The nursing staff were pretty thorough and the nurse practitioner I had was extremely friendly, asking questions and seemed to take her time listening to me more than my own doctor. But it shouldn't have taken 3 weeks to resolve the issue. Horrible communication and inability to correct a mistake on their end. I needed a TB test for grad school and a lot of urgent cares didn't take insurance for the test. When I made the appointment on June 4th, the person I spoke with said they take my insurance. When I arrived for the test on June 8th, I was told the test wasn't covered by insurance and was $69. Since I needed the test for school, I just paid the fee and it was a little lower than some other places. However, they should have told me at the time of booking so I could have been prepared to pay or go elsewhere. The bigger issue is that they haven't refunded the $50 fee I was charged when I filled out my information online. The online portal just asked for my card info but nowhere did it say I'd be charged a fee. When I went to get my results read on 6/10/26, I showed the receptionist a screenshot from my bank account and she said that was a no show fee and they would refund it since I showed up to my scheduled appointments. When I check my bank account two days later, I don't see the refund. I've made several calls and the people I talk to keep saying they'll look into the issue yet my bank account doesn't show the refund. One person I talked to said I shouldn't have been charged the NSF because I had a TB test, not appt. It shouldn't take 3 weeks to refund the fee and am seriously considering taking City Health to small claims court. The person who did my TB test was friendly but I would not go back to City Health due to the above issues.

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Oakland…read more This review is for the 3rd floor, Surgery Intake. Upon checking in, I was called in pretty quickly and was seen right away. The care I've received was phenomenal! The first nurse who registered me in was super supportive. I didn't get her name but she was a G.I nurse prior and a nurse for 20 years, she wore all red, has short hair with cute glasses! She was very informative, helpful and direct. It was a great experience! There were many staff who also help me to relax about the whole procedure. I honestly don't remember the surgery but remember the after care. The staff who cared for me were Chris, Gia and Senora/ Cinora. Chris made sure I was awake and aware when the anesthesia wore off before sending me to the recovery room where I met nurse Gia. Nurse Gia helped me with understanding the after care instructions, made sure I was well and okay to leave. It was cool to get to know her as well, we have very similar birthdays and I think that was cool! Senora/ Cinora was very kind and sweet. Overall, I had a great experience with 3rd floor- Surgery Intake and would highly recommend them to other people. Thanks to all the medical staffs and doctors also!

Every staff and nurse we've met so far has been helpful and friendly, especially in taking care of my elder parents. So far no issues. The inside and getting to the medical office is like a maze though. Haha You can easily get lost like I did. The parking is an issue for me as you have a garage parking but can only be validated for a few hours for free and then you pay. It's expensive. There is also valet but that is expensive. Why do we have to pay parking for patients? Your appointment is never under two hours; you would be lucky if it was. The street parking is the cheapest and so far I have been lucky in finding one close especially, for my parents. All in all, I appreciate the staff here in trying to help us the best they can. My range of motion never returned back to normal despite the false reassurance by Dr. Stein. The therapists requested my insurance for more therapy sessions so they could try something different to see if they could get my full range of motion back. Even though my insurance approved the sessions, Jenn the PA ended up canceling my sessions being adamant saying I didn't need them. Then she unprofessionally kept arguing with me and said there's nothing else they would be willing to do to remedy the situation. I left a very frustrating voicemail for her asking why they would treat me like that. Not only did she not reply, but a week later, I received a discharge letter in the mail. Fast forward to this week, I had another injury to my hand. Knowing I have limited transportation and access to another hand clinic , I tried calling EB Hand again. I explained the discharge history to the receptionist, but she told me there was no record of me being discharged on file. So then I sent my referral to them and proceeded to book the appointment. I get three hasty call attempts maybe an hour later basically telling me they dug up files from 5 years ago saying I was discharged from their practice. I would avoid this practice like the plague. They mostly deal with Worker's Comp patients, and all they want to do is collect money from your insurance. Whether or not you experience a full recovery or they live up to their treatment promises is of absolutely NO PRIORITY to them. Beware! Zero stars for the medical staff. The one star is for Mike and Joe, the therapists, who were always great to me.
