She served from one end of the table and expected my 80 year old father to serve it down the table after waiting 2.5 hours without water, without an update on our food status, and so on. Expect long waits and attitude for everything EXCEPT when the bill comes...then it's all peaches and cream and lightening fast. The service is very wishy washy, nice servers but there is no structure and organization within Kai. We were seated to the outdoor table, 2 mins later a different server came up to us and told us we needed to get up because there was another party waiting for this table. No communication between the staff. We ordered our food and 30 mins later and nothing. Had to ask multiple times to see when our food was coming out. Only reason this restaurant isnt getting 0 stars is because the octopus with tostones appetizer was really delicious. Im still waiting for my meal to come out. read more

Then a waitress told us we could sit anywhere, more than 20 mins went by no one came to our table. While two other tables came in after us and got menus and drinks. Amazing views of the beach, great food, and attentive customer service. We arrived in a large passenger van, and one of the employees came out to help us find a space (limited parking). The setting couldn't be more picturesque with the restaurant perched above the beach, and overlooking an area of beach where surfers congregate. The food was really good, I got a Classic Burger, and my party got Lobster-Pork Chops-Mahi Mahi, and they all spoke highly of the food as well. It was a great experience all around. read more

We were on the beach and decided to have an early dinner. We waited at the table for 20 minutes, no one Ever came to greet us or clean the table so we left. They don't acknowledge you. There are plenty of amazing restaurants nearby that we went to instead during the rest of our trip. read more

Unfortunately after Hurricane Maria, earthquakes, pandemia and now Fiona, everything is going down in PR. Of course, affecting every service on the Island. Apparently no one complains about customer service or quality. This is another restaurant that before Hurricane Maria was functioning excellent. Now they moved to the government kiosk in Jobos Beach and it's not as good as it used to be. Also that Kiosk complex has a poor sewer system always smelling like poop. Kai Beach Bar will always be one of my favorite spots in all of Puerto Rico. After working for almost a year on and off in Isabela, this was the place to go for after work beers, snacks, and eventually dinners. The food is great, portions are heavy, but the place always has great music playing, great atmosphere/energy, just a really cool place. On top of all that, they stay open fairly late, the views are incredible, and their fresh seafood and mofongo are always a good choice. read more

Really enjoyed Kai on our visit. Dinner for 6 and we all had the mufungo. Mufungo was all good. We had mahi, shrimo, and chicken with various sauces. It's very filling, so be wary. The view is a premium here. With open water and nice drinks... it's a nice spot to enjoy the day. Draw back was on the table/ cleaning. Bus boy wiped it with an old rag that smelled. read more

Kai is a good place to stop and eat and watch the ocean it's one of my favorite places to be. The beach also known as Jobos is there which you could see people surfing. Lots of people come here to compete at this beach, just be sure to know how to swim and watch out for the undercurrents. I don't believe they have a life guard watching as well. I used to come here when I lived on the island but it used to be called happy bellies it was a nightclub actually it had some food but not as it does now and of course you can still go there to hang with friends. Now back to the food. I ate the Churrasco with white rice and red beans sooo yummy. I critic a lot when it comes to beans bcs well I grew up eating them but these were perfect. My sister had shrimp mofongo (smashed plantains). My niece had the chicken quesadilla with chips witch tasted amazing and had a good serving of chicken too. My nephew had chicken and mofongo and the chicken was moist and seasoned good. The other people there had the same as I did only they changed it to fries. My tip drink the local beer that's made from the island. Remember it's a open area so flies will be around but not excessively. Appetizer with the multiple samples and beach view were great! Wings were overcooked and just bad. Paid $45 for stuffed mahi mahi and it was overcooked and bland, chuleta kan kans were both overcooked, tomatoes were freezer quality reheated. Not anywhere close to high quality to match the price. This place serves under seasoned food and horrible service and weak drinks . My group was able to get a table fast but service took about 30 minutes to receive a drink order. Again the drinks were so weak Weiss to ask if the drinks had alcohol inside. They served a drink without rum twice and charged for one with rum and one without, after we got charged twice. The food came out over an hour , and was missing most of the food. I would not recommend anyone to come here. Go eat real food! read more

I stopped by Kai after a long day at the beach. The setting is beautiful and, thankfully, there was parking available across the street. It took a while for Daniela P and I to be served because there was a big birthday group at the restaurant. We ordered the queso frito with guava sauce. It was pretty good, yet a little dry. We had the nachos with chicken and churrasco which really hit the spot. We also had the coconut margaritas. They honestly weren't my favorite. They just tasted like straight artificial coconut syrup. So sad when puertorriquen restaurants do this. Mofongo was made with sweet plantains, that is not mofongo. Churrascos were hard with no flavor. We ordered 3 dishes. Could not eat them. Paid $25 for a dish I could not eat. Ask for a bottle of Perrier sparkling water and they brought a regular temperature bottle with ice. Obviously, if you want sparkling water you do not want to put it in ice because it will lose its effervescent. You want a very cold bottle. Beer wasn't cold enough either. This place has left us a bad experience on our last day of vacation. The food took almost two hours to arrive and it was because we insisted we would leave if the food was not ready. Our appetizers were small and took a long time as well to arrive. The food was not cooked well, the burgers we ordered were ordered well done and they were raw. The chicken was cold and hard, as it is seen in the picture, it looks unappetizing. The staff was very rude, they didn't even bring water to the table until I went to the bar and asked for some. IF YOU ARE NOT A TOURIST YOU WILL NOT BE TREATED WELL, cuidado boricua. This spot is fantastic! The food was so delicious. We had red snapper and the fish sandwich both were so fresh. The rice & beans were on point! Curly fries YUMMM it took awhile for our food but it was very busy during lunch. We enjoyed the view of the beach directly below us and enjoyed watching surfers. This place for me is the best in Isabela. The view and the food are simply just amazing and breath taking. A must go location is you like to drink Corona's. This place is truly a Corona drinkers paradise. Live music was playing on Saturday night i was there and the band was amazing and really had the crowd going. Great place! We came the night that it rained so hard that all you could hear from rain on the roof. The service was great, food was excellent and we plan to go back again just to see the ocean and jobos beach since it rained the night we went. Excellent place for lunch, balcony with gorgeous view to the beach. Tasty seafood, wide variety of appetizers. I had the mofongo with mahi mahi in butter. Also tried the mahi mahi filet with fried platain. The passion fruit daikiri was excellent. Definitely I will return some day read more
