Went in today with a client of mine who has Alzheimer's Dementia... her watch band sprung and wasn't holding to her wrist anymore so we needed to get her a new band. Wasn't sure what to expect when we went there I had read reviews by other people and said let's give it a shot. When we went in we were greeted by 2 smiling faces. 2 ladies asked how they could help and after a while of interacting with my client they caught on that she had a memory loss. I had gotten a couple quotes elsewhere and ended up taking it to Kagy due to my initial experiences. DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH ANYTHING OF VALUE! Having had Kagy's replace a few watch batteries for me, when my Tag Heuer watch bezel was just spinning, I didn't hesitate to take it there. They "repaired" it the same day, only for it to fall off the following day. this should have been there one and only chance. But I am quite trustful, after all mistakes happen. I returned it the following day (Friday) and was told that Steve would look at it on Monday. I heard nothing, so called Tuesday, Steve told me he would have it done either that day or the next. Not surprisingly, I heard nothing! I then went to there store on Friday (1 week since dropping it off). Steve said he was still working on it, I told him that I would be fine with that, if it had been communicated to me. Then another employee prods in and says that I should have given them enough time, I explained that I was giving them more time than they told me it would take. I realized then that taking care of the customer is not a priority to them. but belittling and talking down to them is! I left with my watch, which i found had the bezel jammed, as well as dents and scratches that were not there before dropping it off. I have since found a very honest trustworthy true jewelry repair store not 3 miles south. having assessed the bezel and not wanting to do any further damage, advised me to send it back to the manufacturer, which I have done. I have always felt that there are two basic components to Customer Service:- Knowing your limitations Communication Kagy's have managed to totally fail in both of these areas. read more

I had a diamond tennis bracelet clasp replaced by Kagy's 6 weeks ago. The bracelet fell off the day after I picked it up because the new clasp did not function properly, thankfully I did not lose the bracelet. The person working at Kagy's used a tool to pry the clasp open a bit and told me there was nothing wrong and nothing else he could do to secure the clasp. I felt he was a bit condescending. Yesterday the tennis bracelet fell off of my wrist while I was out shopping because of the clasp malfunction. read more

This is a privately owned store by a couple who have lived in Sarasota for over 30 years. I have known them personally for over 10 yrs. This is not a franchise, but that's what I like about them. Yes, their store does not have marble covered walls and granite countertops, but so far my experience has been that this is what keeps them the lowest priced jewelry store in the county. My anniversary present from my husband was a bracelet. I found an Estate piece I loved at Kagy's Jewelers 4446 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota. I went in 3 times last week before making my final decision on Saturday. I tried it on 3 times, and worked with the same salesperson. When I arrived Saturday to purchase it, I was told that it had been "Priced incorrectly" for the past several weeks, but they now knew they had made a "mistake" and the price was DOUBLE what I had been quoted, It's a really nice bracelet, emeralds and white gold, but I sure can't afford double the price. While legally they can do this, I think ETHICALLY, they are a horrible company Where is their integrity? I would never do that to one of my clients. So, if anyone wants to purchase jewelry, I would STRONGLY suggest they not go to that store. Besides being very disappointed, what they did was morally wrong, in my opinion. Any thoughts?
