Wow! This place was an incredible find! Absolutely go here for a meal. Thierry, the owner, explained the menu to us, and you could sense his joy & pride at his job & the food he serves to his customers. He was a delight to meet. The food was DELICIOUS. You have to get a Kaisey! If Thierry's explanation doesn't sell you on it, I hope this does. It was SO GOOD. We tried a sweet one with strawberry and fresh whipped cream and loved it. We also got the Polish addiction, and they were some of the best pierogi I've ever had (I'm Polish; I've had a lot of pierogi). The space itself is cool. There's an old bank vault, and if you take a look inside, there are posters explaining where the recipes come from and honoring Thierry's family. It was really cute & also heartwarming. Terry talked us into having it for dessert (next time we'll ask for it to be brought out with the entrees). Stopped here for "brunch" after driving by the other day and it is a really cute place. The ambiance is great with tablecloths and cute table settings. It was not busy at all when we arrived on a Monday mid morning so we were seat immediately and the server was quick to give us a drink. She was very helpful explaining what some of the menu items were so we could make an informed decision. For our meal we had the Our Iconic Grostl and an open faced Latke - the Jambon de Paris, eggs and cheddar. The Grostl was good, tasty sausage and potatoes and the Jambon was a layer of thinly slicked ham. It was very good but the serving size was rather small for the price. Overall it has lots of options and is worth a try. I would have liked to try one of the pastries but maybe next time. read more

My wife and I went to Kaisy's Delights for brunch on our 41st anniversary. She wanted something different, somewhere we had not been before. Since we were going to be in the Millsboro, DE area, I was not sure I would find anything unique or interesting. I came across Kaisy's Delights on Yelp. The reviews were pretty good, and the most recent one I saw was about three months old. After looking at the menu and reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. When we arrived, the place immediately caught our attention. The building used to be a small bank, and the interior still has the original vault, which makes it really interesting. A young couple with a small child walked in just ahead of us, and the owner invited both of us into the vault. He showed us pictures and shared the story of his family and how the restaurant came to be, along with the inspiration behind the food. My wife ordered the Sweetie Kaiserschmarrn, and I ordered the Skier's Kaiserschmarrn. Kaiserschmarrn is a fluffy, caramelized Austrian shredded pancake, often called Emperor's Mess. It is made from a thick batter with separated eggs, torn into pieces while cooking, and served with powdered sugar and fruit. It has a light, almost soufflé-like texture. My order also came with two sausages. The meal was excellent. The owner was very interactive and enjoyable to talk with. My wife and I both grew up around restaurants, so we tend to notice the details. The place was very clean. The table setting and dining ware were simple and nice. The presentation of the Kaiserschmarrn looked like a mess, which is exactly how it is supposed to look, and it tasted wonderful. We really enjoyed both the food and the conversation. Hearing the owner's story and how he got to where he is today made the experience even better. I would highly recommend giving Kaisy's Delights a try. There are a few more items on the menu I would like to try, and we will be going back. read more

We were just passing through on our way back to Long island......Incredible place.... interesting menu....great people.!!!! I had a BLT Benedict for breakfast....very different but very tasty as well with a European flair. And because of the European twist, the owner takes time, pride and passion in describing the different food item/category on the menu. ...I had to grab something to go for the ride home. if you're looking for an OMG reaction.....you must have the Croque Monsieur!!!!!!! Michelin take note: Kaisy's is a true gem, and the owner Thierry is pure class. I was on a trip back north with my mother in law when we asked ChatGPT for "the best lunch spot on the way back from Virginia Beach to New Jersey", and it gave us Kaisy's. We had high expectations going in, but those expectations were absolutely blown away by every aspect of our visit. The Goulash Soup served cold, the Quiche Lorraine, the Kaiserschmarrn- it was all exceptional and unique. Almost as exceptional and unique as the owner himself! Due to us misunderstanding his operating hours, Thierry was already closed by the time we arrived- but he opened the door to greet us and personally made us a late lunch after inviting us into the spacious historic build. Then, after lunch and a great conversation with Thierry, he brought us to the vault (Kaisy's was, at one point, a bank), to walk us through his family history and how Kaisy's came to be. What an experience. We made our goodbyes with a promise to make Kaisy's a yearly stop on our way back from Virginia Beach, and we thought we wouldn't hear from Thierry until then. But as it turned out, I left my wallet on the table! Thierry ended up personally mailing my wallet back to my home address, asking nothing in return. I am absolutely floored by this entire experience and I truly believe Kaisy's should be a Michelin recognized restaurant. It has the quality, the exceptionalism, the care, the "extra mile", and the little touches that make you feel like you're in a different world, if only for the duration of a lunch. Kaisy's isn't what it used to be. There seems to have been a significant change in either ownership, or management. This Millsboro location is stark inside, which is a huge contrast to the "tea room" warmth of the old location. Half the menu includes potato Latkes, and they "ran out" after being open for only 2 hours. Food is OK, but eggs were undercooked (we had to scrape off raw uncooked egg white). Only one person working in front, and he was bouncing around like a crazy person with only 3 tables occupied. We placed our "latke-free" order, and he still had to go back to the kitchen to confirm if what we ordered could even be made. We were then told that most of his staff had quit (which is not surprising, because the guy in charge seemed to be completely incompetent) We used to go to the old location fairly often before it closed, but I doubt I'd return to this new one again - it's a shame, because Kaisy's used to be such a treat. read more

What a delightful and delicious dining experience! We just savored every bit of our appetizers, soup, entrees, desserts, and drinks! When we first arrived, we were instantly charmed by the gracious proprietor, Thierri. who warmly welcomed us. He first led us into the bank vault where we learned about his fascinating, family history and his amazing Aunt Ruth that inspired so many offerings in their combination of European (Austrian, French and Polish) inspired dishes. We were pleasantly surprised to realize it was the soft opening of their dinner menu. We so enjoyed the setting in the beautifully restored old Bank building and the wonderful service and hospitality, as well as their exquisite cuisine. The vichyssoise was like heaven as was the onion and leak tart. Make sure not to skip one of the mouth watering Austrian Kaiserschmarnn desserts. Extremely well done authentic European food from many countries. The people here and the history make it a very pleasant surprise. It is in a historic bank building and they have a history exhibit about the food and their family in the vault. Simply and excellently done diversion from mass produced food and I plan to come back many times. I saw a note about validated parking and almost stayed away worried about having to fight for parking on a busy summer afternoon but there is PLENTY of free parking all around including a big lot right across the street. Can't wait to bring friends and family. Note to the owner about the non-alcoholic wines I mentioned. What an incredible find! Don't miss this tiny small-town gem with impeccably white tablecloths, fresh flowers, and a hospitable staff serving food transported straight from the slopes of an Austrian ski town. The coffee menu is extensive (try the spiced maple syrup in your latte) and the namesake dish, Kaiserschmarrn, should not be missed: a sort of hybrid of a pancake and funnel cake, it's crispy outside and fluffy inside, served in delightfully irregular pieces, showered with powdered sugar and served with a dish of tart plum jam and a mountain of sweetened whipped cream. You'd be crazy not to order one. The owner is Austrian and very personable. He took a few minutes to tell the story of his ancestry: he offers dishes from Poland and France as well, in keeping with his heritage. Wanting to try some of everything, we ordered a croque-monsieur and pierogies too; I never even got a bite of my husband's sandwich, since it was gone so fast, but my pierogies were some of the best I've ever had -- crunchy shells holding fluffy cheesy potatoes, paired with sautéed onions and sour cream. They have quite a few dessert / pastry options as well as entrees better suited to a large lunch / dinner, but our coffee / brunch stop was absolutely perfect and we will look for an excuse to visit again! read more

A gem in the middle of Millsboro, DE! After living here 2 years, I decided to try something new. I will be a frequent flyer as often as I can sneak in for some "me" time. A great add-on as I go to the Post Office, Bank, or other errands. It's going to be my little secret to try everything on the menu. I was guided on this trip by Thierry whose recipes and recommendations were perfection - Vermont Latte, Ratatouille, and a pastry to go. I chose the safe quiche Lorraine to begin this journey. We stopped late Thursday morning for coffee and a late breakfast. There were a dozen other diners enjoying coffee and a bite to eat when we arrived. We were immediately greeted and the owner provided the very interesting of the history that led to Kaisey's Delights! The Vienna cold brew coffee was delicious!, as usual! I had the Croque Monsieur and it was exquisitely prepared and impeccably presented and it was ever so delicious! He also explained the restaurant to us as well. As for the food , 2 of us got the ham and swiss omellet along with potatoes, 2 got sausage, eggs and potatoes, and 1 got the smoked salmon open sandwich. Everything came out quicky and was outstanding. The coffee was fresh brewed for us and came out in a pink pourer. I would definately go back as there are things on the menu that I would like to try. Love the 100+ year old bank setting, cloth table linens, beautiful bar, amazing Hostess/waitress Erica, and the amazing food. We stopped here on way home from Chincoteague. This place is great! We wanted to try everything! We had the Janlo. Omelet and the avocado toast and cleaned our plates, which is something Rarely done! Simply delicious, everything perfectly seasoned.
