Great helpful friendly staff, lovely grounds, incredible views, choose the exact unit you want to rent, family friendly yet quiet enough for seniors/couples. Best part is being able to walk out back to everything - restaurants, grocery store, shops, liquor store, etc. HPH is a gem.

My son and I were still in the pool on July 6th or 7th at ~8:20pm. I wasn't paying attention to the time. We were on vacation having a good time. Well I later realized the pool closes at 8pm and I genuinely hadn't noticed the posted sign. An employee (an elderly haole man) came outside and yelled "GET OUT OF THE POOL!!" to which I immediately replied, "OK I'm sorry sir, we are getting out, my apologies I wasn't aware of the time" and we IMMEDIATELY started leaving the pool. Despite that, he continued yelling "GET OUT OF THE POOL!!" I am not kidding he yelled at the top of his lungs at least 5x more times. To the point that I responded that we were already getting out and had apologized, and that repeating it was unnecessary. His response was, "Well, you guys don't know how to read the sign, so you clearly need to be told several times." Wow. I completely understand the pool has posted hours and have no issue being asked to leave once I realized it was closed. That part was my mistake. What was disappointing was the way my 11 year old son and I were treated after we immediately complied. There was no reason to repeatedly yell at us or make disrespectful comments. Guests deserve to be treated with courtesy, even when they've made an honest mistake. I hope management addresses how guests are spoken to, because this interaction left a very negative impression. As a suggestion, it might help to automatically turn the pool lights off (if this happened we would have left immediately) and/or disable the gate keypad when the pool closes. We honestly didn't realize the posted hours and those changes would make it much more obvious that the pool was closed while also preventing situations like this. Because of this my family and I will never stay here again. There are plenty of other options just as good or better on Maui. TLDR: The pool closes at 8pm! If in the pool after be prepared to get yelled at by the staff repeatedly with disrespectful comments made to you and your children.

It's not now, and I hate to post this great review, cuz then it will be HARDER! I've been thru a lot of managers over the years here. Mostly good, some just shitty and annoying. The CURRENT managers here are HANDS DOWN, the BEST. RYAN AND MALEA. Since they took over, everything has been excellent. The condos have ALWAYS been spectacular. All ocean facing, beautiful grounds, so SERENE and very well kept. Before Malea and Ryan there were issues with accountability when something went wrong in a unit. My last 5 visits, they took care of ANY issue, often when it wasn't their jobs. So- management is STELLAR These condos are ON MAALEAA BAY. The whales BREACH right there. The outrigger club paddles by every morning. Egrets chase the gardeners around. It's seriously paradise. If you like water slides, lots of people- this is not your place. The most people you will see is at sunset when the condo owners all bring there conch shells down to blow for the sunset. It IS a killer location tho. Close to all the Kihei stuff, not far from Lahaina or Paia. 2 pools, 2 groups of condos surrounding each pool. Beach is public but the only people you see are people walking by- otherwise it's quiet. Don't be an idiot, this place is AMAZING. JUST GO. Just not when I want to, DAMMIT!!

Maui Vista Condominium - Bedbugs bites

I stayed at Maui Vista, Building 1, unit 1205, and this was the worst experience I've ever had with…read morea rental property. Everything looked fine when I checked in, but after my first night I woke up with my entire back covered in painful, swollen bites. I had never experienced bed bugs before, so at first I didn't understand what was happening. The second night, I slept in the living room with different pillows, hoping it was just an allergy. Instead, I woke up in the middle of the night from intense burning and pain. The bites spread to my arms, legs, face, stomach, hands -- everywhere. The swelling and irritation were severe and extremely painful. I could not sleep at all. I messaged the owners immediately in the middle of the night telling them I couldn't stay there anymore. They only replied the next morning asking for "proof." I sent photos showing my skin covered in huge swollen red bites, but they answered very slowly and didn't offer any help. They told me they had no other unit to move me to and offered only a refund for the remaining days. Considering the state I was in, this was unacceptable. They didn't truly take me seriously until Pest Control arrived. When the Pest Control workers saw my skin, they were visibly shocked, and they confirmed bed bugs in the bed. Only after their confirmation did the owners agree to issue a full refund. Despite how severe my situation was, there was no apology, no sympathy, no support, not even a phone call. Instead, they told me that I had to leave immediately and that I would only receive the refund once I checked out. I explained that I needed time to wash my belongings so I wouldn't take their bed bugs with me. I had to throw away multiple personal items and urgently book another place to stay. The following days of my trip were ruined. I spent 5-6 days treating painful, swollen bites that made it almost impossible to sleep. What was supposed to be my long-awaited vacation turned into stress, pain, and unexpected expenses -- all because of an infestation that clearly didn't start overnight. The number of bites I received makes it obvious that this issue was ongoing for a long time and not properly addressed. Bed bugs do not appear in such quantities in just a day or two. This tells me the unit hadn't been properly cleaned or treated for months. If you don't want your vacation ruined, your body covered in painful bites, and your health and belongings put at risk, avoid this unit and be extremely careful with this property. The way the owners handled (or rather ignored) the situation was completely unacceptable.

Unit 113 This review…read moregot two stars because you can't not give two stars in Maui, the natural beauty and the beach gets a minimum of two stars automatically in my opinion. However, our stay in this unit does not deserve more than that. When we got to the location on Friday night. We discovered that one of the two rolled up beds was broken, my sister emailed the person immediately and was told that it would take two weeks to replace it. There was no offer of providing a substitute or any other options, so now we were down a bed, and my nephew had to sleep on the floor. We discovered the following day that the Internet and the cable did not seem to be working, I emailed the owners again about the bed, and my disappointment with not getting a replacement when the unit advertised as sleeping eight and now we were completely down a bed, I also added the complaint about the Internet and the cable at this time. I never received a response back until the day we left... five days later. It turned out the Internet and the cable did work, the problem is that half of the outlets in the unit don't work, so it was an issue with the power not working and not the Internet. We were highly disappointed at the lack of response and follow through from the owners of this unit, we emailed about the bed immediately and the cable and Internet the following day, and did not receive a response for a week . The unit is old and outdated, there were wrappers from the previous guests on the floor and the cables and wires for the electronics were clumped together in a knot in a basket under the tv. The air conditioner is loud and often times left puddles in front of the door where it was located.
