t seems like this place just opened, but the fish is incredibly fresh and honestly tastes so much better than other sushi restaurants around here. The chef was super friendly and handsome, and the server was also so nice and welcoming. I'm honestly so happy to have such a great sushi spot open in this neighborhood. I'll definitely be coming back here from now on!

In an office style building, with office style parking lot is this sushi spot that you can not miss! This gem has truly the the best sushi /customer service and decor that Sherman Oaks has to offer. The items are well priced, the customer service makes you feel at home and the decor and setup is an amazing experience. The little details and the options are amazing! I would recommend this spot for a cute date, family outing and any experience that involves people. This spot is the best and you'll enjoy every bite! 10/10, come here and come back, I know I will! A gem you don't want to sleep on!

This is a new Sushi restaurant on Sepulveda in Sherman oaks. I heard about it on Next Door. I said, I was the one who said I'll be there on Sunday. Young, one of the owners, remembered my comment and we hugged as if we were old friends. Young and her husband own this restaurant. The oh so fresh Spicy Tuna tastefully melts in your mouth. I was so surprised how the texture of the tuna was so welcoming. Definitely try the Tuna Tartare with avocado and jalapenos. This is a great companion to your entree. The crispy chips was a great pairing that added a bit of Mexican flare. The Lemon Roll paired with spicy crab, cream cheese and a thin slice of lemon surprisingly reminded me of a piece of candy. It was not overbearing, and the combination was a great melange. Every dish is made to order. The wait was reasonable. There was a large family, and several tables with couples. A very comfortable environment. I did also notice lots of pickup orders. I definitely recommend that you stop in and enjoy one of the many sushi dishes available at Kaiki Sushi. I know I'll be back.

I love sushi! I don't mind if I have to travel a bit just to get some good sushi. One of my coworkers mentioned Kaiki Sushi, which had recently opened in the valley. I live north of the valley, but I was game lol! I was enthusiastically greeted by the hostess who seated me and I began to check out the menu. Wow, they had a lot of my favorites! Some of the sushi comes topped with home made wasabi! Such a treat. I noticed that the sushi tasted very fresh! I was informed that the sushi chef, who happens to be her husband, that he only works with fresh fish. You can really taste it too. Even their miso soup was amazing. They really do emphasize freshness! The prices are incredible and the service impeccable. The ambiance is fun with a play on words. You really need to check this place out!

The food was delicious and most beautifully arranged and the service was amazing. We appreciate the special attention that Young gave us. We will definitely be back again since there were a lot of other menu items we want to try. The decor is super cute too.

We stumbled upon this place because we were in the area and craving sushi. The reviews seemed good and so we checked it out - the reviews are all so true!!! This is a new spot with delicious food! We met the owner, Young I believe, who was truly the sweetest and kindest person. She was very attentive and you can tell she's passionate about her restaurant! We were so well taken care of and loved everything. The zen roll was my personal favorite. One thing to note, they do mix their non spicy crab with mayo in the dragon(?) roll. I'm not a fan, but my dinner companion was! We will absolutely be returning and I have no doubt people will love this new sushi spot. The playlist was also very fun!

I stopped by for dinner with my husband and 2 year old toddler and everything from the service to the food was beyond impressive. Our server, Young, was fantastic and genuinely one of the best servers I've had in a long time. She brought out all of our food super fast and didn't miss a single detail - she made sure we had utensils for my toddler, brought ice to help cool down the udon, and constantly kept our water glasses full without us ever having to ask. We ordered the Jessica Albacore roll, Truffle Yuzu Halibut Sashimi, Chicken Karaage, Yummy Crispy Tempura Roll, salmon collar, uni sushi, mixed tempura and udon. Every single dish was fresh, delicious, and very well made. The flavors were clean and balanced, and you could really tell they use quality ingredients. And I am not kidding when I say this: they have the BEST udon. I live in Thousand Oaks, and I would absolutely drive all the way back just for their udon alone. The best part is that it's not just great service and amazing food - the prices are almost unbelievable for what you get. You really can't beat their prices, and they definitely do not skimp on ingredients or portions. Kaiki Sushi is a perfect spot for a casual date... although fair warning, she might end up loving the food more than you. Highly recommend this place and especially Young for outstanding service.

We like to try new menu items and it AMAZES US EVERY SINGLE TIME HERE.. Our tummies were sooooooo full u can just ROLL US OUTTA THERE ASAP. Also, the woman's bathroom smells really good kinda fruity and fresh scent inside compared to other places. That's another plus!!! If u order the Spicy Tuna Tartare, ask for XTRA CHIPS!!!!!!!!

It's such a dilemma to post about a great sushi restaurant because you don't want to have the pain of waiting for a table once it catches on. Kaiki Sushi deserves every one of the five stars it's been given. Every single piece of fish was plentiful, the taste excellent and the presentation beautiful. Every request was accommodated without issue and every piece of sushi and creative roll was flawlessly prepared. In an area that is overrun with sushi restaurants to find one that you can't wait to return to is a gift. Young brings an energy to her restaurant that is rare to find and shows that caring about what you do matters.

    Maya L.

EVERYTHING went beyond well!! From the warm yet sincere greeting from Young, my server to the super-savory Toro Trio, fresh & tantalizing Pink Scallops Sashimi, Ikura (roe) that was NOT at all salty like all other sushi places, to the bold yet pleasing-to-the-eye, modern interior, though this eatery is only four months old, and though this was my very first time dining here based on other outstanding and convincing Yelp reviews, I DEFINITELY will be returning quite frequently (I reside in Los Angeles, but Kaiki Sushi is well worth the drive) by myself AND with others!!

The cut felt sloppy, and there was even a bone present, which made it hard to enjoy at all. More concerning than presentation was the overall freshness -- it had that slightly off, fishy edge that you just don't want when you're ordering salmon, especially if you normally love it. On the brighter side, the Hubba Hubba roll actually delivered. Balanced, flavorful, and easily the best thing we ordered. That said, the experience took a weird turn when the waitress cleared the plate while we were still actively eating from it. It felt rushed and a bit dismissive, especially for a restaurant at this price point. The vegetable gyoza was an easy skip. Dense, difficult to bite through, and oddly bland -- not much else to say there. The Big Daddy Roll and 911 Roll were fine, but nothing stood out. The fish didn't taste especially fresh, the rice felt a little past its prime, and overall everything leaned more "okay sushi night" than anything memorable. At the end of the meal, I just wasn't convinced. Between the inconsistency in freshness, a couple execution issues, and the pacing of service, I'm not sure I'd return -- especially given the price. One good roll in an otherwise uneven experience isn't quite enough to bring me back, but I'd be curious if this was an off night or just the norm. Casual spot with premium pricing.

First, it's always busy at dinner, so you know the word is out that it is good. Second, the food is consistantly very good. Third (and can be First), the staff is great. They work well together and quietly and always make sure you are taken care of and they are also friendly, which is great when you are a regular. So, Katsu-ya is a chain. Little Izaka-ya by Katsu-ya serves the same great taste and standard of any of the Katsu-ya restaurants, only this one will serve smaller dishes.
