Burrito de Desayuno / Breakfast Burrito - special of the day. Meat Lover's
Bobby B.

The service here is quick. We sat as soon as we walked in and food was cooked fast. The cafe itself is very quaint with lots of bright colors and fun decor. The food- my son, who grew up in SoCal eating his fair share of burritos, absolutely loved his Meat Lover's Breakfast Burrito. His words: decent price, very good size but something to fill me up for the day. I got José's and it was good, but nothing to rave about. The gravy is decent. Good taste of pepper. The biscuits were good, but the bottom was just slightly too crisp making it not easy to cut with a fork. The sausage patties are basic. We also wanted to give their pancake a try. Glad we did. It was good. We opted to do a chocolate chip one which was a great choice. The pancake was good. It's not too dry or dense but not fluffy either. I would get the pancake again. Overall, cute little place with good service and food.

My wife and I have driven past this place dozens of times over the last ten years and we have never stopped in. This morning, we opted to fix that. As we walked in, we were immediately hit by the small town look and feel off this place. I felt like I was walking into a small town diner in the 50s and I really enjoyed it. It's very small inside but with only four other people inside, it didn't feel cramped. The decor is very interesting and the small "counter" you can choose to sit at is very quaint. The menu is simple but filled with lunch and breakfast favorites catering classic American tastes as well as Mexican. Service was prompt and courteous but oddly distant. Not a word was spoken to us that wasn't about ordering or paying the cheque. I ordered the smothered vegetarian and a short stack of pancakes. It was huge and much more than I could eat in a single sitting. It was hot, fresh and quite possibly the best vegetarian breakfast burrito I've ever had. The pancakes were three times the size of a typical ihop pancake and they were fluffy and quite good. We look forward to trying their lunch menu next time. Plus, I think we will sit outside as the area in front looked very inviting. Parking is simple and very close. I think I walked 15 feet from my car to the front door. Here are the only drawbacks we noticed about the place. First, the restroom is in the basement and the only way to it is the stairs. Add to that the fact the building itself i likely 80 years old and was likely a single family home at one time. Picture the thin, steep stairs going into the basement of a very old home and that's what this is. I have no mobility issues and the stairs were steep for me and the ceiling I had to duck to get under. Nobody with any level of mobility issues with be able to negotiate these stairs and they should not try. The second drawback, though trivial, is the fact they charge a credit card processing fee. I despise credit card fees. I understand them but despise them. I paid 60 dollars for two people to have breakfast so they can eat the 1.50 credit card fee or hide it in my food bill. I hate seeing it as it makes me feel like I'm being nickel and dimed. All in all? This is a great place to eat and you get plenty of food. The only reason it's not a five star rating is the credit card fee. Which I've started with no ambiguity that I despise.

What a little eclectic place! We went here for breakfast on a Tuesday AM and we were the only sit down customers, however, many people picked up breakfast burritos to go. At least on the day we were there, it was a one-man shop! We ordered the pancakes, denver omelette, and bacon breakfast burrito. Everything was really fresh and tasty! Would definitely come back again and absolutely want to give their hand held burritos a go. They need to get an updated sign though, I have driven past this on Santa Fe thousands of times and due to the lack of signage (completely faded) I had no idea it even existed until looking on Yelp!

This is a great place to have a home cooked meal. The prices on the menu are from a listing 5 years ago. Be prepared to pay $13.95 instead of the $8.95 for the Chicken Fried Steak as an example on the online listed menu.

Pancakes, eggs and bacon

Home cafe was okay. I ordered a smothered avocado burrito with bacon. The green chile had a good amount of heat but there were several chile stems and roasted chile skin that I had to pick out. The avocados were a nice touch and the bacon added a good flavor but I had to keep picking those little stems out of my mouth. We also ordered pancakes and sunny side up eggs. The pancakes were the best part of the meal. They were huge and fluffy. The eggs could've been cooked a little more. I was hoping this may be a hidden little gem but it did not hit the spot.

GREAT CAFE! My bf & I stopped in for the first time today & absolutely fell in love. We will be coming back for numerous reasons, one of the biggest being the friendly staff & customers. It has a family restaurant vibe because it is! The brother of the waitress is actually in the Navy & there are cute photos of the family everywhere not to mention funny posters everywhere as well. The waitress is SUPER friendly & so nice to everyone as well, love her vibes & everything in general. Great great prices & super cheap for the most part. For our 2 meals & coffee we paid just over $20!

My daughter went through their program years ago. When she started I wasn't sure she'd ever be able to hold a job. She lacked the general skills, though I knew she could learn those easily enough. What I was concerned about was the confidence and level of communication which is required to attend to the average customer, and coworker. Today she is in another barista position full time. She loves it! She's great at it. She is even training others now. She has truly gained the skills to make her own way in the world and leave folks with a smile. I'm very proud of her progress. Thank you, DIRT!

She seemed openly unhappy to be there and was very unpleasant to all customers. We found Dirt on Apple Maps, which listed the coffee shop as open until 5 p.m., but when we arrived, we discovered it had moved. After tracking down the new location, we finally ordered drinks, only for the staff to start closing almost immediately. I asked about their hours, and the barista curtly told me they're closing and I could sit outside. I heard her drive away other guests who'd just bought drinks too. Another staff member said I could stay for a bit, but by then, I didn't feel welcome. As I sat outside, I ended up telling at least four groups of people that the place was closed. They really need to update their online listings, while that barista needs to learn some basic manners. We won't be coming back.

FOOD: Decent coffee. Menu had a bit of every classic breakfast dish -- eggs and meat, omelets, skillets, burritos, benedicts, tater tot bowls, battered brekkies -- as well as an array of burgers, sandwiches, salads. I had a Spanish skillet which was well-made, though the jalapenos made it a little one-note. My wife had the corn beef hash, which looks to have been made in layers on the plate and was very, very good. SERVICE: Despite the full house, service was snappy and pleasant. We felt neither pushed nor neglected. AMBIANCE: Serious diner vibes -- and not ironically chosen retro, but "yeah, this is a diner and would have looked this way if you'd visited in 1954." Noisy (but not deafening), bustling (but not overcrowded). The customers were of all ages, from families with small kids to seniors to teen-twenties in hoodies and tattoos. That's another sign of a good place. TIP: Huge free public parking lot behind its Broadway-facing location. Makes the downtown Englewood place a lot more accessible. NET-NET: I loved it. I'd go back here any number of future times, if only to try some of the other dishes.
