Unfortunately the taste and quality seems to be slowly going downhill. I used to love ordering from here when i was in town but this time will probably be the last. The veggie calzone was taken off the menu but they made us some anyway, sadly the frozen veggies they used were soaking wet and make the entire bottom crust mushy and completely unappealing. Ordered two large pizzas for the first time today from this place. One was a cheese pizza and the other a vegetarian pizza. Both were made without any pizza sauce ! Called them and were told that the vegetarian pizza doesn't have any red sauce but white sauce instead and it has olive oil too..... in that case it should be listed as a white pizza on their menu!! The large cheese pizza had barely any visible red sauce too and nothing that can be tasted. We were told that they have a chef who tends to make these with very little sauce and that the next time we order, we should ask for extra sauce as their is no up-charge for that. Wouldn't it be better for the establishment to tell their chef to use the proper amount of pizza sauce instead? Order here very almost weekly with rarely any issues. Ordered a tray with 50 wings. Pizza was good, but the wings.. 20 were edible. They rest had what clearly were feathers sticking out of them. I don't usually write pizza reviews, but I actually felt compelled here. Ordered with my sisters after a super long day and was wowed! The chicken finger pizza was absolutely delicious, as was the pepperoni. Sauce on the sweeter side. Crust is kinda thin, but still has substance. Pepperoni is cup char. The biggest thing for me was how delicious the reheated leftovers were-- sometimes pizza doesn't reheat well, but this one does! Definitely will request when I'm out at my sisters again. read more

I came to Pizza Bella maybe 5 times in the last 3-4 years. Since moving to Clarence, I come to Akron to get various things including gas, diner food, pizza, just because it's a nice rural drive and it's less busy out here in this little village. Of the places in Akron, Yogi's has 5-star food (but 2 star service), whereas Pizzabella and Tony's have 4-star food (but 3-star service or even 2 some days). I was last here about 4 months ago when I wanted some slices, although Pizzabella 90% of the time doesn't have them. Pizza Bella has pretty decent pizza. They usually don't have slices available, which is annoying. But even when they do, they are not crazy crazy good, so it's not somewhere that I go to very often, unless nearby Yogi's doesn't have any slices and I fancy one and don't want to drive too far from Akron. read more

An amazing find in Downtown Akron. The dining room in the back of this Pizzeria is bright and cheerful. There is a patio as well for dinning Al Fresco. I was with a party of 5 and all five of us were satisfied with our choices. A member of our party wanted just a couple of slices. He was told that slices were not available but personal pizzas were.He reported that it was excellent. Two of our party opted for calzones. Generous portions presented in a perfect fashion and very flavorful. One of us got a sub it was great. It was Sunday, my last name ends in a vowel so I got the gnocchi. Very nice. The waiter was very nice about breaking up the checks. Two checks for two sets of Father and Sons. A separate check for me. I got a generous soft drink,dinner salad and entree for under $16. Earlier this evening we ordered 4 subs from Pizzabella & Pasta in Akron, NY. Unfortunately, we did not realize this until we arrived at a restaurant with the same name in Devens, Massachusetts. The difference being a bit over 400 miles. So we ordered from the local restaurant and enjoyed the subs as we usually do. My wife placed a call to Pizzabella in Akron, NY and asked to speak to the manager. The polite young lady who answered the phone said, "Sure, one moment please" and in fact in one moment, Sal said hello. My said, "Hello, we ordered some subs a little while ago but we made a mistake, we live in Massachusetts." Sal said, "You ordered subs from Massachusetts?" Clearly this was not a common occurrence. She said, "yes" and explained that we have a favorite restaurant by the same name less than 2 miles from our house, but mistakenly ordered the subs from the on in Akron, NY which is over 400 miles from our house. Sal did not miss a beat and said, "Well I am going to have to charge you $500 for delivery!" After enjoying a good laugh, my wife said that she would like to pay for the subs that we mistakenly ordered since it was our error and we know times are hard for small businesses right now. Sal replied, "No I can't let you do that, that is against my principles. It was an honest mistake and I can't take your money and give you no food." My wife, wanting to make the situation right pressed Sal gently to get him to accept the payment, but he continued to refuse. Instead he suggested, "Do something that puts a smile on peoples faces." So this is what we did. I hope this makes you smile and I hope that everyone who lives near Akron, NY takes the time to visit and support Sal and the very nice people at Pizzabella & Pasta. Pleasantly, surprised with the generous amount of pasta that was supplied for a fall Akron Lunch. The portions that I received was equal to about 4 regular dishes in any other restaurant for the same amount of money. Worst pizza I've ever had at a place with "pizza" in the name. I have high standards for pizza since New Jersey has a lot of GREAT pizza but I also like pizza so much that even decent pizza makes me happy. This was neither good nor decent. We ordered a marinara and a plain cheese pizza. First the marinara: this had the sweetest sauce I have ever tasted in my life. No savory element or spices, just sweetness. And super stingy with the mozzarella- I'd say about 15%-20% of the pie had cheese on it so basically this was a tomato pie. I decided to switch to the cheese pizza hoping that was better but, dear god. I took one bite and put it down. This has the opposite problem and was smothered in cheese but it was thick, greasy cheap cheese. This was not even decent pizza. This was just BAD. The crust was ok but both pizzas had horrible sauce:cheese ratio and were almost inedible. Two of the others at the table are from the area and agreed this was terrible, so it is not a regional pizza preference issue. I almost gave two stars because of the friendly service but, like the pizza, I couldn't stomach it. read more
