My friend was like, "would you like me to get you a replica Liverpool shirt for your bday, or do you want the whole kit? And where would you like your bday dinner to be at?" The opening hours are not as adorable, but that can't be helped because business can be scarce out here, and Mary's Good & Plenty (which is not as good) is right in the middle of "downtown" Akron and gets more local business, even though this place has better food and much better service. My favourite is the sign that tells you all the names that the cafe had before, each one has been crossed off the list like jilted lovers and ex-wifeys/hubbys tattooed on an arm. Very innovativistical. I usually get the country fried steak and it's excellent. I'll try more things on the menu when I get round to it, but let's just say that if you're in the market for a country diner in this part of the world, this one is well worth a trip. read more

Super nice clean diner decor and great folks run this place. We love all the funny signs plastered all over the place. We went during the Halloween season and the decorations made it feel like home. The burgers are very good as are the soups, salads and grilled cheese sandwiches. You know you are near buffalo when Franks Hot Sauce is on every table next to the catsup. They can get busy especially on Sunday mornings but if you can wait there are lots of morning favorites on the menu. As diners go this one is right in there. read more

Breakfast. The most important meal of the day. My Sunday brunch tour. We've been at it about six months now. Trolling on Yelp for new discoveries and tripped over local finds. We've had a few supersizes and honorable mentions. Kaboodles Kafe fits in with the latter. (a surprise with an honorable mention) OK parking out front with a half full lot as we arrived about 9:30AM. Welcome sign in entry with crossed off names and walls scattered with plaques with painted sayings. Like, "Marriage is grand, divorce is twenty grand." Seat yourself as you walk in at any table. Menus passed and took our drink orders as we sat down. The waitress (blond) walked away and disappeared in the kitchen. A few minutes later the other waitress (brunet) asked if we'd like something to drink. Then promptly brought over two drinks. About 5 minutes or so later the blond returned for our menu orders. (don't be in a hurry) I got a jinormous Mexican (chicken) omelet with medium spices that I just loved. Thick sliced toast and a generous side of home-fries. Awesome presentation with yellow eggs, red salsa and orange cheese covering. Chicken over, under and filling the omelet. My associate had a short stack of banana pancakes. I took so long devouring my meal, that they ordered a side of the home-fries too. Others are right, the home-fries are soft with skins, without any added directions. Next time I'll ask for added onions and a crunchy side but I was blown away with the taste and generosity. We never got the tab until at the register. (report-ably fair) More than just breakfast or brunch, I'll need another visit for further review. Tables set for two or four typically, counter bar stools. After our previous visit to Kaboodles, the owner reached out to me and asked that we give them another chance. We stopped in Sunday for a late morning/early lunch at 11am. We sat at the counter as there were no booths available. I let the server know to tell the owner who I was and that we had come back in to give them another chance. I ordered a chicken finger wrap that came with French fries and my husband ordered the chicken cordon blue sandwich also with French fries. The food came out within 15-20 minutes hot and ready to eat. I am not sure what kind of cheddar cheese they use or if they put a special seasoning on their chicken finger wraps but whatever it was very good! The fries were crispy and hot. This is exactly what you want in a small roadside diner! Good, consistent, hearty food at a good price. The coffee is always hot and refilled often. I've eaten here a dozen or so times and have never had a bad meal or service, even when they are unexpectedly packed. Take a few minutes to read the signs on the walls and check-out the decor in the bathrooms. I recommend trying the omelettes, the chef seems to put a little extra pride in these when he makes them. This is worth the stop if you are in the area and looking for a place to rest, talk, and eat for a while. They aren't quick, and they probably shouldn't be. read more

Arrived at Noon on a Friday and the joint was over half full, about 30 diners which was a good sign. Got a clean booth and waited for menus. Turned out only one waitress was working which delayed service. After 10 minutes we placed our orders. The diner was quiet and clean with a homey rural decor. Lots of locals on the Senior side and a few workers and business men. Although service was slow our meals came out quick and hot....thankfully the kitchen was fully staffed! I ordered an open face Meat Loaf on thick bread with REAL mashed potatoes and thick gravy. My wife ordered a Roast Beef Sandwich with a big portion of Waffle Cut Fries....she didn't get the Au Jus that was supposed to be there.. Both meals were very good though not much seasoning was present. Overall a good, basic meal at a fair price, we'll definitely return. A word on the waitress....she handled the Lunch rush like a pro-cashing out, taking and serving orders and answering the phone! Finally a second waitress arrived. The waitress never grumbled and had smile and thanks for everyone. This rescued what could have been a bad experience...hard to put a price on service of that quality. read more

Friendly service with a comfy booth that made you feel like you were eating at grandmas house. We stopped there after a cold fall day at Darien Lake. The hot chocolate and turkey sandwich with gravy and mashed potato warmed us to the core. I would definitely stop there again. Not only were they nice enough to place our names on a list so we didn;t have to wait too long, their food was excellent and their prices are great! We fed 9 people for under $80! Breakfast was good... The only gripe I ordered over medium and I got over easy eggs.... The ham was good and the home fries were also good (they actually had some seasoning a nice change).... Lots of places don't even season their home fries they just throw them on the grill and serve them....my suggestion to the owners to make it really standout try many different coffees until you find one that tastes better than the rest of them and serve only that brand..... Also at the entrance a display case with fresh made pies and pastries would really go along ways! read more

Great Portions, for the money. Busy when they are open, especially on Sunday's after church. Hours are not the most convenient though. This location has a somewhat dangerous parking lot in my opinion, with Main Rd. Be cautious when exiting. If coming from the West, be mindful that the building comes up quickly after the traffic light. read more

I first found Kaboodles via Cheap Eats but I have returned at least once every couple of months. It is over 30 minutes from where I live. The value of taste and quantity keeps me coming back. I love their breakfast, burgers & fish fries. I am disappointed over the years when they were closed for extended time but as of a couple of weeks ago I am happy again. While waiting a short time for my food I love reading all the bits of wisdom on the walls. Service is very fast. I love food that is not greasy. read more
