Again, the dentist and technician are fine, but this is a medical practice which will hit you with surprise medical billing, which appears to be a common practice nowadays. Long story short, he fixed and saved not only that tooth but the entire bridge, saving me a lot of grief and money. As it turned out, it proved to be trickier that we even thought. In the end, I was super impressed. Kudos to Dr. Banks! My lab was in the DC metro area and, over the years, I got to know at least 100 dentists and was very familiar with the caliber of their work. Out of all those dentists, there were probably 5 or so that I would want to go to, not because the others were so bad but because those 5 were so good. They were my top picks. I was pleasantly greeted by their front desk staff upon entering and the hygienist (Alaina) ushered me In after a very short wait. Alaina took extra time to explain in detail what she was about to do and the procedures, equipment and substances she was using to X-ray and painlessly clean my teeth. I recently had my 6 month regular check up with FC Family Dentistry and was VERY pleased with their level of customer service, care, and friendliness! Dr. Gul was excellent, providing thorough explanations of their approach to cleaning and care and asked me at least twice if I was experiencing any pain during my cleaning (I felt nothing!). Before and after the cleaning she explained why she was recommending X-rays and the three issues she'd identified, stating that she would confirm the level of urgency via the X-rays. The equipment used was modern and Dr. Gul provided a thorough assessment of my teeth and gums based on the X-rays. In the end, she explained that she would continue to monitor the situations vs. take immediate action and counseled me on how to avoid making things worse. This was so refreshing, as many dentists are often looking for ways to charge you for things you may or may not need. Dr. Gul's beside manner and that of her technician's was kind, warm, caring, and gentle.
