We returned home within a short time (1hour 15 minutes) and proceeded to indulge in the BLT. The sandwich was not eatable. The bacon was stuck together and so hard that there was no breaking through it. I proceeded to take the bacon off from between the croissant. Upon doing so, I found the bacon to be old or overly cooked. There was no way to eat the sandwich. I called kaiser and was transferred several times to the cafeteria. each time the ringing was long and then picked up and hung up. May 21, 2026 Another appointment at the Vacaville location for my mother. i then went down to this cafeteria and asked for the manager. I wanted to know if this location was operating under the same contract as the Vallejo location. The manager was summoned (middle-aged Asian female). Reiterating the issue, I was told that the sandwich was made to be eaten immediately (WHAT!). i responded by telling her that the timeline wasn't even 2 hours after buying. She then asked me for my credit card number in reference to the purchase. She wanted me to write it down for her. NOW THIS REQUEST IS CRAZY! I tell her, "Thank you" but "no thank you" and walk away. She tries to adjust her response but it's too late for me. May 22, 2026 I call back to Kaiser Vallejo and receive the same phone results (3 calls/no results). After three times of calling, long ringing and then phone picked up/hung up, I call one more time. This time the operator directs me to call the director (Jonh Healy) I complete the phone call and call Mr. Healy immediately. I was met with a voicemail and left a detailed message of the problem with contact number. I now await a callback.

Both the lady and male security guards went out of their way to locate my grandma's cane we had left a month prior. The nurses (Kaitlyn in med surge) and Carmie (CNA) at her most recent hospitalization were thorough with both managing her care, but also sharing her discharge information. I really appreciated the encouraging words from them as well. I can't speak on much of the doctors themselves, but my grandma's alive and doing well so I'd say that's been good. My only complaints are: the small ED lobby that feels like a bubble of germs with the circle of seats to cough onto each other. The lack of communication with wait times in between information given once you're in a room in the ED... and bedside with some ER doctors. But that's par the course for most hospitals.

The skin had grown over it and even though I got the earring out, the back wouldn't budge and it hurt. In times before, I'd remember that some doctors would turn my newly found concerns away and tell me I had to make another appointment. Dr Arthur did it all. She's amazing and overall Sutter has been a great place to have my medical care. Thank you again!

Or call the front desk and explain the problem. I've never tried this but it may be necessary. I popped in on Thursday morning and there was no line for emergency. Miracle! The only thing the receptionist had to do was wave me through. The nurses were relaxed and friendly Even the paperwork had been tamed by technology. I spent about 2-3 hours there. Everyone was relaxed and friendly probably because it was just a whole bunch of tests and I most likely wouldn't drop on them suddenly. Sadly the tests failed to pinpoint the problem and they recommended, nay, commanded I go see a specialist. Unfortunately I've spent enough time in emergency rooms to realize this is common. They simply don't have time or expertise do anything except eliminate the most dangerous And urgent problems. All in all, the staff either met or exceeded expectations There is always a major bummer in the emergency room that stops you from feeling sorry for yourself. First off, I've never had any problems with registration any time I've been here. The most recent registration clerk, that helped us out, was a very sweet and friendly woman. We had a great conversation while she checked my mom in for her surgery. In fact, all of the staff that I've interacted with are amazing, except the hospitalist that initially admitted me into the hospital nearly 5 years ago (he was a bit of a jerk). The other hospitalist I had was amazing. When he found out I was going into medicine, when he caught me studying for organic chemistry back then, he basically pampered me. I remember before he discharged me, he gave me candy and just talked to me about his experience going through medical school back in the day. It was quite entertaining and it helped to distract me from my predicament at that time. The facility itself is well kept and orderly, including the waiting room by the ER. The pre/post-op surgery room still looks the same after nearly 10 years of having my last surgery at this facility. It's not super spacious; however, it get's the job done. The inpatient rooms, from what I can remember, are pretty spacious. I was lucky enough to have a room to myself, when I was admitted almost 5 years ago, and I had a view of the helicopter pad (which I don't believe they use anymore). I like the new area where family members can wait on their loved ones who are having surgery. It's conveniently located right next to the cafeteria, which is helpful if you are stuck at the hospital for nearly 12 hours like I was. They also have a screen where you can check up on your loved one's surgery status (as in if they're still in pre-op, currently having the procedure, or are in recovery). Overall, I'm very satisfied with the care that my mom and I received here. The staff here are wonderful at what they do. They are truly compassion for patients and their families.

The incompetence is mind blowing. They charged me $135 for out of network fees (American Canyon), yet I nor my daughter have ever been to American Canyon for doctor visits. I paid the bill so it wouldn't go to collections. My Health Insurance and I reached out for conference calls on three occasions, they admitted that they owed me $135, but I have yet t o see a refund. Whenever I reach back out to see if has been processed and remind them of the conference calls, they tell me that there's no record of those calls. I always write down the name of the agent that I talked with (usually Tamika, Shakita or Tanisha), they always tell me that there's no one that works there by that name. Interesting and highly unethical billing practices. I promise you, come open enrollment...North Bay and our health insurance will no longer be a head ache to us. Shady shady shady agency!

Outside on the first floor there are various landscape art pieces and lots of different plants. On the third floor there is an outdoor courtyard with lots of raised beds filled with decorative flowers, vegetables, and even fruit trees. There is also a 1950s era Kaiser car that is in mint condition. Behind the car there is a plaque explaining the history of the car. There are also outdoor tables and chairs for patients and visitors to enjoy the courtyard. Security seems to be nonexistent here as anyone can go into the hospital which seems to be a safety issue. There are many security cameras and a sign prohibiting firearms, however there should be a check in process for authorized visitors to visit patients. There is a parking structure and parking lot under solar panels so cars are kept out of the sun. In the parking lot there is an ample amount of accessible parking. The pathway leading to the accessible spaces is much wider and there is a generous amount of room between the spaces for adequate egress.

I am writing this because there isn't much info about this place, and I had a family member in here for about 3 weeks. I wanted info, but found little, so here is my way of helping someone else who may be coming to this rough patch in the road. OVERALL: 10/10 WHERE IS IT? It's a section of the 3rd floor of the main Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo, it is not a separate building. There are 2 sections of rooms, both on the 3rd floor. One section is directly above the Labor & Delivery (2nd floor), and the other section is in the main hospital wing. PARKING: You can park in Lot 2 (open to anyone) or park in the parking garage, park closest to the elevators. Parking is free in both areas. It gets busy, so they even have a parking valet until 5pm in the main loop. WHAT HAPPENS? They will take the patient in, and the doctor will do a quick initial assessment when the patient arrives. The doctor will likely ask the patient to rest for the remainder of day. The following day is an assessment by all of the specialist departments, OT, PT, and Speech Therapy (which is also related to memory). They have a huddle and decide what would be the best plan of action for rehab, and determine an estimated discharge date. Most patients had about 2 weeks as their initial window. Depending on the progress, they could extend the therapy for an additional 5 days if they believe progress is being made, so your timeline may be extended. Ours was extended twice. DAILY: The patients are given a daily schedule of all their 30-minute therapy classes (some acronyms were new to me: OTD is OT for dressing in the morning, RME is resistance mat exercises). Weekend class schedule is different and varies per patient, usually less classes. If no family member is there to take the patient to their class, the nurses or therapists get them there. There are lines on the floor to help navigate the area: PT is red, Speech is orange, OT is green, and admin offices is brown. ROOMS: Some patients get a large private room, and some are in a quad-room which separates 4 patients by hospital curtains. Just depends on what opens up first. VISITORS: They allow one guest to stay full-time in the patient's room. You can request a pull out bed that is surprisingly comfortable. You can shower in the patient's bathroom (some have Jack & Jill bathrooms between 2 patients rooms, so be sure to lock both doors). Your loved one will likely be tired from all the therapy classes, so try to limit guests so they can rest. AMENITIES: They have a laundry room where you can bring your own HE (high efficiency) detergent, and wash clothes for free. There is a family room which is a large room with tables for families to visit with their loved one. You also could do some laptop work in there if needed. Ice and water dispensers, shared fridge so be sure to label your items, and hospital type snacks (graham crackers, soup broth, etc) The family room by the rehab gym is nicer and more well lit than the one in the other area. FOOD: There is a standard hospital cafeteria on the 1st floor. During the week they have a salad bar, hot foods, and cold foods. Weekends is a small menu. On Mondays and Fridays there is a farmer's market. Down Sereno Drive (left when exiting the hospital) are 2 grocery stores (Food Basket and 168) and a small neighborhood Walmart. If you can drive, go across 80, there are lots of food options and stores (Target, Nick the Greek, Ike's, Starbucks, Costco, DSW, Marshalls, In-n-Out, etc) LODGING: If you need to stay somewhere, the Homewood Suites in Fairfield is about a 15 minute drive up 80, from the hospital. It's equipped with a kitchen and small gym, plus free breakfast in the mornings. Park in the front, the back gets extremely dark. Leave zero items in your vehicle, and you are good. Hang in there, you got this.

From the security guard lady to the crew in the blood work department everyone was SOOOOOO nice, but Lae'Tasha and Kim in the imaging department were literally AMAZING. At the age of 56 I'm just starting my road to better health and Contra Costa Regional Medical center is where Med-Cal has assigned me. I was so so anxious after reading some of the reviews here and I'm sure there have probably been some genuine bad experiences by some patients but I couldn't imagine Lea'Tasha or Kim having ANYTHING to do with those negative experiences at this hospital. These 2 are assets to this hospital. I really could go on and on about these two. Thanks so much for instantly easing my anxiety and making me laugh.
