We've been coming here for years, and it's a place our family looks forward to visiting every year. The food is always delicious, and there are so many great options to choose from. Some of my favorites are the homemade creamed chipped beef, which is excellent on either biscuits or toast. I also love Joey's French Toast with peanut butter and banana--it's always a treat. The kids we had with us they order the pancakes and enjoy them. If we're not very hungry in the morning, we'll often stop in for one of their fresh pastries instead. The glazed donuts, danishes, muffins, and cinnamon rolls are all fantastic. Well we thought we would give them another chance but third time was far from a charm! We walked in and there were two seats at the end of the bar but there was a silverware tray on the bar. We asked the guy if we could sit there and he said sure and moved the silverware tray and gave us menus. Tina came down and said oh no no no!!!! Took away the menus and put the tray back up and said i can't have this!!! My husband said this is two years in a row you have thrown us out of here! I've been here many times before. This time and the last were similar. Only this time the product was bad in addition to the the service. We entered the diner to witness an elderly couple being spoken to as if they were garbage. My son an I approached the counter to be immediately barked at about their cash only policy. We told the woman working we wanted a half dozen donuts. We pointed out those we wanted most of which we had to repeat and she placed them in the box. Staying attentive for your only customer isn't that difficult. She then tells me that my total is $25, donuts are listed as $2.25/each or $13.50. Not, we also got a chocolate croissant. I guess that was an $11.50 croissant? We took our pastries and returned home. Only to find that everything that we got was day old product! Don't waste your time here. We have been coming here for five years and decided today we won't be back.... Not sure what happened but service and food quality have been declining over the past year. Sat at the counter this morning and had two eggs grits and a cup of fruit with (refillable) iced tea to drink. My husband had a western omelet, home fries and a cup of (bottomless) coffee. Food was just so/so. Fruit was legit bottom of the bowl...the juice in the bottom of my cup was BROWN. Omelet was very sparsely filled... we never were asked to have our drinks refilled never asked what kind of toast we wanted and when I asked for a to-go cup the blonde (who has been there a while) handed me a cup to put my iced tea in. It didn't even fill half of the cup so I asked her for a refill to-go. Asked for the check.... She simply said $39 is your bill. The service was great considering only one server and it started getting busy. Brought Mom to have some breakfast. She ordered the chipped beef over biscuits ( yeah toast is better). She enjoyed it and even had some to bring home to have another small breakfast. Recommend for breakfast. I think as another recent review mentioned, they seemed a tad short staffed when we went but service was still fine. Food was very good and portions generous. While out and about decided to get some breakfast. Been living nearby for almost 3 years and never been here! It reminded me of an old school local NJ Diner. Prices were reasonable for the portion size. I had the Western Omelet with cheddar cheese, home fries (other option is grits) and toast. The Omelet was huge! I couldn't even finish it. OK, let me start with this places even below mediocre. The service was really really long and the food as you could tell by the picture was not very good. Coffee is hot, regularly topped off and included in your breakfast (something that is pretty novel these days!) It's a diner, so for me, the eggs are always under spiced (just a little salt and pepper, that is all I am asking for!) But their waffles looked gorgeous, piled with fresh fruit so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. This restaurant is kind of a staple for us at the beach. Always great food, great service. Our waitress was one of the best. They also seem to have a lot of staff helping clear the tables and bring drinks out. Everything was fast, efficient, and helpful. We also like the diner feel with the televisions, counter, and cute down home decorations. Only place we went to where we didn't even have to wait for a table. Food was great. Gravy is loaded with sausage with a delicious peppery flavor. on a scale of 1 - 10 they go up to 11. Buttermilk pancakes and Belgian waffles are great. If you are at the MD/DE beaches, start your day at Dirty Harry's. It was the bright spot on a drizzling gray day. The staff is so polite, Christina was the sweetest. Just the worst! Food took 45 minutes to come out, the chicken looked pink and the fries looked like they took it off someone else's plate. I never got the ketchup but it didn't matter, I left without eating any food. I paid, tipped the waitress well. The worst of it was the whole time I was there, creepy old men sat at the counter and turned to look at me directly. Just stared at me! I did my best to ignore them. Had breakfast with 4 friends. The service from Tricia was outstanding, she was unflappable despite our, how should I say, our overwhelmingly friendly nature. Darryl, one of the family of the owners stopped to answer our buddy's litany of curious musings! He then dropped of a free plate of mini poptart like pastries for us to try! Yum and TY! The blueberry muffin I got was chock full of blueberries, buttery and sugar-kissed. Everyone raved about their breakfast and the sausage was an especially big hit! Family favorite. Eat here ever time we come into town. Service is always quick and friendly. Breakfast is always good.

What a breakfast place should be, nothing fancy, just great service and good food. Everything we had was homemade and the price was in line with what you would expect, maybe a little better if I may say so. We had an omelette made with three eggs, onions and mushrooms with a side of home fries and scrambled eggs, home fries and a biscuit with two drinks for $19. You really can't beat that at a beach resort. Don't forget to save room for some of the homemade donuts! read more

We are so happy that we tried Dirty Harry's! It's conveniently located off Route 1 in Fenwick Island. It was open on the day of a snowstorm, and that was great for us! Their breakfast choices are plentiful. We had omelettes--a cheesesteak omelette and the crab omelette. The homefries are great, and so are th homemade (warm) biscuits! Dirty Harry's has a friendly staff and a hometown diner feel. We didn't have a chance to try the baked goods--but they look FANTASTIC!! Check it out. You won't be disappointed! read more

Stopped by Saturday, June 8 and was seated as soon as we walked in. I mention the date because it's not likely to be as uncrowded the rest of the summer. The wait staff was friendly, courteous, and attentive. Menu choices were good and you need to pay attention to the chalkboard at the end of the counter for specials. Biscuits were hot and fresh. Wife loved that coffee; I would have preferred stronger but that's not a bad thing. Pancakes were fluffy and tender. Eggs over medium were done as requested. Portions were generous. All their prices are, somehow, rounded to the nearest dollar. I think it's because of the lack of sales tax in Delaware. I'd be surprised if you aren't impressed. read more

Was greeted at the host stand by an old grouchy lady that stated I couldn't bring any pets into the place. We have a small parrot that was in a carrier. I guess that's the policy so we decided to ask for a takeout order and I sat with the bird by the front door. I was then asked to leave and sit outside by a different old, grouchy lady. No problem, I've been 86'd out of better establishments. So I'm noticing many other folks going in and getting their takeouts before us so I'm guessing the entire establishment of grouchy, old ladies were on the rag but then realized they probably don't have that issue anymore since they were all classic model women. Soooo, we finally get our breakfast order and took it back to our hotel next door. Food wasn't that great at all. For a place that prides themselves on being a quality diner, we were not impressed. Needless to say, we won't ever go back there again as Dirty Harry did not 'make my day'. We had The Best breakfast here!! So, so good. Homemade chipped beef gravy, home fries, eggs..everyday breakfast you can get anywhere but 5 stars here. It's also a bakery. Legit Homemade food and bakery items. I had pics but you can't make gravy look pretty so I'm not adding it to my review. :) . 5 people at our table my check was under $60 (before tip) for a great time eating great food. I have NEVER given a review like this but needed others to be aware!! This experience was all around dreadful! We were greeted by a lady in a Halloween witch costume ... thinking WooHoo this is going to be great! The counter area was decorated too! UNFORTUNATELY it was NOT that kind of experience! First the coffee was very weak ... I noticed it looking transparent as she poured! After 20 minutes she took our order ... I ordered eggs Benedict and my husband ordered "garbage omelet" ... lol kind of an everything omelet .. after 30 minutes in and looking around she walked by to say your food is coming! It was exactly ONE HOUR until our food was served!!! No explanation just brought it out! The eggs Benedict were tasteless, watery and unappetizing! (I wish I would have taken pictures!) The hash browns were cold! My husband's omelet was just ok... his grits also tasteless! I asked for the check right away! Another 15 minutes went by but no check! So I layed $40 on the table and said we needed to leave! Needless to say we were so sad with our experience at this restaurant!!! The wait for a table wasn't long but the wait for food was so long it was almost lunch when it came out. Was told they were out of fruit but somehow the table next to us managed to order pancakes with bananas on them? We came here because Jimmy's was packed. We wanted to like this place, but it was a huge disappointment. We waited far longer than I had patience for to get our food, and then it came out cold. I watched people who came in after us get served before us, which is always aggravating. And our cold food was not tasty at all. The home fries were just sliced potatoes with no taste. The "Garbage" omelet ... well, I guess the name fit pretty well. It tasted sweet, probably from the peppers, and was not appetizing at all. We were inside this place for 90 minutes, mostly sitting around waiting, and then not enjoying our food. I would never go back, and encourage you not to go here either. read more

Great breakfast, just get there early. I had the corned beef hash with eggs. Hard to go wrong! A couple of weeks back, on the advice of a friend, I ordered a coconut cake ($30) and picked it up two days later. OMG! It was huge and truly awesome! Since I live alone it took me almost two weeks to finish it, but finish it I did. Just ask them what cakes they have, and they will make one for you too. Apparently they also have slices, but I've never seen any in the case. In short, an awesome place with a name that sounds like a bar, but is in fact a great breakfast place and bakery.
