WAGYU ROAST BEEF ABURASOBA HOMURA ABURASOBA
    Sylvia K.

Came here for the first time. Always saw a line out at the San Mateo chain. Happy they opened one closer to home. There was no wait at 7pm on a weekday. We got seated all the way in the back by the wall. But while sitting there for 10 min, there was 3 little bugs got on me and i got scared so we went up and asked for a change of table and the staff was nice about it. We got a top 1 and top 3 and also a matcha latte with oatmilk. The matcha latte was quite foamy and the sweetness was perfect. Strong matcha taste and hope I can sleep tonight ! The 2 aburasobas were very yummy the Wagyu had 2 pieces that were quite chewy but the rest was tender. Will definitely come back!

I'm a huge fan of Kajiken and was happy to see that they opened another location in the Bay Area. I visited on a Monday shortly after they opened and there was plenty of seating. I ordered the wagyu roast beef aburasoba for togo and it came out within 10 minutes. I had it shortly after and although the noodles were a little stuck together, a little bit of vinegar and patience helped. I wish the roast beef was a little bit less cooked but that's my preference. I was so happy they packed all the topping fixings on the side as the San Mateo location did not when I last placed a togo order. The noodles were just as good as I last remembered despite it being togo. Highly recommend giving this spot a try! The creamy noodles with the flavorful side fixings such as vinegar and chili oil is to die for. Best dry ramen ever!

Ramen/ noodle spot in Dublin that specialize in dry or brothless noodles. I think they're Michelin recognized and are a chain from Japan with a few locations in the US now. The particular spot that I went to is in Dublin, California. Came here with some family. The space was bright and airy. The folks here are friendly and the service is great. I ordered the specialty. I mixed everything up to get even a small emulsion from the ingredients and the noodles were chewy with the flavors providing lots of umami. When you're done with your noodles and you still have some of the umami flavors left in your bowl, they offer you some rice to mix in. We also ordered some takoyaki to share. I personally didn't eat the app only because I stopped eating octopus, but it looked really good. Just a great spot and a great addition to the neighborhood. Parking was really easy to find as well

Kajiken is a noodle spot that specializes in abura soba, a dry ramen. I've been to Kajiken's other NorCal locations in Elk Grove and San Mateo. This Kajiken is a little hidden in a small plaza with other businesses. Service was amazing! We were greeted and seated immediately. Our servers answered all our questions and tended to us quickly. My party ordered the takoyaki to share which had a crispy shell and gooey inside topped with the usual sauces. As for main dishes, ordered the Homura Aburasoba while my partner ordered the Shio Aburasoba (their may special). The Homura feature's a savory sauce which was slightly spicy. I added a little vinegar to add some tang. The shio aburasoba featured a salt based sauce with notes of sesame and chicken. It was overall a creamier with a hint of chicken flavor. Both were delicious! This may be something new to me for Kajiken, but at the end of the meal, our server said we could get a bowl of rice at the end to mix with the leftover sauce and mix-ins. This was a nice addition! It really stretches the meal and makes sure your bowl of leftover things doesn't go to waste.

Came in on a Wednesday night and we got seated understatedly. Parking in the plaza but the plaza is on the small side. We didn't have issues with parking. This place is really good. Loved the chicken and the original aburasoba was super well priced. They also give you free rice at the end to eat with the leftover sauce. Would come back!

My sister and parents came here on soft opening day and didn't have the most pleasant experience, so they refused to come back...so I came to see for myself LOL. They have a parking lot, but it's very tight to maneuver in. Next time I'll park in the Mayflower lot across the street and walk over! My friend and I arrived for a late 7:30pm dinner on a Friday night, and they squeezed us in at the last table for 2 so it definitely can get crowded/might have a wait time. Homura Aburasoba ($17.50): The top 1 menu item in big letters; easy enough for me so I don't have decision fatigue lol. This is similar to dan dan noodle as it has spicy minced pork, and the raw egg is a yummy addition! Can sub for a poached egg. It has all my favorite ingredients of seaweed, chives, green onions, so I knew I'd love it. Noodles were also chewy! I added some vinegar and chili oil offered on the side for more of a kick. I'm going to convince my family to try this place one more time!! I'll get one of the karaage appetizers next time :)

Megami Aburasoba was so good!! The tofu was fried perfectly, the veggies on the side were delicious, and the portion size was great. The hiyayakko tofu was a nice and refreshing appetizer. I got take out so I'm not sure about the service and dining in but the food was very good. Packaged nicely too :)

Excellent place to get Aburasoba (dry ramen)! I've been here multiple times and it never disappoints. It definitely tastes better fresh and in the restaurant, because you can add all the toppings you want to enhance it. Service is great and there always seems to be a line. However since there were only 2 of us, we got to skip all the larger parties and barely had to wait! I've tried the top 1-3 aburasoba, and my favorite so far is the Wagyu Roast Beef. Pricy but the rest is almost $20 already...so why not splurge a little extra for the wagyu!

Staff was super friendly. I liked how they had plates/cups for kids. Plenty of space inside and feels very open. We ordered A couple of the aburasoba dishes - original and homura. Both were very flavor and delicious. We ordered the Chashu rice and kaarage for the kids and they loved it. Would definitely come back when in the area.

My daughter and I were about to catch a flight back to SoCal so we wanted to grab lunch. We remembered Kajiken while visiting Seattle but didn't get a chance to try it. Seeing that Dublin now has its own Kajiken, we wanted to check it out and see how it compares to our SoCal Menya Hanabi. Unlike traditional ramen, Kajiken serves dry ramen and mixes with raw egg. After finishing up the ramen, you'll get a free scoop of rice to mix in with the leftover meat and sauce. It's a very filling meal. Here are some of the similarities and differences between Kajiken and Menya Hanabi: 1. Kajiken's meat has a slight kick to it while Menya Hanabi has more soy sauce base. Menya Hanabi might be more kid friendly than Kajiken. Kajiken's meat wasn't spicy but my daughter was drinking a lot of water as it's a little too spicy for her even though the spiciness was mild. 2. Both Kajiken and Menya Hanabi offer the free scoop of rice at the end of the meal. 3. Taste wise, my daughter and I prefer Menya Hanabi over Kajiken. I wanted to thank Angie for a great service. Her explanation on the spiciness of the meat was spot on. I took videos on mixing ramen and rice, but one of the videos was "video"-bombed with gyoza! Overall, my daughter and I were happy that we got to catch Kajiken before we had to go home.

We've been wanting to try Kajiken in San Mateo but have not had a chance to. When we saw a closer location had opened we decided to check it out. We dropped by on a Monday evening and it was not busy at all. Restaurant was very clean and spacious, I loved how they even had a diagram on the wall on the recommended way to mix/eat their brothless ramen. We had the Megami vegetarian noodles, the Homura, and a beef bowl. Beef bowl came out real quick, soft boiled egg with onion sauce over rice with some diced cold roast beef, green onions, and yogurt sauce. I did not realize the beef would be cold, but the warm rice and soft boiled egg provided an interesting temperature contrast with the beef. The taste was fine, the yogurt sauce and the onion sauces were very flavorful but I'm still not quite sure if I enjoyed the temp difference. I will have to try it again to make a final decision. Homura aburasoba was great, thicker chewier noodles in a very umami/rich sauce, almost like a concentrated gravy. All mixed with a generous helping of minced pork. The richness of the sauce is cut by the freshly chopped chives and green onions. You also get a free bowl of rice after you finish your noodles to soak up the sauce. Honestly plenty to eat when combined with the free rice. My partner liked her vegetarian noodles and our toddler who is usually a picky eater could not stop slurping down the noodles. I think the prices for the amount of food you get are reasonable reasonable. Our server was also very helpful in explaining the menu and checking in on us throughout the meal. We will be back!

Noodles are off the hook I was so excited about mixing the sauces into the noodles and forgot to take a beautiful picture of the spicy minced pork with a poach egg Texture of the dish is smooth and tasty with all vinegar and chili oils, sesame seeds. Th Wagyu beef is tender and on top you could order extra rice to soak up the remaining sauces from the noodles. Services are great as well. Definitely a food edition to the east bay.

Came here cuz I was staying at the hotel within walking distance.... This place is near a bunch of restaurants right across from the newer Dublin High School.... Service was good....Food was really flavorful and the noodles were pretty good as well... I guess their specialty is a soupless ramen....and I would highly recommend trying this place out..... I got the Megami Aburasoba which is fried tofu, bok choy, egg plant, onions in a super flavorful sauce....I would say the only thing that I can complain about is too much sauce.... I heard some people get rice so they can finish off the sauce....so I guess that sauce as well.... Recommended to try for sure

A $15 bowl of ramen, with great portion and great flavor (compared to other bigger cities who overcharge and give significantly less)? How can I not be happy? Albeit I am a vegetarian and I got the veggie ramen with tofu, mushrooms, corn, bean sprouts and a boiled egg on the side. I also opted for the creamy version of their veggie broth and loved it. Ramen noodles were great and cooked well too. I feel like I can go to ramen spots who disappoint me easily when it ventures too far out of the norm, and this was an easy meal that was quick, reliable, and hit the spot. I haven't tried their other options though I do know they offer other Hawaiian bbq staples (I saw a number of people ordering those to-go). Not sure how those are... but I'm happy to report their ramen does the job. Happy gals!

The miso soup was very good and not salty like most. The salad had a vinaigrette dressing with an herb I can't put my finger on. It was very refreshing.
