Hello, I'm back again to this coffee shop as it's so nice that it's right near my mechanic. Since his shop has no where to sit and I am stuck for some time, I am so glad this coffee shop exists. If you're vegan, go here! They have vegan scones + gluten free so if you're both, you're in luck! Also they do have oat milk and normal milk. I have never parked here but it's residential so just be prepared. The shop has seating inside (3 tables + counter seats) and has seating outside (5 small tables). Service is always great though I am awkward but it's been a hot while since I have been back at this place. I should come here outside my car shop time but I forget about this place. I love that this restaurant has so many vegan sandwich options! It's located in an unassuming area but it's definitely worth the trip over! The Veggie BLT was delicious and I liked how soft the bread was. The cafe itself was really cute and seems like a cozy place to enjoy coffee on a cold day. read more

I had the most amazing berry chai tea over ice!!! The barista was on top of his game today by having my second tea ready before I left (yes, the chai was THAT good!!!). I also tried their breakfast sandwich on toasted chabbatta (sic) with egg, cheese, onion and tomato. Outstanding!!! I went back later in the day for coffee and lemon/ginger tea with honey. Personally, I prefer a chai to a coffee, but I really wasn't ready for the best chai of my life. I can't express that statement enough. Literally ....OF. MY. LIFE. I made sure to mention that to the owner (Adam) who crafted that heavenly concoction. Staff was really awesome as well. They seem to get along well and really enjoy their jobs, which translates to the vibe of the cafe itself. It's very chill and welcoming. Lots of cute pups come and go and there's even a water dish out front for them. As far as food, I had some donut balls and they were also very impressive. I didn't get a chance to have a sandwich, but I did notice people taking pictures of them before eating because they were so aesthetically pleasing. They must've been delicious as well because I heard multiple people comment to the staff how great their food was on their way out. 10/10 would recommend... Came in here on a rainy Sunday around 10am. The line was medium long, but I only waited about 5 minutes to order. I asked for a dirty chai and I ordered one of the vegan donuts they had featured for the weekend. It was a tough choice between the 3 flavors, but I settled on "fall spice" and the only mistake I made there was by just ordering one. That donut was AMAZING. $4 for a vegan donut, but I promise you, it's just the right combo of pillowy and chewy. The glaze was PERFECT. The dirty chai was just as amazing. The right mix of coffee flavor and spicy chai. I loved it. They had a few seats inside, and maybe 4-6 small tables outside. The vegan menu looked pretty decently sized. Loved this little coffee shop in Polish Hill. I was in the neighborhood and needed to set up for a little bit to work. I stopped in mostly because I saw they have house made donuts. I loved the cake of the donut. While dense to the touch it was soft and doughy to eat. Icing was a bit too artificial tasting for my liking but it was a great donut overall. Kaibur is located in the middle of Polish Hill - just a couple minutes drive from the Strip District. With so many vegan restaurants closing in Pittsburgh recently, I was really excited to get breakfast here when I found out about their vegan options! I ordered the ham & egg sammy which comes with vegan ham and the option of either dairy or vegan cheese/eggs. I got the all vegan version (tofu scramble instead of egg) on wheat bread. Although it's been over 5 years since I've had red meat, I really haven't had vegan ham before and it was quite tasty! So, in between visits I needed some breakfast to help me get through the rest of my day and my usual haunt was closed for the Veggie Fest.... In comes Kaibur Cafe, and I was pleased. They have a really nice group of people working and the breakfast 'Sammy' I ordered was delicous. I also ordered a cappuccino which was ok. A little small for the price. I also ordered three vegan donuts ($15!), and a vegan Banana Nut Muffin. They have outdoor seating and there was steady traffic. There is onscreen parking, but it was scarce. Kaibur coffee offer a wonder variety of your heart's desire weather it be a latte, or a special blend of your own. I ordered my favorite noon time pleasure of an iced Irish Cream. I'd have to say this was amazing & another best so far when it comes to local area competitors serving up some of the best collectible cups of Brew. the way this was mixed had that great symphony of flavor I've come to expect.   Not only is their emphasis on coffee they offer a simple selection of menu items that specializes in offering vegan items. I'm not a vegan myself but these menu by the looks of these pictures on Yelp look like something I'm willing to try. But don't let what I said about a vegan selection put you off as they also offer non vegan items for those who love a sandwiches like their Rubens. Their barista is very friendly helpful greeting each customer that comes in & ready to take their order or as a first timer give the best of recommendations in coffee or additions to your coffee & I did mine with a vegan creamer. I really liked this place. And the outdoor seating was lovely. I got the vegan egg sandwich and the fake eggs weren't half bad at all! The whole sandwich came together wonderfully. My friend got some sort of bowl and the avocado was really good. The eggs were also cooked to perfection. I stopped by here this past Sunday morning with my wife for our morning coffee. We found Kaibur Coffee via Yelp and otherwise would have never known this place existed in Polish Hill. The space itself is rather tiny and evokes memories of what you would expect from a very old school neighborhood diner. It was cozy with 3 people working and there was a small lunch counter which wasn't being used since the line was there and then 3 4-tops. They also had some outdoor seating but with the temperature in the teens, it wasn't being used. Lastly, they require a mask for you to enter which with the small space makes sense. For our coffees on this morning both my wife and I decided to go with the honey cinnamon latte. Then I also was eyeing up one of their specials, a spicy chickpea burrito, but since I had just eaten decided to go with one of their blueberry vegan donuts as well. For such a small neighborhood space they actually have quite a bit of vegetarian and vegan stuff which is nice. The wait for our coffees was around 10 minutes and after receiving them we headed back to our car. Once in the car, I immediately tried the doughnut. It was denser than I expected, but still flavorful, especially the blueberry which I could still taste later in the day. After the coffee had cooled down a bit, I was able to try it and I really enjoyed it. The coffee and the milk here were the stars with the honey adding a bit of sweetness while the cinnamon added a bit of flavor as well. Both my wife and I ended up enjoying it. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and i enjoyed the coffee and ambiance here and next time I won't eat before I come so that I can try that spicy chickpea burrito. read more

My lavender oatmilk latte was very nicely flavored & not too sweet. We chose Kaibur Coffee because it seems to be one of the few places in the city where you can get breakfast food that is both vegan and that has gluten free options. I became vegan a few days ago, and so I have only recently come to realize that the vegan food scene in Pittsburgh is still very young. There aren't too many options. Not too many accommodations. Kaibur Coffee is an exception to this. Not only does Kaibur offer vegan options, it has Gluten-Free foods as well. And the best part? The food is actually so frickin' good. [Food & Drink] I ordered the banh mi and a medium hot black coffee. The coffee is definitely more on the citrus-y side --at least when I tried it -- but it definitely gives you that great morning kick of caffeine. I actually appreciated that my mug had a slight chip in -- gives it character and matches the whole raw, chill vibe of the place. The banh mi was DELICIOUS. The portion, generous. The flavor, ever so present. Would definitely get it again. Might try the vegan egg breakfast sandwich to see what all the rave is about [Atmosphere] Yes yes yes. I love the whole relaxed, raw vibes of the place. There's a cool bar/diner seating area and it invites friendly conversation -- love that. There's plenty of seating, at the front and back of the place. I feel like my chill buddy Dave invited me over to his new bachelor apartment. The brick walls contrasted with the ornate white ceiling. Wooden floors. Star Wars art and decor everywhere. Furniture that doesn't match but somehow works. Ya feel? The music is nice too -- folky yet lax. [Service] A+++ Everyone is super nice, friendly and chill. Smiles don't seem forced. Love the way they treat their customers. They seem likes friends hosting a hangout rather than workers at a cafe. One employee in particular caught my attention because he was working especially hard. Didn't catch his name but mad respect for that guy. Maybe he owns the place? Or manages? But he's on top of everything. [Overall] Would definitely come again. They have WiFi and outlets. Good food and people. Plus, a clean bathroom. What else more could you want? read more

I ended up coming to Kaibur Coffee on Saturday morning to meet a friend who was also in Pittsburgh for the weekend. He recommended this place because he's vegan and also because he likes things that taste good. This small little shop located on a corner has a decent amount of street parking and a good amount of items to choose from as well (both vegan and non-vegan). For some reason I decided to order myself some curry sweet potato soup (I'm pretty sure that's what it was) and it was incredible, possibly my favourite curry sweet potato soup ever? JUST MAYBE. On top of that I was forced (Okay, we my friend said I had to try one) to eat one of the vegan donuts they have and I have to say, It was a 5 star donut in it's own sense. The donut was very doughy and covered in what I think was strawberry frosting and definitely left a lasting impression on my donut loving brain. Overall, Kaibur Coffee was a fantastic choice for breakfast and definitely the best thing I had while visiting Pittsburgh that day. I hadn't heard of this place before and I actually found it through Yelp by searching for vegan options. I thought I had been to or at least heard of all of the vegan options in Pittsburgh so I was surprised that I hadn't heard of this one. I came here one Saturday morning with my parents and I had a great experience. Due to COVID, we ordered online and then picked the food up there and ate outside at their outdoor tables. I tried the vegan breakfast sandwich and the vegan Reuben and really enjoyed both of them. I always appreciate when restaurants have vegan options for me and non vegan options for my family/friends. This place just opened 3/5 I came across them via wolftree donuts vegan donuts I have bought at a nearby tea shop This is a small place with about 9 tables And some counter space Looks much cleaner and hipper then the place that used to be here Menu has some yum sounding sammies With nice vegan and vegetarian choices With such offerings as eggs, Lox and cream cheese ,bagels a banh mi and punk toast (avocado) I opted for the TLT tempeh lettuce & tomato with vegan mayonnaise Loved it thin toasted white bread made this extra yum Lattes And coffees And my choice was chai tea served up nice n hot in a big cup. There is honey cardamom on the menu that's going to be my next try beverage. This spot is very cool. Love the vibe and the counter spots are awesome. There are a few extra tables in the back room, so don't let it deceive you. Service is solid. Now, let's talk food. Hubs ordered a black tea and banh mi and I got the special, red bean French toast and eggs. The tea is wonderful, a good balance of flavors and very smooth. Hubs said I tricked him into going to a vegan place, but he ate every last bite of the banh mi. As for the red bean French toast, the flavor of the red bean was awesome with a nice level of sweetness that I didn't find syrup necessary. I was debating on getting a cinnamon roll based on other reviews and was about to grab one as we were heading out, but alas they ran out! Blast! Next time. There will be a next time!! The food is good and I'm not sure if they have the space figured out quite yet. The advantage of sitting at the counter was the ability to see the cooking. They did a lot of prep in advance to expedite the process, but there is two hot plate like burners and another small spot to cook. There was a constant flow while we were there and the small equipment couldn't keep up. The cook was doing great with the resources and made sure the food was quality. So, keep in kind the food is great, but it can be slow. Will report back on the cinnamon roll and, hopefully, the doughnuts! read more

The black coffee was alright and the latte was lacking. The ratio of milk to espresso was sad. Maybe order a doubly shot instead. Not bad, but nothing to write home about for sure. So happy I was finally able to stop by! It's a bit out of my way, but their Instagram posts just make me want to drool! To start, I was a little unsure what to get and I had some questions. For a latte you can choose between soy and oat milk- obvi I had to try the oat! The man working was very helpful and patient while answering and helping me along my way. I ended up going with an oat milk latte and it was pretty good I think it would have also been good over ice. It had a nice natural sweetness to it. I then of course had to try their baked goods. I had a sprinkled donut which was very tasty, soft and fresh. To go I had a piece of coffee cake and that was even better! I just came for the coffee and pastries I saw in other reviews, but ended up getting coffee, a matcha white chocolate chip cookie, and splitting the English Breakfast. The coffee was solid. The cookie wasn't overly sweet or packed with white chocolate, which I appreciated. The English Breakfast was what really convinced me to add this to my "return later" list. The plate had buttered toast, tempeh bacon (the best tempeh I've ever had), two eggs (option for tofu), and baked beans (approved by my southern friend!). If you are planning on going on a Sunday, you should know that they only serve the Sunday brunch special, drinks, and items from the pastry case. read more

So good! Just found out about this place selling vegan donuts (which I've been looking for since Valkyrie closed up) and also saw they sell vegan breakfast sandwiches too! I got a vegan egg and cheese sandwich and it was so so good. I also got a blueberry oat milk latte and two of their vegan donuts (orange cream and key lime pie), both of which were also delicious too! Service was great and fast, everyone was so nice! Pretty fantastic. No almond milk here for the coffee, but the oat milk isn't too bad. Many of the items are vegan or can be made vegan. The menu in the store isn't really clear on this, but it's easier online (all ordering is as such right now). The reuben and bagel are on point. The main improvement I'd make of course is for it to be 100% vegan. It'd then be an East Coast match to Timeless Coffee in the Bay Area. read more
