    Absolutely awesome

Kal's is inside the RO Farmer's Market. I highly recommend Kal's! I had the chicken, hummus and garlic. Everything was great! Did you know they're also open during the week for lunch. Good, fair priced fare is my way to go for lunch during the work week. This is the spot.

The BEST! My usual is a falafel wrap and lentil soup. Always perfect and full of flavor. Owners and staff incredibly friendly. Highly recommend you pay them a visit today!

So delicious!! My friend ordered the falafel and I had the chicken shawarma wrap. Price was much more reasonable than other Mediterranean/middle eastern restaurants. We thought that our wraps would be small but nope, nice size and super filling. My wrap was so tasty. Seasoning was made with perfection. Definitely a solid place for lunch or to grab a quick bite.

I love this place. Easy, quick, healthy, and extremely tasty. It's my go to the days I am at Henry Ford Royal Oak. Kal and his crew are also so friendly. My favorite place to go when I'm working at Royal Oak. Portions are also very generous.

Kal's is the best! Food is always good. I love the bowls, the shawarma fries, and the hummus. It's easy to order online and the stop by to pick up. Service is always friendly. It's conveniently located inside of the farmer's market and has a few seats to eat there, though I usually get it to go. Best part about Kal's is that they support the community, often doing Restaurant Night's to help schools raise money and supporting the teachers of the local school district. I also appreciate that they recently switched to compostable bags, which is appreciated! I often skip takeout in general because of the plastic waste. Kind humans making delicious food! Stop by.

This was an unexpected treat. A friend of mine had told me about this place for lunch and I wasn't really sure if they were telling me the truth. However, I thought I should give it a try. They're specialty is Mediterranean food and it is very good. Portions are definitely enough to share or to make sure you're full all day. They were very nice at the counter they explained their menu and I was able to make my choice. The catch here, is that it is in the Royal Oak Farmers market in a corner, and during the week it doesn't even look like it's open. There are a few tables to eat there in a garage like atmosphere I chose to take mine to go. If you need to go someplace and get a quick lunch and not have any lines, before everyone discovers this give it a try.

Can't get anymore convenient than this place. It's located inside of the farmers market, not far from my house. Ended up walking, since I don't like parking in downtown much. They were not answering the phone after 3PM. They're supposed to be open until 6 PM, per the website link. I decided to walk over, since I wasn't able to get them on the phone. Order at the counter and then seat yourself or carry it out. They have 4 tables set aside next door. Anna waited on me. She checked for any allergies and indicated content in certain food items to ale sure it meshed well for me. Ordered a hummus of the day (roasted red pepper), loaded falafel, two lentil soups, a House salad and added chicken shawarma meat on it and a chicken Shawarma bowl, hummus as the base and added veggies, side house salad, turnips, sriracha and garlic sauce too. All white chicken breast meat for the salad and the bowl. $52 total less tax. $55.12 with tax. There is a coupon in the Royal Review paper. $39 after the discount coupon. The lentil has rice and small bits of brown bits in it from the caramelized onions, not super fond of either of these in the lentil soup much. It's piping hot a least. Tastes good still. Some fresh lemon juice would make it better for me. The loaded falafel is good. The garlic sauce, the pickled turnips, tabbouli and the puréed mango sauce is nice too. The falafel are nice and crispy, crunchy and not dry at all. Their house salad has dried apricots and walnuts in it, it's okay. Don't love the apricots, picked them out of the salad. The dressing is super light, it just didn't have enough tartness or bite to it for me. I asked for some sumac to add to it. Sumac makes it better some. The tabbouli is good, nice and lemony. Lots of bulgar too and fresh too. The woman that waited on me was nice, patient and attentive too. The red pepper hummus was so-so, definitely tasted the red pepper, but the hummus or chickpea doesn't stand out much in the hummus to me. The chicken bowl was decent for my hubby. The loaded falafel was the best part of the meal for sure.

You guys! Go get yourself some KAL! I'd say this place is better than Boukie's. This is bc the chicken at KAL's is not dry & it's tasty. But I will be honest and say it's not as bomb as Bucharest. However, go here if you feel like not making the drive over to Bucharest. It will satisfy your shawarma craving. We got the chicken shawarma wrap and the bowl. With the bowl you have an option of rice, veggies or hummus, I chose veggies. We also got a bowl of their potato soap which was their SOTD. Let me just say YummO. I will definitely be going back for more. The staff were super friendly. They also have options to seat and eat your food. Go get some!

I do business at the Market on Saturdays. I was hungry and wanted something light. I was told by a vendor go try KAL'S the soup is really good.so I decided to try it and glad I did. I had the chicken noodle lemon dill soup. It's was fantastic super fresh. I was told that the cafe buys most of its ingredients from the farmers market. So you know where the ingredients came from . The people who run the cafe are extremely nice people. I asked a lot of questions about the cafe and they were happy to answer.

They have an extensive menu to include vegetarian options which was nice to see. They also have many local brands to include chips, sodas, and other small local business products (caramelized nuts, baked goods, etc.)! On the topic of local businesses, they also had a board which allowed local owners to post business cards and event alerts, fantastic for drawing the community together. Now, I ordered a Reuben as a lover of corned beef and sauerkraut. It was delicious and sizeable, a fair portion size for the money as well. The chips were also delicious having gone for the salt, pepper, and onion variety. A solid crunch and bursting with flavor. Among the positives I have two negatives, both of which are not adequate enough to lower their star ranking. Firstly, it took around 20-25 minutes to get our food after ordering. I rarely hold timing against a restaurant as having worked in food, I know lunch rush exists and things happen. To mitigate this (for those in the area) I believe they have an online ordering system, which I would recommend utilizing! Secondly, they do not have indoor seating, so it is a very grab and go type establishment. This is counteracted by the multitude of benches around Royal Oak, though it would be nice to have some amount of seating, especially for those with accessibility needs and those waiting on their food. Overall, Oak House Deli is solid and delicious and I will definitely stop by again when I am in the area!

First of all the burger week place should have had open/close times listed on the app. Second, it's sliced deli meat... you can't slice up some lunch meat a few minutes before 11am. That's crazy. Edit: came back next day and actually HAD the sandwich I came for. Sandwich was VERY good. A little too much sauce but otherwise great. Flavor was good. Customer service still wasn't the best. Took 30 minutes for a sandwich. But I did get a free pickle.

The avocado wasn't the issue even though that was the third salad I ordered from this location that was made wrong. What prompted me to come back and get a refund was how rude the employee was on the phone. This store lacks customer service, professionalism and quality. I hope this constructive criticism helps you take the necessary steps to improve. I understand you may be upset about the review but that doesn't give you the right fabricate our interaction to make yourself and your store look better. You were happy to offer a refund not an apology. Now I hope you have a nice day. Im a grown woman and I used a curse word to emphasize how rude your employee was, that does not warrant being called hysterical. No one was disrespected, called out their name, and voices were not raised. You're more appalled at the curse word used than your employees behavior and the stores ability to properly make orders.
