The customer service is also very responsive and friendly I only give 4 stars because unless you have high value furnitures 4-5k+ it is best for you to first try to sell it on your own. Do NOT use them. While the concept is good, I have been very disappointed in the outcome. My leather sofa which was originally listed for $8,000 was sold and I was told I would get 35% of the proceeds. But two weeks later it started showing up as "processing". When I called they told me that the sofa did not fit in the purchaser's space and was returned. It has been two months now and it is still showing up as "processing" and customer service has yet to give me an explanation. My only positive experience was with the guys who picked up my furniture. read more

No one offered white glove service, but Kaiyo did an excellent job and was on time with great service and updates. This is for the delivery service portion of our purchase through Kaiyo. Furniture was delivered from east coast warehouse to our residence in San Diego, CA. Day of delivery we received a courtesy phone call informing of delivery arrival. Upon arrival two young gentlemen, Chi and Sal were very respectful and cautious of their surrounding the entire time. They were alway precautious to make sure everything was covered and padded during the installation. Installation and positioning of our furniture was to our final approval. Do not try to sell through Kaiyo. I felt like it was a scam. They originally accepted my couch, came to my house and finished the inspection, and in the process of moving the couch into their van the drivers brought the couch back into the house and said they could no longer accept the couch because the locking mechanism allegedly did not work, which was inaccurate. I showed the drivers the locking mechanism functioning properly. Then, the drivers spoke with dispatch and sent in a video, and then dispatch and customer service said it would cost $70 to take the couch. They also try to charge you $70 to "guarantee pick up" when you first set your appointment, which is incredibly shady in my opinion. You are better off donating your couch to a charity so that the charity can put it to good use (and secondarily for the tax write off). Don't waste your time with these scam artists. read more

They were polite and friendly and unbothered by my curious little digs. The chairs were wrapped in strong soft material and were placed exactly where I wanted them . Kaiyo Robbed My Furniture. I say this figuratively, but the end result was tantamount to a robbery. If you want to get the worst value on the furniture that you sell, Kaiyo will do this for you. Let me tell you my case. I wanted to leave the country quickly to move and retire to South America. I had two mint condition complete bedroom suites to sell, even at a used price was worth $2500. I decided to place my two bedroom sets on Craigslist and I was willing to sell at a discount for $1500. Thinking I was going to be able to move my furniture faster, I came across Kaiyo on a used furniture website list. I uploaded my photos to Kaiyo. Let me tell you how they work. They will post your photos on their website and in about a week or so, your photos will be seen by their visitors, and you will be paid the selling price (minus of course their commission.) The other angle that they offer is their "Instant Cash Offer." Here is where they take you to the cleaners. Whether to decide to wait and sell through their website or receive the "Instant Cash Offer," they will have to go over to your place, disassemble your furniture and take it to their warehouse, which is what they did after a couple of days of my arranging for them to come over and pick it up. I was in need of moving fast on the sale of my furniture, and I kept asking, "If I accept your 'Instant Cash Offer,' roughly how much can I get on these two furniture suites." "Uh Hum, well, I really can't say, but it will be significantly less than if you wait and put your furniture up on our website for sale." "Can you at least give me a rough percentage of how much I will get?" "I'm sorry. It depends on various factors, so I can't really say." So, I bit, since they already disassembled and had my furniture in their warehouse and were surely not going to bring it back and reassemble it without charging me an arm an a leg, I said, "Okay. I will accept your 'Instant Cash Offer." How much do you think that they paid me? Go ahead. Guess. $1200? $1000? $500? Not even close. They paid me a whopping $125 -- for two complete bedroom sets! And their "Instant" Cash Offer took a WEEK to process! Do yourself a favor. Post and sell on either Craigslist or Upsell. Even if I had offered and got $500 or $600 on Craigslist, I would have still come out ahead. If you want to avoid losing practically the complete value of the sale of your furniture -- stay away from Kaiyo like the plague! read more
