I get so much paper snail mail from Kaiser since my employer switched to them. They are stuck in the 90s. Also, their pharmacy is exactly like going to the DMV. You take a number and they call you up- everyone can hear what you're saying to them when you get up there because they've all been waiting so long they are all paying attention. All of your personal information is on display- they can all hear it. It's embarrassing at best. Also, their doctors seem to work whenever they feel like it- not regularly, you won't develop a relationship with any of them. The whole system is very impersonal- it's a very disorganized place. It represents the money you pay to be a part of it, cheap. 100%. If you have a choice, don't do Kaiser, you will regret it. read more

Mostly good docs amidst total KP disorganization. * 2nd pain med delivery mistake: I'm post knee replacement. A doc mailed pain meds rather than requested Rx for pickup at pharmacy. So I may or may not get them in time to let me sleep Saturday and Sunday night. They wouldn't correct their mistake or request even two-night's pills for pharmacy pickup. They said, "They're already mailed. Maybe you'll get them in time." Ouch. * 1st pain med delivery mistake: Last time they sent pain meds both by mail and pharmacy pick up. I didn't need double Rxs, so I got the pickup cancelled. * An anesthesiologist didn't read that I am allergic to tincture of benzoin surgical adhesive. I itched for two weeks. I complimented the anesthesiologist on making through medical school without being able to read. Then a nurse removing 28 surgical staples started painting benzoin to hold steri-strips. I made her wash it off. Their IT department should highlight allergies to surgery persons. * A reception person referred me to the wrong waiting room, so I missed an appointment. Rescheduling meant changing in-state travel plans. read more

I had a procedure done and went home the same day. Even though this building is in a questionable area, the staff were all very pleasant. The nurses, and especially the anesthesiologists were so sweet and knowledgeable. I was treated with respect and dignity. It is a drive from my house but I'll go back if ever again needed. I enjoy my peace of mind and my day by walking about my neighborhood. Nothing is done that incites interest from anyone other than maybe giving some birds a treat at most, which is certainly not illegal or in need of other peoples interest. On the corner of 15th and John while in public a Security Guard across the street started yelling at me to not do this on "his property". Location: There is a walkway located on the Kaiser Permanente campus, between 15th and 16th Avenues East, connecting E John Street to the south and E Thomas Street to the north. Public Access: The pathway is clearly marked as a public way and is accessible to the public 24 hours a day. Maintenance: Kaiser Permanente is responsible for maintaining this public pathway as part of its agreement with the city of Seattle. Although this is also public I was not even on their property whatsoever at any time. I do not care who this individual is or how he feels about me or anything else. He was not protecting property or responding to an illegal act on the premises. I had public right of way and was not causing any disturbance. He was attempting to exert control over someone's innocent and legal behavior in a public space. Lack of training and common sense: A professionally trained security officer would have recognized that this was not a threat or an issue requiring intervention. His decision to yell across the street was an aggressive act that could have easily escalated into a more serious confrontation solely based on him overstepping his bounds. Completely indefensible: He cannot argue that he was simply enforcing a rule, as no such rule exists for my specific actions. It is a complete lack of self-control and poor judgment. The guard's unprofessional yelling and unfounded claims of authority served no legitimate purpose. Without lawful authority: A private security guard has no special authority over members of the public on a public street or alley more than a private citizen. These are public right-of-ways. The guard's intent was to intimidate, seek validation and exert power where he had none. Hospital's responsibility: The hospital is responsible for the actions of its employees. This constitutes negligent supervision and exposes the hospital to liability issues. Unacceptable in a hospital context: A hospital setting requires a calm and compassionate environment. The guard's aggressive behavior undermines this and creates an atmosphere of unease and intimidation, which is unacceptable, especially for patients or visitors and those who live in or frequent the area and neighborhood. Higher standard of conduct: People going to a hospital are often already distressed. They expect an environment of safety, calm, and compassion. Security guards are part of creating and maintaining that environment. His aggressive and unpredictable behavior directly violates that expectation. Failed responsibility: A hospital security guard's job is to protect people and property on hospital grounds, not harass members of the public engaged in harmless activities and minding their own business. His actions not only failed in this core responsibility but created a new problem where none existed. Negligent hiring or supervision: Kaiser Permanente is legally obligated to properly vet and supervise its employees. Breach of public trust: The badge and uniform convey a certain authority, which the guard abused. This erodes public trust in both the security profession and the medical institution he represents. This is especially damaging for a hospital, which relies on public trust to function effectively. He was not a random person; he was an employee representing a medical institution. For a single incident of unprovoked harassment, particularly involving yelling and intimidation in a public space, firing the guard is a very plausible and justifiable outcome. His actions reflect a fundamental lack of judgment and self-control that makes him unfit for a security role, especially one at a hospital dealing with the public. The risk of future escalation with a different member of the public is too high. He was supposedly trained and represents the hospital making the hospital at fault and responsible, enabling this behavior. Personally I will not change my chosen routes of walking in public nor should I but I would advise to go somewhere else, this institution already has a 2.5 rating ( at time of writing almost 1/2 are 1 star ratings) and everyone deserves to be treated with decency and respect. read more

My Concern Regarding Unequal Treatment at Kiser Urgent Care 2025. I am writing to formally express my concern regarding an experience I had at Kaiser's Urgent care on 02/20/25. During my visit, I noticed a pattern of what appeared to be preferential treatment towards white patients over patients of color, myself included. Specifically I was asked to sit and wait when inquiring about my wait time, while a white elderly couple who asked a similar question was immediately directed through the double doors and provided a room number. * I waited two hours for an X-ray, while two individuals who arrived after me were called within 30 minutes. I overheard a nurse say, "Let's get you scanned downstairs," indicating they were being called back for x-ray, seems like they were expedited. I understand that various factors impact wait times, but the visible disparity in treatment was concerning especially the tone in response when asking a question the customer service was not contact all. I would appreciate clarity on how patient priority is determined and what steps are taken to ensure equitable treatment for all patients. Please let me know the appropriate next steps for addressing this issue. I look forward to your response. read more

Emergency & Palliative Care / Hospice Kaiser physicians gave EXCELLENT care in EMERGENCY. PALLIATIVE CARE, & HOSPICE. Excellent‼ HOWEVER, a BIG CAUTIONARY: if you're a Kaiser patient, get treated AT KAISER, NOT AT A COOPERATING HOSPITAL: this involves you in their DISASTROUS 'Hospitalist' system, which unleashes Drs that oversee & interfere with the responsible decisions & care furnished by attending physicians at the hospital housing/treating you! The Hospitalist's eye is toward $$, cost-cutting, & to disastrous results in our experience!!! Second-guessing. My rating of Kaiser OFF-CAMPUS CARE would be -1. NO DOUBT. Off the charts BAD. The suffering HOSPITALIST Physicians would have caused MY HUSBAND, through not bothering to read his Kaiser Palliative-Care pain-management notes or by countermanding recommendations of attending physicians upsets me still, 4 yrs after my husband's death. In one case, WITHOUT READING HIS PATIENT RECORDS, a Hospitalist was about to deny him very necessary pain treatment, for the cost, no doubt! Reading patient notes is so elementary! Not doing so is malpractice, 100%. (They were about to take him off Fentanyl patches, when his prostate cancer had metastasized to the bone _ the worst kind of cancer pain. It had taken him 2 weeks with NO PAIN MEDS whatsoever, to do the required weaning from Morphine to Fentanyl. Excruciating pain. Medically IRRESPONSIBLE, it was to make such a decision without bothering to read the palliative care Pain-Administrator's notes. Thank heaven I happened to call the hospital at 2 am, precisely as this plan was being implemented, in time to STOP IT. . AMATEURS might well have been more attentive. (I come from a hospital family: Doctor-dad, nurse-mom & emergency-room nurse-cousin.) Conscientious professional care does not make these kinds of elementary mistakes. The second catastrophe at the hands of a Kaiser HOSPITALIST Physician involved releasing my husband with 10 pounds of water on his lungs from the hospital when he was complaining he could not breathe. I was asked if my husband might be worried enough to be imagining he couldn't breathe (?!!) or hysterically causing the condition! _ Believe me, if you can't breathe, you get very worried & upset! My husband was always the coolest head in the room. And YES, HE WAS WORRIED. Once home, he had to be sent right back to emergency _ this time to KAISER itself (I wouldn't allow him to return to Swedish!) _ And it took 2 physicians 2 hours to fish a vein forth, in order to stressfully hook him to an I.V., there was so much fluid in him‼ Weary, the successful physician turned to me and said, "They released him with 10 lbs _ now 15 lbs _ of water on his lungs?! HOW DO YOU MISS THAT⁉‼ No shit! Kaiser has great docs at their own facilities; But, what you DON'T WANT & MUST AVOID are the egoic HOSPITALISTS, who somehow think they're smarter than everyone else, or have something to prove. As long as you stay within Kaiser, you won't run into them. DON'T LET AN AMBULANCE TAKE YOU TO SWEDISH OR ANY OTHER COOPERATING HOSPITAL. (That is when the Hospitalists appear!) I'm not a Kaiser member but I live really close by and was feeling absolutely horrible so I popped on over to Urgent Care and was really surprised at how quickly I was seen. Everyone was really nice. The PA or NP I saw (Christopher) was friendly and attentive. All the nurses were friendly. I was in and out in just over an hour. I'm a little worried about what my bill will be but at least I don't have to worry about having some awful virus or flu. Thanks, Kaiser! read more

Their gate for the parking complex closed about an hour early and despite multiple attempts to have them open the gate we still had to wait over an hour for someone to open the gate. I would recommend sticking to the posted hours and having someone staff the booth until the complex is supposed to close. Otherwise the hospital was nice. read more

I have been treated here for years and have been consistently impressed with the docs and service. You need to advocate for yourself for sure - it is a business - but they are great at collaborating with you even with referrals to different places for second opinions - all of which confirmed that the docs are doing the right thing at KP, but they may add something to check or do here or there. I just tried to schedule a dermatology appointment for my excema, it has really flared up. The earliest appointment they can give me is March 2026, at any location. This is absurd and unacceptable. Came to the Urgent Care when I sliced my finger on a serrated knife on a Tuesday night after 10pm. Thankfully, I know this campus so I was able to efficiently get to the Urgent Care location, but if you've never been here before, the signage is terrible and the parking lot is far from Urgent Care, so it's better if you have someone to drop you off so you don't have to walk across the mini campus. When I arrived, there was only one person at the desk who was talking to a very well appearing man (who later just left without being seen), and there was zero triage ability to speak of. So I arrived, cut finger soaking blood through a towel, and waited. And waited. I approached security and the desk a couple times. It took about 5 minutes for another person to come to the front desk, but they were logging on / setting up for so long that the other person at the desk ended up seeing me first. I ended up waiting for over 15 minutes (in an empty waiting room!) before a nurse triaged me. Once I was in a room, I was able to get seen for stitches, but I was disappointed by my medical care. Of note, I am a healthcare provider so my complaints are based on what I know my medical care should have been. First, the physician did a nerve block which did not fully numb my finger where my laceration was. The lower portion of my finger (closer to my palm) was numb, but not the tip where I was getting stitches. I flinched and told him I could feel his needle, and despite my protestations, rather than numb me more, he had me sit through the stitches feeling every single needle poke (four total) and the pulling and tugging of the suture as he tied. Second, he did not tie the sutures tightly enough. There were air knots and so my laceration did not heal together. After 8 days when the stitches were removed, there was a large visible gap /divet in the skin of my finger. read more

First of all, the building is far too large and it is impossible to navigate for people who are first time visitors. As a tenth time visitor, I still get lost and end up late for an appointment because I can't find the right floor/building or I get stuck in one of these long hallways with no one in it. Second, the website is inaccessible to anyone but fully able-bodied master engineers as the site is clunky, unwieldy and hard to find anything. Most pages are too old to have any useful information and the whole thing ruins my day any time I need to do something simple like check an appointment time as that kind of thing is beyond the website. Worse, if you are disabled, there is really no way to interface with Kaiser since they force you into their app/website, and the app is just a app version of the website and doesn't actually have any positive features. The care you get is sub standard and the doctors are probably from the bottom 50% of their class since Kaiser can't seem to afford anyone smart of competent. read more

Capitol Hill Hearing Center is terrible. I'd give one star if I could. It takes 3-5 months to get an appointment to get my hearing aid serviced. There are only three audiologists in the KP system to serve all the deaf and hard-of-hearing patients in all of Seattle. They are all young women who were all on maternity leave last year. KP refuses to hire more staff. KP makes it difficult to get hearing aid supplies, like wax excluders. They used to send them out to patients for free but suddenly they are charging $8 for "shipping fees." That's a code for "the CEO needs more money." He already makes $17.4 million. KP is going to start requiring an appointment to pick up the hearing aid supplies, which will probably take months as well. This greedy, dysfunctional company keeps coming up with new methods of denying care to patients. I'll buy my next pair of hearing aids at Costco. read more

Just allow 30-60 minutes if you need the a prescription from the pharmacy. Went to Northgate (where I was told my med was in stock), was told they don't have it and was referred to Capitol Hill and they'd call ahead and have it ready. Waited 15 minutes for my number to be called at Capitol Hill only to be told they never got the notice to fill the script. Was told to wait another twenty minutes for it to be filled. Twenty five minutes later I had to leave for another appointment. Come back an hour later and wait again for 20 minutes for my number to be called. Can't you hire more pharmacists? You are for sure collecting plenty of premiums. How many millions do you have to make til it's enough to provide a little better customer service. You are great in a lot of ways, but I dread going to the Kaiser pharmacy anywhere. read more

I've been trying to make a complaint since 3/28/22 but the medical facility manager won't return my phone calls. My mother and I were treated with incredible rudeness by an employee in the imaging department named Marth. I believe wholeheartedly that it was due to my mother's appearance and use of a wheelchair as Marth was kind and respectful to all the others checking in for their testing. Marth glared at us, rolled her eyes, was purposely brief with responses and wouldn't make eye contact when directly addressed with questions about timing for testing etc.. Not returning calls and emails when a complaint is filed is unprofessional and not conducive to making patients and their caregivers feel secure in obtaining medical services at this location. read more

Patients are waiting 5 and 6 hours for what seems like...taking their sweet time. I get that med staff is taxed but when you have a waiting room with lots of open seats, seems like there's more lolly gagging going on than anything else. I'm watching patients that arrived after me, being treated and leaving before me...pretty inconsistent. It seems as if this is the worst location to come to for URGENT care because my issues are fairly urgent and I'm just sitting, waiting and watching staff shoot the breeze. If my foot didn't hurt so bad I'd leave and go to a different urgent care facility. I receive my multiple sclerosis from Kaiser and that will be changing very soon because they don't remind or update me about my infusions until they're overdue. Security is so so...when I worked security it was straight laced, in uniform, shoes included. I see officers walking around in tennis shoes with saggin' pants. Not all of them but still, you're presenting and image as a unit, not 3 guy's doing it right and 2 who don't care. In conclusion: I went to get my foot looked at and was sent home with warfarin. I'm grateful each time for how compassionate, kind, and communicative each person has been to me here. I'm a person who hates phone calls and tracking conversations for medical care - but the Kaiser app is so useful, integrates with MyChart if you get a referral to another place or out of network provider, and it's so easy to access and use. I am 2 weeks post op from robotic hip replacement surgery and I feel great. My surgeon Dr. Foster Chen and his staff are very competent. Honestly I couldn't ask for a better team. They far exceeded my expectations. Before surgery I could not straighten my leg, lift my leg to get in a car or walk. Yesterday I walked one mile. I haven't walked that far in months. I have seen many hip replacements done without robotics. The recovery is so much longer than what I am experiencing with robotics. One negative factor is the scheduling. I saw several healthcare providers before I got in to see the surgeon and received a diagnosis. It seems to me that when an x-ray shows bone on bone arthritis someone needs to get the ball rolling sooner. A lot of healthcare dollars and pain and suffering could be avoided to improve the quality of care. read more

This review is for the pharmacy only. I was on vacation in Seattle and left my medication at home. My doctor faxed a request for an emergency supply but when I got to the pharmacy they advised that I needed to go to the business office and get a WA Kaiser account in order to pick up a prescription. The business office was right around the corner and the woman at the desk made the process very easy and quick. When I go back to the pharmacy counter the pharmacist let me know that nothing was received because their system is different from the CA Kaiser system. We decided to transfer my prescription over and when I called to check, there was still no response from my home pharmacy so the WA pharmacy ended up calling. I eventually was able to get my prescription and I'm grateful to the staff for helping me and being so committed and helpful during the process. read more

Not a fan of this Urgent care or location in general. I know medical staff can be rude but this place takes it to a whole new level. It's the age old saying "If you don't like your job, find a new one." I arrived on a.m Friday evening around 8pm. Red flag number one was both receptionists were busy checking others in so I stood and waited patiently, another woman walked in and had a seat. When one woman was available she waves the other woman who walked in minutes after me. Thankfully the woman was kind enough to let me go first! The receptionist rolled her eyes when I came and sat down. Really? She was also highly irritated that I was not a Kaiser Member even though I called hours beforehand to make sure it was okay for me to go there. They are the only 24 hour clinic and the place I normally go to was closed by the time I got off work so I explained this to her. She said it was fine that I'm there but I can't come for any follow ups whatsoever because again.. I'm not a Kaiser member. I told her i understand what she was saying as they are not my primary care providers. She was also just rude and brash and barely looked me in the eye. The Nurse and PA I had were also very rude and awful! I'm telling you guys this is the worst experience I have ever had with medical care. The PA clearly didn't know how to handle my situation and was acting very scatterbrained and was just all over the place. She asked me the same questions over and over again which gave me the idea that she just had no idea what she was doing in all honesty. I ended up going to my normal Urgent care the following day and not only had wonderful experiences with the staff but received clear answers and relief for my anxiousness of dealing with the infection I have going on. So that basically tells me to always stick with UW medical! AND ANOTHER THING! I got an email about tests results and was confused about creating an account so I called and was actually greeted by a kind gentleman who told me he could transfer me to someone who could go over the results with me. I then get an extremely rude Nurse named Amy who was so unprofessional. She was like "Hi. I'm Amy. I'm a nurse" so I had to re explain my situation to her and she started barking at me over the phone cutting me off mid sentence telling me she can't discuss medical results like that over the phone. Which is fine but 1. You could tell me in a nice way 2. That message needs to be relayed to all staff! I told her I was confused since it says I have to be a Kaiser Member to create an account and I was confused because you need a member number and she was like "You have one everyone does." But in a very mean and aggressive way. Again she was cutting me off every second she could get. I am APPALLED with this place! I'm sorry but to be a healthcare provider is not an easy thing but if you have that much of a lack of empathy and compassion then what are you doing??? I'm in school for Massage Therapy and we are considered to be healthcare providers in Washington state and I would never have bedside manner like this or talk to clients in this way. I know I'm nowhere near the level of medical and I understand the stress these people are under but please don't make me feel like a piece of crap just because I am feeling unwell. My highlight was being able to tell Amy that she was awful with how she was speaking to me and that she should be ashamed of herself. Do you need a professional yet kind, calm and trustworthy urgent care? Well this urgent care is not the right people. An elderly relative, 70s year old rushed to urgent care with a severely bloody hand. The hand was trapped in the car's door. I understand the aftereffects of the pandemic very well for the medical field, no need to tell me that. But this isn't a excuse to be an asshole. We, including elder relative, elder's husband and granddaughter approached the security guard. We explained the elderly relative is in pain and bleeding a lot, what is going on, our needs and why we are here so they can tell us kindly and professionally what to do. The security guard's answer with a rude tone is: Everyone is in a lot of pain. Watch the people in front of you since there are a lot of people. ...NO SHIT EVERYONE IS IN PAIN. That is the purpose of urgent care. Also there is no clear "line". Everyone was sitting. Get a better system than put it on people in pain to manage the line. Also the first thing to say "everyone is in a lot of pain" is dismissive, rude and unsympathetic to anyone who is coming to urgent care from a vulnerable position. There are so many better and understanding phrases. This security guard showcased their inability to embody humanity through compassion and understanding. They lack the training in a medical facility setting. If the security guard were in the same position and their loved one was treated with the same attitude, tone and words. The security guard would see what I am talking about. I'm sure they wouldn't like it either. Did the security guard had to pause their night and not have dinner because of a severe bloody dislocated hand caught in a car's door with full force impact and needed immediate medical attention? No, they just had to sit at their little desk and embody humanity through compassion and understanding to patients. I have dealt with people having bad days at their workplace, I get it and I've been there too. But this wasn't acceptable and welcoming. Elderly people get enough bullshit already. My husband spent 30 hours in ER last weekend. Had throat abcess, couldn't swallow (very stoic, when he woke me up at 3 am to drive him there I knew it was serious). Bad airway. The otolaryngology doctor, as well as all the ER staff was amazing! Brandon Kim was on call for the weekend and took very good care of him (as well as all the other staff. Night nurse was Mark that was amazing, as all Mark's have to stick together, my husband's name). Anyhow, Dr. Kim gave him the option of staying in ER overnight or being transferred to Swedish ER and ICU and possibly being intubated, or getting treated with steroids, antibiotics and humidified oxygen at Kaiser ER. The conservative treatment worked great, sometimes sticking stuff in people causes more problems in my opinion.. Can't say enough about all the staff there from security, check in at the desk and the level of medical and nursing care that was given to my husband. Sorry I can't remember all of the staff's names, but everyone was amazing and excellent care! Been a patient at Group Health/Kaiser since I was 14 (now 68!) always excellent service! read more

Plz do not go KP at all! They will treat you like a trash and will charge you crazy for that! First, I used their chat with clinician for free service, I had pleasant chat with professional clinician, BUT I received a bill to pay 72$! I called asked about why I am being charged for the FREE SERVICE, representative said depending on your insirance it is not free for you! Why on earth then they advertised as free, could write explanation that it might charge you uf you use HSA! Second I had a visit with a Doctor at their Capitol hill campus, Doctor treated my 21month old son very unpleasant, she did nothing just asked aweful questions about my son being fussy (when my son got fussy cz doctor made us wait about half an hour) she asked questions like "is he normally like this? What he will stop crying? -with tone of annoyance! And for this service they sent a 292$ bill! For God's sake do to other place! I purpose to seeing doctor was to check my sons lung as he had contunuing cold for 2 week, she listened about 30sec said its ok. Today I was supposed to have a phone appointment with a nurse to schedule my colonoscopy. (I had to wait almost 6 weeks to get this appointment.) I cleared my schedule for the call, but almost half an hour after the call time, I got a text about a message in Kaiser. The message was to tell me that I didn't need the nurse's call, and that I should schedule the colonoscopy myself! When I called, I complained about how rude it was to require me to set aside time for a call, only to say I didn't need one. The nurse scheduler apologized profusely and explained that someone on the manager level decided this was a good plan. So typical of administrators ruining everything!! read more

I have had several elderly relatives who are seen at Kaiser in Bellevue and Seattle, and with a few notable exceptions it was just awful. Misdiagnoses, wrong prescriptions, doctors that had no idea before surgery of the patient's life-threatening health conditions which had been previously diagnosed by Kaiser. With a (very) few exceptions of wonderful, competent staff, it has been disappointing and alarming to see the level of care provided. read more

Very clean and spacious with friendly employees! Different than what we have experienced in the Bay Area!

I've been struggling with heart palpitations, a very scary elevated heart beat, chest pain, and now joint pain and swelling in my extremities. I've been so scared, crying on and off for days just wanting to know what's wrong with me. I went to the emergency room at the Capitol Hill location. After spending a few hours being asked questions, getting blood drawn, and giving out other 'samples', I got called from the waiting room to see Dr. Parades. She called herself Valentine, which I thought was a little strange because I've never heard a doctor call themselves by their first name before. Instead of telling me the conclusion of the tests were, she decided to grill me on my symptoms. Every symptom I told her I had she disagreed with.. She told me constant aching pain in my chest didn't make any sense. She'd mutter 'oh that's really strange' when I'd say something else that's been happening.. Then I told her about how my aunt recently got diagnosed with pericarditis/myocarditis and how the symptoms are exactly like hers. My aunt manages her symptoms by taking an anti inflammatory, which takes the pain away but also takes pericardial swelling away which helps with heart palpitations, too. This is when she started trying to argue with me. I could tell the whole time she was just waiting for a point to argue about and she picked this one. 'No, it helps with pain, it doesn't magically take other symptoms away.' Actually Dr. Paredes, even a google search would bring up plenty of results that suggests otherwise. Anti inflammatories are for pain and swelling. Anyway, she proceeded to argue with me like a child. All I wanted to know was what was wrong with me.. I couldn't take it anymore so I told her she was fxxxing rude and to find a new profession where she's not dealing with vulnerable sick people.. Then I left in tears. She was the rudest, most immature and condescending doctor I've ever come across. Every single thing she did was just so unnecessary. Why?? I just want to know what's wrong with me?? I'm so hurt and heartbroken by my experience. I hope she takes my advice and never treats anyone else like how she did with me. read more

I am prefacing this by saying that yes there are a few quality physicians at Kaiser that truly care about their patients health, but due to the utter lack of communication, information, and over site by the scheduling department and general system at large it is unlikely you will ever encounter one. If you are actually sick or have an actual disease that requires consistent medical treatment I do not recommend Kaiser Permanente. Unfortunately my disease has required that I either interact with or attend a kaiser medical facility weekly for the past 5 months. These vists often end with zero medical treatment and me feeling beaten down and ignored. MULTIPLE times I have called the scheduling number, since the app they so happily tout as a fix for all their mistakes will not allow me to schedule directly through my provider, and had an appointment scheduled for either a time that doesn't exist or hours before the clinic even opens. Of course I am not made aware of that and arrive at my appointments only to be informed by an apathetic front desk person I will not be treated that day. I understand they are probably treated poorly by people like myself who are extremely frustrated by the unacceptable care they are receiving but rarely do they offer to reschedule or give other options. Of course I cannot leave feedback on an appointment that didn't happen (genius on their part). This means that I have continually had to miss work or other important things in my life to spend hours on the phone trying to reschedule. I have also had pharmacists who completely ignore my requests for different dosages due to complications with my medications all while asking me the same questions I answered multiple times months ago. If you need real treatment DO NOT GO HERE. If you are one of the lucky few who has never been sick and will never be sick, go ahead. read more

Kaiser Permanente continues to be a shambolic joke. I can't even begin to list all of the stupid mistakes made by their pharmacy department in particular. Hospital care seems to be good, as neither myself nor my husband have died in their care. But dealing with their bureaucracy is absolutely infuriating at all times. My husband has received OxyContin instead of his blood pressure medication. We've had meds sent to an old address - after we updated our record in the system. We were told we could not correct this on-line, but would have to walk into "the business office" (like it was 1973) to do the update. Today, I had meds sent to the Ballard pharmacy FOR NO REASON, as I have never used it once. Meds that I ordered for my husband the same day were sent to Capital Hill, which is where I have always gotten my refills. It's just death by a thousand cuts of stupidity and shitty systems that apparently don't talk to each other and just general laxness and crapitude and not caring about their patients. I work in healthcare - and I know about what it can look like if attention is paid and someone cares. At Kaiser, NO ONE CARES. read more

I' have been a "customer " of Kaiser my entire life, if I had an alternative I'd take it, if you have a choice between Kaiser or any other provider, choose the other provider. A few years ago I wrote a review explaining my disappointment with Kaiser and its uncaring management. Sadly they continue to decline. Surprise and confusing bills are the norm. Today I received a text that "due to circumstances " beyond their control my very important foot care appointment was cancelled and I was told I had to call an 800 number to reschedule. An HOUR later I got an appointment for April 22 to replace my February 18 appointment. One would expect that a so called "health care " organization would be proactive about helping someone they know has a history of wounds and of needing regular foot care. But this is Kaiser. Care is provided at their convenience not mine. In the last few years I have had 4 different Doctors and they closed the Ballard clinic, apparently because their bottom line is more important than what is right for the patient. Most likely someone will respond to this review with a request to send more details via email. Apparently they do this for p.r because they know and I know it's a way to waste more of my time, because my time and inconvenience is of no importance to Kaiser. I wonder why the State Insurance Commissioner is not investigating them. I wish I could have their executive team leave their VIP ivory tower and experience what I have experienced. Assuming they have a modicum of empathy they would make changes but Kaiser makes certain that this cannot happen. Departments are siloed, customer service representatives seem to care but are not empowered to do the right thing. Inside of Kaiser the care givers are generally excellent, outside the building is an Insurance company and administrative staff focused on rationing care and making it as difficult as possible to access care. Again, if you are stuck with Kaiser it is better than nothing but if you have a choice, know that you will be a nuisance variable not a customer. read more

I would leave 0 stars if I could. I came in because I have sores on my throat and was worried I had strep. After waiting for two hours and seeing multiple people come, get help, and leave, I went to talk to the woman at the receptionist's desk. Not only did she claim to know nothing about the system used to select the next patient, she was incredibly rude in doing so. I ended up leaving and using the LiveHealth app to talk to a doctor and the whole thing took 15 minutes. I can't believe how inefficient this establishment was, and above all else, I can't believe how rude the staff was to me. This is whole thing was just unreal. read more
