    Finger Roll (6 Pc)

Wifey was craving for Thai food and chose New Thai Bistro based on Yelp reviews. Arrived here right before they opened at 11 am and were the first patrons. Firstly, internet connection isn't good inside or slow. Just FYI. So we thought we were gonna go for their lunch specials but the choices weren't to our liking. Mostly curry dishes. We went à la carte and got finger rolls, pad Thai beef and citrus chicken fried rice. Finger rolls had pork and shrimp. It was good but nothing too out of the ordinary in taste. 3 stars Pad Thai beef- we both liked it. Not a lot of garnish or peanuts or green onions on the side. Still tasty and not greasy: 5 stars Citrus chicken over fried rice. Kinda reminded me of chicken katsu. Didn't get the citrus taste but I still enjoyed it and would get it again: had a Mayo dipping sauce . 5 stars Service was okay. Can't say the guy who took our order did anything special. But later, the Thai lady who seem to be cook came to our table to see if we wanted boxes to go and gave our check was nice. Indian server (3 stars). Thai lady (5 stars) Having been to many Thai restaurants including in Thailand, this place ranks top 10 of places I've tried. Would come again

Came by a little after they opened for lunch. We were greeted and seated right away. They have some Thai decorations and they have a bar with some string lights and upside down umbrellas. They have an outdoor patio area and the shared lot makes parking a breeze. They have lunch specials and a full menu for lunch. Items ordered: Tom kha with chicken and side salad- Soup had plenty of protein but was on the sweet side and i did not like the salad dressing. Thai iced tea- A tad too sweet for my liking Roti trio appetizer- As expected Chicken pad thai- A tad too sweet and the chicken was a little dry. Mango sticky rice- Cute presentation and taste was as expected. Service was good and they checked on us during our meal at least twice.

The food here was so tasty. Perfect for a thai craving. The service was so accommodating and amazing. They checked up on us a few times and it was nice. Chatted for a bit. Felt very local and cozy! The guava drink and thai drink was pleasantly nice. I wasn't sure how a thai tea drink would taste without the creaminess, but it was light and refreshing! Chicken satay was delicious, essentially yellow curry marinated chicken. Loved the yellow curry, my most favorite dish. Wasn't too much coconut but also not too much curry powder. Fried rice was pleasant, usually its a little strong flavor for me at other thai restaurants. So it was perfect for me. Citrus chicken was good, didn't taste much of the citrus - only as leftovers I did taste it. Not too big of a fan of their tom yum because I prefer more sour soup, but it's pretty good. I want to come again to try their desserts for sure!

Recently ordered the spicy thai basil fried rice with tofu and vegetables and it was pretty good and not that spicy and pretty tasty. Just gave one star less as hardly got any pieces of tofu and more of the cabbage in the order.

10/10! This place was amazing from start to finish! The service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely delicious. We started with the Finger Rolls, and they were hands down one of the best appetizers we've had. Definitely a must-order! For our entrées, we had the Spicy Basil Fried Rice, which definitely lived up to its name--it was really spicy but packed with incredible flavor. We also ordered the Yellow Curry (medium spice), and let's just say both my fiancée and I were coughing from the heat--but that's exactly what I asked for! The spice didn't take away from the flavor at all. It was rich, comforting, and so good. I also tried the Lychee Martini, and it was fantastic! Just a heads-up, they don't serve hard liquor--only sake and wine--but they still have some great drink options. The restaurant was very clean, located in a safe area, and had a welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed everything we ordered and are already looking forward to coming back to try more dishes. Highly recommend!

pad kee mao : good flavor, but too saucy

Not my first choice for thai food in the area but still satisfies the cravings Papaya salad: no shrimp, flavors are ok but needs garlic 7/10 Khao soi: not used to a style without some egg noodle in it , my door dash order also did not have lime. The dish needs it otherwise it is too sweet, chicken overcooked and dry bc using breast meet 6/10 Pad kee mao: not bad but ratio of veggies to noodles lacking, beef tough to chew , 7/10 Green curry: little on the salty side def need eat this one with rice 6.5/10 I would still eat here if I had to but not my first choice

We drove from SJ to Baypoint and wanted to pick up a few dishes for lunch. The decor was very cute. They opened at 11am. We Doordash to pick up and the food was ready in 25 mins. The portion size was decent and good customer service. we ordered the pad thai, Penang curry, fried rice, fat noodle? and fried chili fish. I forgot to take a picture of the food. My kids and family said the food tasted average and there was nothing that really stood out.

Lunch special combo (finger roll & Penang curry with chicken) & pad thai with fried chicken
    Sandy Q.

A friend and I was planing to meet up for lunch but since she had to go back to work afterwards, I decided to pick a restaurant that's closer to her office. After reviewing Yelp reviews, I settled on this place. We choose pad thai with fried chicken, lunch special combo (finger roll & Penang curry with chicken), mango sticky rice, and one Thai iced tea (for my friend). The food was just mediocre. The fried chicken was super dry as if it was previously cooked and then re-fried. The pad thai noodles was too chewy (needed to be cooked longer). Instead of a red color, Penang curry was yellowish-orange, while the chicken breast was also super dry. The sticky rice was hard and it came with a watered down coconut milk concoction ( you cannot taste a hint of coconut flavor). Meanwhile, the mango was perfectly sweet and ripe but the portions were small. The only thing we enjoyed was the finger roll. After seeing what it looked like, we now understand why it was called finger roll. It was literally the size of our finger. Our food arrived before the Thai tea so we had to remind them that we ordered a drink. For a place that only had 2 occupied tables, customer service was lacking. When we walked in, no one greeted us, even though they saw us standing in front of them when we arrived. Also, the cushion from the chair that I sat on was already deflated so when I sat down, I literally fell into a hole.

Clean and great service. They were quick! Orange chicken was very good, crispy and sweet and pieces of orange peel were in there to heighten the flavor. Yummy rice. Wrapped shrimp also cooked well, crispy and delicious. Not a fan of their Thai tea's unique flavors, sorry I'm used to the traditional style. Thank you I'll be back!!!

Just had a wonderful lunch at New Thai. This is our favorite place when we treat ourselves to lunch. Wonderful service and delicious food.

Came here on a last minute reservation to celebrate a family birthday. They took our large group and we had the biggest table in the dining room. One star off because there was some miscommunication and unorganized way of taking orders. They did not assign any seat numbers so it became confusing when dishes would come out. The servers tried their best, food wasn't my favorite but it was decent. I believe many dishes were too bland for my liking and lacked flavor. I wish there was more spice level but maybe it's because we didn't order properly. My favorite dish was the red curry and crab fried rice. I loved the Mango sticky rice, great presentation although it's a small portion size.

So, since I wasn't able to find a check in for that market, I had to come here to sing their praises. 6 Vegan Potstickers at the market are $13. I recommend spending the $1 for chili oil. Not sure what they charge at the restaurant for these fried pockets of deliciousness, but I tell you if these taste this good at a farmers market, packaged in a box, and I wait 10 minutes before I find a seat in the hospital cafeteria, and it still tastes this good, the restaurant must be out of this world. The wrapper has a great thickness and offers a sticky and chewy bite. Pan fried still comes out after having these steam in a to go box, so the restaurant would probably make these pan fried babies have even more texture. Comes with a dipping sauce, but combine it with the chili oil if you can handle a little heat and Yes Chef!! I heard they are at the SF Ferry Building Market on Saturday and Walnut Creek Farmers Market on Sunday. Double check those, but finding a great vegan potsticker is not easy.

It was early dinner time on a Friday evening and it wasn't overly crowded. All 6 of us got different items and overall it's a matter of preference for what kind of broth and protein you'd like that depicts the meal, the toppings are generally all the same. Consider this place to almost be a "make your own ramen" type of thing, in that you're given a platter of toppings to add to your bowl of steaming hot broth, mix it and let it sit, then voila! It's ready to eat. For a rainy winter evening, it was perfect to have some tasty noodle soup!

The service was really good, they are super on top of cleaning and serving so my food came out in about 15-20 minutes. I got the combo with an appetizer, drink, and noodle soup. The portions were pretty generous. -grapefruit tea: thought it was pretty yummy! I also tried out the super fruit tea and i really liked it but personally found it to be a little too sweet. Not too much to displease though! I mixed some water and it was perfect for me. -tomato beef brisket noodle soup: i was surprised by how tender the meat was and how much they actually give you. If you love tomato soups as much as i do then it's definitely a great option! -takoyaki & lamb skewers: my sister had one dish from her combo order and i has my own but was able to try both! The lamb skewers were a bit smaller than expected but were flavorful with a fragrant aroma. The takoyaki came in about 5 balls and while they didn't include all typical takoyaki toppings it was still pretty good considering it came as a combo! Overall, i really loved coming by this place, my main concern is that it's actually in a pretty busy plaza so parking can be a little difficult during peak business hours. Otherwise it's located in a really great area relatively close to some shopping areas such as the Livermore outlets or even other smaller shopping plazas. Give this place a try if you're in the area and looking for a good eat without breaking the wallet!
