The only thing I don't like is they recently started including the salad inside the container with the hot food and put the chicken peas in another container. We were visiting the area and were excited to see a Kabob shop in the area. The inside area is small with a handful of tables. Menu is easy to read with pictures. We ordered the chicken thigh kabob and the combo kabob. We were surprised with the portions as each entree plate came with rice, salad, chickpeas, and bread with tzatziki sauce and a herbs sauce. Food was fresh and bread was warm and soft, pairing very well with the sauces provided. Wait times took longer than expected so recommend ordering ahead or dining in while you have time. This appears to be a neighborhood favorite for afghan cuisine/kabobs. And rightfully so, it's got the flavor at a good price with large portions and friendly staff. What took me so long to try this food in the first place!? My gf and her parents took me here for dinner and we loved everything we ordered. We got two combo platter #12s and the lamb platter #7. Enough to feed 5-6 people, it involves meats, brown rice, cucumber salad, side of chickpeas, and the Afghan naan/bread. All the items had tremendous flavor and complimented each other together. Their sauce makes eating everything much better with a coolness to handle the heat from the spices. The combo platter contains beef, chicken, and lamb so if you don't know what proteins you want, order that and thank yourself later when you're full from your food coma. No doubt that I'll be exploring more afghan cuisine after eating here as my food world has expanded! I hope they are as good as this place as this kabob place does it right! read more

Excellent new kabob shop across from Super Target. We tried the lamb and chicken kabob platters. The lamb was perfectly grilled, tender and tasty. The brown rice full of spices. The chickpeas were piping hot and had lots of flavor. The chicken was juicy and disappeared quickly. The shop has a tandoor oven, so the naan is fresh, soft and steaming hot. I saw this restaurant on social media and it was rated pretty nicely, so (being of Middle-Eastern decent and having such a palate for curries and such) I decided to give it a try. It's truly a kabob joint, so they don't have much in the way of curries and such, but they had a very nice selection of kabobs. They offer Shami, Seekh (style), chicken breast and thighs too (thighs take so much better to seasonings, yogurt marinades and being a part of true Middle-Eastern cuisine than breasts!), which was nice because I rarely see thighs at these types of places. I tried a skewer style ground beef (Seekh) and a shami, which was made with lamb. They were both so very lightly seasoned, I didn't taste anything more than the meat, which was depressing, as I enjoy the pungent aroma of the spices and the bold flavors that they offer when eating these types of kabobs. They were cooked nicely, without being over-cooked, but there was no flavor of the flame, so they must have been cooked over a gas flame, which is also unfortunate, as they should be cooked inside the Tandoor (clay oven) or over mesquite. Their rice was amazing! Their side dish of Channa (chick peas) was decent, again, not spicy at all. Their side salad was nice, with a basic ranch dressing on it, but at least the veggies in the salad we all fresh and not wilted nor discolored. They did have an interesting sauce I had never seen before which was a vinegar-based spiced sauce with herbs and chili flakes and it was very nice, as it added real flavor to everything I was eating. Their yogurt chutney was just "ok." They Afghan bread was decent, but was slightly too dense and hard. Overall, this was a decent visit, but the flavors weren't quite what I was hoping for. As I was leaving the owner came in, he was very professional and spoke to customers in a nice manner and greeted everyone, very friendly and pleasent. We have eaten here many times. I will say, it is not quite as good as their sister location in Haymarket, but not enough to dock them a star. Besides, they're a lot closer to my home. My Pakistani friend says they're just ok, but for me it's muy bueno. Humongous kabob Sami's on naan. Delicious. Two will serve 4 mature adults very easily.
