Such a cute little cafe! They have a variety of food options included vegan free pastries. Super quick to take my order and very kind. Even catered to my allergy!! Absolutely love it here (:

food & coffee are still delicious, but the standards changing from vegans being prioritized to vegans included (and charged quite a bit extra) is disappointing. the donut are unique and fun, and the flavor & structure are impressive but were underdone and a bit claggy. Garlic butter on the Sammy was a yummy surprise

Came in here on a rainy Sunday around 10am. The line was medium long, but I only waited about 5 minutes to order. I asked for a dirty chai and I ordered one of the vegan donuts they had featured for the weekend. It was a tough choice between the 3 flavors, but I settled on "fall spice" and the only mistake I made there was by just ordering one. That donut was AMAZING. $4 for a vegan donut, but I promise you, it's just the right combo of pillowy and chewy. The glaze was PERFECT. The dirty chai was just as amazing. The right mix of coffee flavor and spicy chai. I loved it. They had a few seats inside, and maybe 4-6 small tables outside. The vegan menu looked pretty decently sized. They had the star wars/darth vader theme going on inside. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

Loved this little coffee shop in Polish Hill. I was in the neighborhood and needed to set up for a little bit to work. I stopped in mostly because I saw they have house made donuts. I loved the cake of the donut. While dense to the touch it was soft and doughy to eat. Icing was a bit too artificial tasting for my liking but it was a great donut overall. The cake portion of the donut was my favorite that I've had across town. Coffee was hot. Atmosphere was buzzing! Worth a stop.

Kaibur is located in the middle of Polish Hill - just a couple minutes drive from the Strip District. With so many vegan restaurants closing in Pittsburgh recently, I was really excited to get breakfast here when I found out about their vegan options! I ordered the ham & egg sammy which comes with vegan ham and the option of either dairy or vegan cheese/eggs. I got the all vegan version (tofu scramble instead of egg) on wheat bread. Although it's been over 5 years since I've had red meat, I really haven't had vegan ham before and it was quite tasty! The sandwich itself was great as well, though a little messy since I got it for takeout - I'd recommend eating at the shop or eating soon after purchasing!

So, in between visits I needed some breakfast to help me get through the rest of my day and my usual haunt was closed for the Veggie Fest.... In comes Kaibur Cafe, and I was pleased. They have a really nice group of people working and the breakfast 'Sammy' I ordered was delicous. I also ordered a cappuccino which was ok. A little small for the price. I also ordered three vegan donuts ($15!), and a vegan Banana Nut Muffin. They have outdoor seating and there was steady traffic. There is onscreen parking, but it was scarce. All inall, I would come again and I can't wait to order their Seitan steak. Check them out.

The food was amazing! I was so excited to find somewhere with vegan options for breakfast and this place did not disappoint! Great sandwiches and great coffee (I believe the gentleman also said the almond and oat milks were made right in house!) Very nice service. Will be back!

I really liked this place. And the outdoor seating was lovely. I got the vegan egg sandwich and the fake eggs weren't half bad at all! The whole sandwich came together wonderfully. My friend got some sort of bowl and the avocado was really good. The eggs were also cooked to perfection. The only draw back was that my sandwich was a bit dry and unindulgent , just could have used a little warmth.

Happening hipster/queer coffeeshop with an impressive food menu and both inside and outside seating. There's even a water bowl for the doggoes. I had a roasted carrot toast with an egg on top and a lovely jasmine tea and thought that the breakfast menu would serve well for brunch or lunch as well. Alas, the internet went down, so I took my laptop elsewhere to finish working.

When it comes to coffee it has an appealing allure that makes me come back for more.  Whether it's the start my day, or just noon time pleasure. Kaibur coffee offer a wonder variety of your heart's desire weather it be a latte, or a special blend of your own. I ordered my favorite noon time pleasure of an iced Irish Cream. I'd have to say this was amazing & another best so far when it comes to local area competitors serving up some of the best collectible cups of Brew. the way this was mixed had that great symphony of flavor I've come to expect.   Not only is their emphasis on coffee they offer a simple selection of menu items that specializes in offering vegan items. I'm not a vegan myself but these menu by the looks of these pictures on Yelp look like something I'm willing to try. But don't let what I said about a vegan selection put you off as they also offer non vegan items for those who love a sandwiches like their Rubens. Their barista is very friendly helpful greeting each customer that comes in & ready to take their order or as a first timer give the best of recommendations in coffee or additions to your coffee & I did mine with a vegan creamer. Pleasurable at best & this will be getting 5* for the overall experience & neighborhood feel Kaibur is to the Polish hill community. I stopped by here this past Sunday morning with my wife for our morning coffee. We found Kaibur Coffee via Yelp and otherwise would have never known this place existed in Polish Hill. The space itself is rather tiny and evokes memories of what you would expect from a very old school neighborhood diner. It was cozy with 3 people working and there was a small lunch counter which wasn't being used since the line was there and then 3 4-tops. They also had some outdoor seating but with the temperature in the teens, it wasn't being used. Lastly, they require a mask for you to enter which with the small space makes sense. For our coffees on this morning both my wife and I decided to go with the honey cinnamon latte. Then I also was eyeing up one of their specials, a spicy chickpea burrito, but since I had just eaten decided to go with one of their blueberry vegan donuts as well. For such a small neighborhood space they actually have quite a bit of vegetarian and vegan stuff which is nice. The wait for our coffees was around 10 minutes and after receiving them we headed back to our car. Once in the car, I immediately tried the doughnut. It was denser than I expected, but still flavorful, especially the blueberry which I could still taste later in the day. After the coffee had cooled down a bit, I was able to try it and I really enjoyed it. The coffee and the milk here were the stars with the honey adding a bit of sweetness while the cinnamon added a bit of flavor as well. Both my wife and I ended up enjoying it. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and i enjoyed the coffee and ambiance here and next time I won't eat before I come so that I can try that spicy chickpea burrito.

Vegan spinach, egg and cheese sandwich

My lavender oatmilk latte was very nicely flavored & not too sweet. We chose Kaibur Coffee because it seems to be one of the few places in the city where you can get breakfast food that is both vegan and that has gluten free options. However, please take a look at the picture of my sandwich. It is, in fact, half of a sandwich. I had not started eating it yet. Yes, this half of a sandwich was $9 which I find offensive. Thanks.

Gluten free bread, egg, vegan cheese, vegan ham!

The food was excellent. Also, they have dog friendly outdoor seating under an awning that provides reasonable rain protection.

After walking around the neighborhood, this one had seating, so we went inside. First, I'll say the coffee we tried was pretty good - a cappuccino and a brown sugar cinnamon latte. The barista asked "for here or to go" and the drinks still came in a paper cup anyway despite us saying "for here". I really enjoy having a coffee in an actual glass/mug when I say "for here". The ambiance was a bit confusing... not really sure what they were going for in the space, things were a bit choppy and thrown together. Kinda felt like you were in someone's garage with cluttered items on rickety shelves behind the counter. Our barista was very nice, but an awkward moment occurred when they were ringing us up - barista asked for a tip but then told us not to put the tip on the credit card because the owner steals from them. We felt this was a little uncomfortable and gave some unwelcoming energy. We also tried a Nutella croissant, which was very good! I think this shop has a lot of potential with some changes to service and decor.

The first time I ordered an espresso beverage with the light roast option and what I received did not taste anything close to light. While I…read morethink Espresso a Mano has the better espresso drinks,* Constellation has fantastic pour over: You won't find a better selection of high-end coffee beans anywhere else in Pittsburgh, and no other cafe in the city comes close. The bean offerings are always excellent, varied, and carefully curated. Selecting among them may feel intimidating, but the baristas are very knowledgeable and helpful. If you don't have much or any experience with pour over coffee, you should make sure to ask them for suggestions, and they will guide you towards a good selection. If you are coffee snob with a rotating selection of extra-light beans on your kitchen counter... well you should still chat with the baristas and they can tell you all about what they offer, what tasting notes to expect, what they are excited about, and so on. I am in the latter category, and I always enjoy chatting with the baristas here and learning about their coffee. I also appreciate that, in the summer, you can choose to have a Japanese-style iced pour over (the one that's brewed hot directly onto ice). You don't find that often in cafes, and certainly nowhere else in Pittsburgh. Besides coffee, the ambiance is great. There is not much traffic, so it's a pretty calm place to sit down and work or read a book. I love sitting at the large table in the back room for a few hours and working from there, while enjoying a cup or two of different pour overs. Overall, we are lucky to have Constellation . While Pittsburgh can't compare with the "third-wave" coffee scene in cities like Seattle or Vancouver, Constellation can certainly compete with the best cafes in such cities. *The espresso here is also great, don't get me wrong, especially when they offer a light roast. But I just like the one at Espresso a Mano better. I do wish Constellation offered an espresso flight; given the variety of beans they offer, that would be a unique coffee-drinking experience.

The reason is simple: It's the best espresso in Pittsburgh. Both the plain espresso and the milky drinks (at least the macchiato and cortado, I don't generally enjoy cappuccino or latte) are executed perfectly and taste great. I like the espresso so much, the beans I use for my own espresso at home are always from here. I also enjoy the ambiance at this cafe. In the summer, I love to sit at the long bench by the entrance and watch the traffic outside while enjoying the sun. And in the winter, the interior feels very cozy and is a great place to hang out and chat with a friend. They also display art from (I believe) local artists, and you can buy pieces you like. I have not tried any of the baked goods or non-espresso drinks, so I can't comment on those first hand--though my partner did try the hot chocolate and was raving about it.
