual / Casual Noise Level: Medium (it gets buzzy after 5:30pm) Thursday night Happy Hour was lively, so it took about 10-15 minutes for someone to come around, but service was attentive once we got going. The food is where Ēma really shines. From the Happy Hour menu, the Charred Eggplant Hummus and Crispy Potatoes were generously portioned and great for sharing. On the main menu, the Indian-Mediterranean fusion Bhel Hummus was a party for my taste buds, while the Hot Honey Halloumi and Chicken Kefta rounded out the table nicely. The halloumi is more of a side than a main, but that sweet-and-salty hot honey combo was chef's kiss. For our finisher, the Chocolate Torte knocked us out. Decadent, delicious and chocolate with lots of depth. Overall, Ēma is an excellent spot to order a bunch of dishes for the table and get an elevated meal without feeling stuffy, and delicious without taking itself too seriously. The food was presented beautifully and everything looked fresh and clean, but unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite match the presentation. The lamb and beef meatballs were too dry for my taste. The shrimp was okay, but the tomatoes served with it were overly roasted and had some blackened, charred areas that I didn't particularly enjoy. The salad was also fairly mediocre and didn't stand out. Overall, I really liked the ambiance and appreciated the attentive service, but I think the food could use some improvement in both flavor and preparation. A pleasant place visually, but the meal itself was just average for me.

I called them because I wasn't sure if the online version would be too slow. We were a group of three that came in Saturday night at 7 pm. It was moderately busy. The staff were all welcoming with smiles on their faces and attentiveness. Prices were fair for the amount of food you receive. Food portions are colossal so I would recommend one appetizer and one entree if you are a couple. They give you a complimentary dish. We ordered arayes with meat, meat toshka, mixed grill with baba ghanouj, fillet of basa fried, and mint lemonade. They also offer you fresh Arabic coffee before you leave. This is about a 4.5-5. -arayes with meat 4 - this was not bad. It's like a tamer version of the meat toshka. -meat toshka 5 - I prefer this over the arayes because they add the Syrian cheese. This one was bursting with flavor the moment you took a bite out of it. The minced beef and lamb just melt in the mouth. -mixed grill 5 - this came with 3 big skewers (shish kabab, kufta kabab, and chicken tawook. It goes well with the pita bread. The meats were cooked medium well unless you want something. I think next time I'll ask for the shish kababs to be cooked medium rare or medium for a more juicy taste. The chicken tawook and kufta were both succulent. -fillet of basa fried 5 - the two pieces of basa fillet were astronomical. It also comes with two different kinds of rice.
